Very disappointing and as a SkyMiles member would have thought there would be some level of common courtesy dealing with a non-weather related delay that drastically impacted my travel plans."
Cons: "The connecting flight from Atlanta to NY was rescheduled for an hour and fifteen minutes later, boarding for the delayed flight started late, closed doors were another 20 minutes late, spend another hour or so waiting for confirmations, during which no AC is on because of a malfunction on the plane with the electricity unit. Due to rough air conditions, no in-flight service, or very limited one - and all of those are fine by me, and not the airlines' fault at all. But then, during all these unexpected conditions, I can't even use the in flight entertainment system as i use Bluetooth earphones, and to get earphones I have to buy them for 2$. To earn excellent service, inspite of all the delays, AC malfunction and unpleasantness all you had to do was give those 2$ earphones for free. I have another flight with SkyTeam coming up and I do hope it won't be as unpleasant as it is a much longer flight."

Cons: "My Finnair flight from London to New York was cancelled due to weather conditions in New York. I understand that. What made me very frustrated and angry is that when I contacted Finnair to reschedule the flight I was told the flight was managed by British Airways and I would have to contact them When I contacted British Airways they said it was a Finnair flight and I had to contact them. I finally had no recourse but to buy another ticket through another airline. I feel that I should be reimbursed for my Finnair ticket from London to New York! I paid for a flight I never took. (The Finnair flight from New York to London was fine.)"

I told them multiple times Id be flexible and go to any city in the UK just for them to get me there on the 18th. The First person I talked to said it was impossible. So I called again and talked to another person and all of a sudden it was possible. The worst part was they sent me to Boston after that I didn't get to Boston until 1:50 am and they did not compensate with hotel or anything while my flight to London was not until 8:00 am the next morning. So I spent the night in the airport. Oh and then when I finally got to London, my bag is lost and they told me I'd have it by tomorrow and I still do not have my bag and have called and they said they can't tell me anything."

Cons: "ALL my print outs say FINNAIR, your asking about my FINNAIR flight, all says FINNAIR, so I go to the airport and wait 30 precious minutes at the FINNAIR counter to check in ( there was no self check in computers) only to be told Ah, you are not on FINNAIR, you are on American and must go to the American counter. I was given my itinerary back and rushed to American and began to self check in only to realize in the rush the woman had not given me back my passport. So, I rushed back to get it, loosing more time, only to find she had given it to another agent at another American counter but not at the check in area, and it took more time to find out who had my passport. I made my flight, but if ALL says FINNAIR, how am I supposed to know that I should instead be looking at fine print to discover which airline I am actually flying on and waste time!!!!!!! It should state CLEARLY that I need to check in at the American counter. In flight entertainment was really poor in comparison to other airlines on international flights."
Cons: "It is over a month now and I am still waiting to get my American Airlines miles awarded to my account. The trip was booked through FinnAir but operated by American Airlines. They are both members of the same alliance. The airline miles number was confirmed with American Airlines upon check-in. But now, American Airlines wants proof of my ticket receipt and boarding pass. I have my ticket receipt but who keeps their paper boarding pass these days? Hope my photo of the gate details suffices for my boarding pass."

I also paid extra to be in the exit row, to have people constantly congregating in front of us.The food was also mediocre."

Totally unacceptable. They started the boarding process early (50 minutes before departure), but passengers were allowed to actually board the plane at the time it was supposed to take off."

Cons: "It is very difficult to get around CDG airport with a disabled person. There is no shuttle. By the time we got to check in, we were ten minutes late. They would not check us in, and we paid over $700 to change tickets to the next flight. When I complained, I was told to stop being rude or I would get no ticket at all. My mother is 94 years old and we did the best we could given the circumstance."

The two people at the desk didn't care when I noted this. We were called to the desk in advance of boarding to check passport information. When we got to the check in line, we were taken aside for more passport checking, even though we are US citizens with Trusted Traveler status in the GOES program. We were one of the first people at the departure lounge, and one of the the last to board."

The crew was friendly and food was good but I felt not enough was done to accommodate the extra hours we had to wait on the plane."

"Good Morning - we were unable to take the flight from Dublin to Reykjavik because it was delayed and we couldn't risk missing out connection to Denver. At the beginning of our trip the flight from Reyykjavik to Dublin was canceled without telling us and we had to get a different airline on that leg as well. . . When we called the airline, they were closed and unable to help. When we called Kayak, i couldn't understand the person and they were unable to help as well! We purchased the insurance for the trip and sure hope that we can get some help from Iceland Air and from Kayak."

Only needed one checked bag. Kids even in economy light get a free meal - though none are heated. Cabin is ok. Flight attendants were nice. even asked another passenger to move so I could have a seat for my lo infant even though I hadn’t paid for a seat for him. There was space of the flight so I didn’t feel badly about this. WiFi was affordae and generally reliable. I had a turkey pretzel bread wedge that was tasty."
Cons: "Witnessed many customers checking in who thought a bag was included. Entertainment is ok but screens have limited kid activities. Each leg of my flight took off 15-20 min late easily. Overall this wasn’t bad as it was made up in-air. Except one layover was only an hour, And cut it a bit close clearing passport control and traveling with two kids. No time to even see Kaflavik or pick up food or drinks. We ran to the final boarding call after clearing passport control. Also not good was that they don’t offer gate check on strollers. On a departure, you can use your stroller all the way up to the gate, but you get it back with any checked baggage at baggage claim, so you won’t have a stroller for layovers in Keflavík or clearing customs on either end. That was a pain. Strollers came up after all baggage. Not good for traveling families. Kids should be first especially after a 6 hour flight which was probably a second leg."

It also took ages to get on the plane and there were delays when trying to land as well. The staff needs to also learn better english and other languages besides icelandic."

Cons: "A 2 hour layover turned into a 6 hr layover. Delays were announced 30 minutes at a time. They are flying so many flights thru Reykjavik that there isn't room for all the people. The weather was perfect, but a number of flights were delayed for various reasons. People were lined up everywhere, there isn't enough gate space, people just fill the hallways. The cafeteria ran out of bread for sandwiches given so many people needed to eat during the delays. In the future, I will look to avoid IcelandicAir flights thru Reykjavik despite the attractive price. They haven't scaled the airport to handle the traffic they are bringing in."

Cons: "The boarding process was very long In Iceland. They asked us to line up about 15 minutes before they started checking boarding passes Then, they made you wait for an extra ten minutes until they opened the doors to get on the bus, which was parked outside the door the entire time. Once we got on the bus we had to wait another ten minutes until it pulled away from the gate. Took about 35-40 mins from the time we got in line until we sat down in our plane seats. My friend’s tv screen stopped working after 15 minutes so we had to share mine for the rest of the 6 hours."

There were three other lines going to other destinations, which made it confusing and packed with people. Check in was a little stressful as well. Due to a belt malfunction, we had to wait in line for a long time without any information. Once we were able to check our bags, my husband's bag was declined. We had to wait in another line before finally getting the go ahead to go to customs. For the amount of money I paid, I thought a snack would have been provided."
Cons: "This was the worst flight I have been on. It was delayed by two and a half hours - because of a mechanical problem we had to switch planes. Don't they do a check before they board people? They only offered beverages one time in a 6 hour flight. There was no food which is appalling for an International flight. The worse thing is that when I booked my ticket it said one meal will be provided. But there was none. The choice of food for purchase was poor. I will never use Icelandair again. And I will discourage my colleagues using it too, who, like me, travel to conferences regularly."

I would gladly have gone on the tarmack in my raingear to retrieve my bag rather than wait over an hour. We had a family member waiting for us for 2 hours!"

I watched a beautiful Icelandic film (Heartstone?) and listened to an audiobook about Viking history, then concluded the flight with an episode of Planet Earth. We also loved getting a bottle of Iceland water as we were boarding the flight!"
Cons: "Mainly, I was unhappy that the plane was nearly 40 minutes late arriving in Newark, which resulted in us missing our bus home. The "gate" in Iceland was also extremely chaotic— it seemed as though the airport was not big enough to handle all the flights."

There was no space to get there, just hundreds of passengers all over the place who didn't know what to do and no announcements were made until the very moment that they started boarding. Very bad experience. The final approach to Newark airport was terrible with the plane going down in bumps and the landing was also bad."

Cons: "No complimentary food or snacks on a 6 hour flight? I've never heard of this before. I've had snacks on even a 2 hour flight with other airlines. This is especially unacceptable and inconsiderate considering that due to the airline's carelessness passengers who had a connecting flight (same airline) arrived to the layover later than scheduled with only 30 mins to spare we had no time to pick up food. Only to use the restroom. So my boyfriend and I were forced to spend ~$12 on a soggy ham and cheese "baguette" and pringles on the flight. Service and attentiveness was subpar. Landing was disastrous and would have been traumatizing if it was my first time flying. I along with surrounding passengers nearly jolted out of our seats and had to brace ourselves as the wheels bounced off the ground trying to graze the pavement."
