However in the inbound trip SFO Valencia l was able to carry the very same carry one with the same weight on the plane. First, it's not acceptable to limit carryon to 8 kilograms for trips including transatlantic segments. I fly a lot with Delta / air France and they have higher limit as it should be. And second, criteria should be applied consostently across Swiss. Why is it no problem from SFO to Velalencia, but it is a problem from Valencia to SFO? Also, online check-in is horrendous and unacceptable in this day and age. SUPER slow and cracked a couple of times on my mobile device"

In addition, the flight wasn't full so my travel companion got to enjoy a full row to himself while I enjoyed an empty seat next to me to stretch out. The food was very good. The staff came by quite a few times to offer orange juice or water. The entertainment syren was excellent. I watched four full movies on the trip and have in mind at least a couple more for the return leg."

United is bringing the quality down."

Cons: "I was denied boarding on the Dublin to Munich leg of my connecting flight from Newark to Munich. My ticket was booked through Lufthansa, but the transatlantic leg of my trip was operated by United. When checking in with United in Newark, I received two boarding passes, one for each leg of the trip. I arrived on time in Dublin for my flight to Munich and tried to board the plane for Munich with the boarding pass I had printed in Newark. After scanning my ticket, the Lufthansa employees at the gate informed me that they had no record of me or my plane ticket in their system. I showed them the email confirmation for my ticket, but they still could not find any record of my ticket in their online system. The employees seemed more concerned with boarding all passengers as quickly as possible than assisting me. After being denied boarding, I had to go back through passport control to change my flight, and ended up getting to Munich nearly 6 hours behind schedule and missed an entire day of vacation. A Lufthansa employee told me that out of every partner in the STAR alliance, United is the ONLY airline they have had this problem with. I find this inexcusable, I will be AVOIDING ANY United/Lufthansa connecting flight from now on."

Pros: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Not sure there's a whole lot to do about it besides buy prepackaged food that don't have meat, vegtabjes or fruit. Protien bars may have worked. We brought two bottles of water each from the terminal. I could have used more, even with the drink service. The flight attendants we're having thier own personal conversation while passing out food and ran by when it came to the final trash clean up. When I got up to use the facilities I tried throwing my trash away but was ignored by a crew member while she was resting."
Pros: "I liked the service once we left Dublin but once it was time to arrive to Leeds everything went downhill."
Cons: "Our flight did not land to Leeds but to Manchester. I thought this would not be an issue to get my connecting flight to London. As I tried to explain to the airline attendants about my connecting flight they had no idea what was going on and said it wasn't their issue I would have to go to Leeds and explain to them what was happening. I asked if there was a way we could call them and see if I could just get a flight to London from Manchester. They said no. I tried to get a number to call myself still nothing. They sent everyone from the flight onto a coach bus to Leeds. Once I arrived to Leeds, I spoke with Ben and explained my situation. He said there were no more flights to London or anywhere near there. And there wasn't any flights to Austin, TX which was my end point either. He explained there wasn't anything they could do except fly me in the morning to London. I agreed but then come to find out he had to send me back to Manchester. Now I had already had my arrangements to stay in London for the night so I did not have much money left. He said they would take care of the accommodations and the flight to London. I was VERY PATIENT. Within this he was telling me how close they were to closing. I explained I needed everything in place before they even left because I was traveling alone in an unknown country or city. He arranged a cab to take me back to Manchester and a hotel to stay in with dinner and breakfast available. I thought everything would get better but of course it didn't. Ben clearly knew I had my checked bag and carry on. When I'm about to board the flight to London they charged me 60 pounds for my CHECKED BAG. Now this was already included on flight to begin with if all of this had not happened. The attendant did not want to listen to my story and kept passing me to another attendant that said there's nothing they could do. I had to pay since I couldn't leave my belongings. Once i arrived to London. I had to get my bag and RECHECK IN MY BAG. AGAIN they tried to charge me for my checked bag. This time I had enough of your airline and explained it was all included in my flight and I went on a rant with the attendant. He just stared and printed out the ticket for my bag. Didn't look at the computer. Didn't even explain why it's all of sudden taken care of that I don't have to pay anymore. I had no patience to hear his excuse but just wanted to get back home. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. Frontier isn't even this unorganized. Shouldn't there be a process for these kind of situations already?"

Can't wear headphone on takeoff and landing whereas other airlines allow, They charge for alcohol so the drink service takes twice as long while they collect money/credit cards. Constant, constant, constant announcements. Impossible to watch a movie without some interruption. No, I don't care who is chief flight attendant in business class. Towards the end of the flight, they subject you to a charity video. You have to listen/watch. The inflight entertainment is interrupted (again) for this."

Water was free, but would only give you small amounts and was very infrequent. Waiting in the queue to check luggage took over an hour. There were only a few attendants, and at one point all attendants left except for the one that was checking in flight attendants. Awful."
Cons: "Neither wi-if nor the movie system worked. Fortunately we had strong tail winds so an 8 hour flight was 6. They should have let us know while we were still in the terminal so we could purchase a book or download a movie. Beer and wine had to be purchased on an international flight. No economy plus."

Cons: "Before we boarded this plane we arrived at Aer Lingus for a 2 hour layover. The airport only had a snack bar open and an express bar with only drinks. There was cafes upstairs but that was closed off to hundreds of people with a layover between flights. When asked they said it was closed off by escalater and elevator to all of us. They blocked the escalator with a giant gate sign. People waited in line at a snack for over 20 mins for a bite to eat that was express food or a choice of 5 sandwiches that came hot that actually sucked not worth the money at all. People were pissed! I was looking forward to a nice meal for my layover but that definitely did not happen! They only came around once with drinks on a 6 hour flight, then twice for coffe and tea. When I asked for a sprite they said they ran out of things completely"

Pros: "The crew are the friendliest, nicest crew. I’ve flown Iberia and JetBlue the past year and the Aer Lingus crew are so much more hospitable and service oriented. From cockpit announcements keeping passengers up to date on flight info, to food service, the crew does an excellent job."
Cons: "Boarding the plane was too chaotic. There seemed to be a lot of confusion. They were boarding rows 8-23 but no one was getting through the gate to the plane. Before anyone from this group got on the plane, they added rows 24-46. Ambiguity causes stress. A more orderly lining up of passengers would be less stressful."

To be that insensitive to others is quite a feat. What could they have done, you ask? When my children got unruly on flights (very rarely) my wife whisked them off to the bathroom until they were calm. It's what responsible parents do. Not sit and smile at you. And when we reached Munich, we waited more than a half hour for luggage that came in spits and spurts... It was the perfect final flourish to a miserable 12 plus hours on your airline. I'm thrilled at the prospect of my return to LA next week and what surprises may be in store for me!"

I didn't want to do the same thing to the person behind me, so I kept my seat upright, which didn't help. I only got up once during the whole flight and I know it was uncomfortable for the reclining person because there was no way to exit without jostling her."
