Was told no problem. When I went to re-confirm adn do nline check in on the 24th, my ticket had been marked trip completed...there was not return leg DUB/BARCELONA/MIA...just vanished. Paid 900Euros. I had no idea I would go through immigration, end up outside the airport and then take a shuttle to an offsite terminal 20 minutes away to go through security and passport checks again. After walking in circles around the terminal and getting bits of information from Barcelona airport employees I figured it out. I can't imagine how a non-Spanish speaker would have found his/her way."

Cons: "The flight was delayed by 4 hours because maintenance needed to change a tire on the airplane. The delay would have been acceptable if it wasn't for the excuses the airline offered. First, they said maintenance couldn't find a spare tire, and when they did rob a tire from another plane, they said the delay was due to FAA paperwork. These reasons, most likely true, suggest American Airlines (British Airways sub-contracted this flight to its partner, American Airlines) was not prepared to handle such an emergency."

The seat was so uncomfortable that I spent the entire 9 hrs awake. The entertainment was terrible. When watching a movie you can't simply start it when you want so if you miss show time when it started you have to begin where it is...I hope that 1st class is different than what it feels like to ride in coach because it makes me feel like steerage! I most certainly would not take this airline to Europe unless I had better accommodations because being in the coach section sucks!"

To me, that's above and beyond, being in the service industry myself. The entertainment was really diverse and offered many options. The food was good and the red wine was excellent. The pilot gave us regular updates about the flight and the weather in Barcelona, our destination. The seats were roomy and comfortable. Restrooms were very clean."

Make sure you arrive at least 2 30 hours before check in or you may miss your flight."

Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

At the gate they said the flight would be delayed half an hour, however they just called us to start boarding a half an hour after the flight was expected to leave. At that time the passengers of the previous flight were just starting to leave the plane so everyone that was about to board then had to stand in the freezing cold tunnel way with all of our bags for another 20 minutes while the previous passengers got off. There was no food or any beverage other than water offered on the flight."

They keeping on changing the delayed time so it end up being nearly two hours before we got on the plane. I was very disappointed that we didn't get where we needed to be on time. Our hour and 45 minute flight end up just wasting time waiting for the plane. They could of at least refund our check in bag fee for the inconvenient."
Pros: "Stay away from TAP. I wish the people at the counter were just rude - they were tormenting us and lying to me about my luggage. When they found out I insisted on not checking my bag, they told me they would "keep it" in the meantime. Turned out they went ahead and threw the bag onto the plane. We ended up having to go find it at lost and found. They initially told me it was going to only take 5-10 mins to retrieve my luggage, but then 40 mins passed and still nothing. My poor mom had to wait by the empty belt - and boarding started and the luggage still wasn't there. They forced us to pay 35 euros (it's principle, not the money) when their policy said nothing about it when I booked it on the website. My mom was in tears and I had the worst few hours of my life. TAP - you are disgusting. It takes a lot for me to be upset but you really did everything out of your way to make us suffer. Even told us we might have to miss our flight. You put a huge dent on my trip."

I currently say lost because it Day 3 in Ibiza and the luggage never left Newark with my flight originally and is supposedly in Barcelona while I’m here. Called everyday for updates on my bag and they give you very little useful info. Oh and the 7:45 departure last Thursday didn’t leave until 2:30am, then they kicked us out of our economy plus seats picked for comfort and tossed us in middle aisle seats some place else which were ridiculously uncomfortable. There’s no entertainment except in first class and this is a 777 huge jet. Filing a claim, sending a letter to their ceo, a letter to he DOT, and grabbing a good lawyer friend for counsel on this because it’s a disaster. I had to buy everything I needed which isn’t enough and I’m also running out of diabetic supplies since the rest I’d my lost / delayed luggage. So delayed flight by 6hrs, kicked out of original seats, lost and delayed luggage, airlines seems to refuse to send it to my hotel through other carriers, 3days and no luggage and wondering if they are going to send it to Ibiza while I’m heading back to Barcelona today. No one calls me or emails or updates me on any status changes of where my bag is and what’s going on. Their customer service sucks and it’s some guy or girl in another country who gives no fks about your situation. I will never fly with United again"

It got a little better but still stayed on the warm side the rest of the way. Your boarding process makes no sense and does nothing to get passengers settled faster. After priority seating is done, let the people in the BACK of the plane board first, then the middle section passengers, then the Eco Plus passengers."
