If you're a US citizen, know that the transfer from Dublin to USA includes the customs border check. This means that once you land in a USA airport, you won't need to go through customs again!
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2026
Have your passport ready; it’s requested multiple times! The Rome airport is enormous- not easy to get help answering questions on where to go and how to get to security and gate for boarding. AerLingus at Rome airport is actually on offsite part of terminal. We walked forever to get to our gate “E” then we were put on a bus to shuttle us to where the plane was. Again, more walking- if you have a lot of carry on with you or can’t walk so far it’s a challenge. They need to advise trailers at check in to get to their gate Early to allow for all the extra walking and shuttle time needed.

Naples is a very small but very crowded airport. EES gets crowded very quick so plan to reach the gate 30 mins early.
TrishFlew with Aer Lingus-Jul 2026
Going to the US via Dublin took ages. Plan your layover accordingly!
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-May 2026
The lines to get in and out of Spain, may be a bit long, so prepare for that!
JeffFlew with Scandinavian Airlines-Apr 2026
Your gate may be at the end of the F concourse, so be prepared for that.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Apr 2026
The flight boarding at Dublin Airport was a negative experience. Another passenger admonished me for cutting in the "B" group line, so further direction on how to proceed in the queue would have been helpful for travellers who are not familiar with Irish airport protocol.
williamFlew with Aer Lingus-Apr 2026
Be prepared for long queues at check-in, after that passport control is a NIGHTMARE
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Dec 2025
Bring snacks. Double check with the airline that everything is in order. Never go through large airports like Heathrow with any layover that’s less than 3 hours. Small airports are preferred for layover like Dublin or Brussels.
JohnFlew with Aer Lingus-Jan 2026
Dublin airport was great for an American due to the American TSA 'precheck' area so we did not have to go through customs in America. Problem though: I wanted to see shops and restaurants in Dublin. An attendent told me there were shops and restaurants after USA Precheck but there really were not. there was ONE overcrowded restaurant with very few food options and there was a duty free shop and that was it. There should be signage allowing people to choose to go to the main airport before doing the USA Precheck and being stuck in this place with few amenities.
DeborahFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2025
Heathrow seems to have a lot of plane traffic so make sure you have a good cushion of time if you have connecting flights. I had a 2 hour layover but ended up having to run to make sure I got to the other gate in time.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2025
If you’re doing a transfer speak to someone at the desk don’t use an automated kiosk
joshuaFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2025
Counter service is little late , need to reach airport early
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Apr 2025
Make sure you have enough time on your connection because even though the gate agent in Naples assumed we would not clear customs in Dublin and we would just go gate to gate because we are on Air Lingus the whole way and we would clear customs in Los Angeles, but no, that was not the case we had an hour and 15 minutes and barely made it because it was a long walk off the jet way on a bus to the terminal a long walk until we got to immigration so they did put us through customs in Dublin and then we did not go through customs in Los Angeles.
KillianFlew with British Airways-May 2025
Dublin airport a shambles when it comes to collecting luggage or getting a cab. Allow plenty of extra time.
Verified travelerFlew with SWISS-Jan 2025
Check-in 3 is not conveniently located, so account time for that.
Rita AnnFlew with Aer Lingus-Sept 2024
The gate is a long walk so go through security earlier rather than later. Loads of great shops and restaurants both land and air side.
ThomasFlew with Aer Lingus-Oct 2024
You will likely have to walk a lot more than you might expect to make a connection.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Aug 2024
Hamburg sometimes has an additional passport check between two gates (Cx and Dx) which can take 30min. Take this additional time after security check into consideration.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Aug 2024
Put an AirTag or other tracking device in your bag.
PaulFlew with Ryanair-Jul 2024
Avoid Ryanair. The airport is tiny, buy water etc in duty free shops not restaurants they will charge you €5 for water
AnthonyFlew with Aer Lingus-Apr 2024
Baggage checking was very slow over 30min with not a massive queue. Gate was very late to be announced and priority boarding with young child was overlooked due priority boarding queue being so long. Airport is nice with great amenities and facilities in the terminal, but long walks to gates if travelling with a young family.
williamFlew with Aer Lingus-Jan 2024
The check in at Linate are diabolical. I would recommend online check in and carry on baggage only

I did not use entertainment on board, so, cannot really evaluate. the flight was fine.

The flight was 45 mins late leaving, we sat without a/c for some of this, 2nd Meal was a slice of pizza. Movies were good.

As per usual when you Hit the UK it's a slow process through customs Not as efficient at Thailand for sure

Crew is not the cheerful type. very slow meal service (this is their style as have flown this many times)

First of all we couldn’t check in online, then we learn at the airport we were on stand by for KLM’s mistake of overbooking. The seats were not comfy at all. Our luggage got lost.

I appreciate that KLM was proactive in informing me of the 2 hour delay which enabled me to replan my travel. It was a bit stressful not knowing whether my connection from Montreal to Ottawa was happening. But the ground and air crew did a good job at comforting and assuring me.

The IFE was quite old, but it worked fine and the content was good. The cabin crew were excellent and the food was as also very good

It was operated by Delta. Boarding took a long time. How difficult can it be? Overall decent trip. Liked the Salt Lake City airport. Better option than Chicago for transfers.

I travel frequently. The flight was late again... KLM should really try and be on time

One of their staff was so rude with discriminative. Such a reputed airline shouldn't hire such kind of arrogant attendants.

uneventful, good economy section, friendly staffs, good food, safe flight.

Late, dirty cabin, charging ports broken, uncomfortable, no tomato juice, barely edible food

Finnair was not able to get our luggage on a connecting flight and there was a substantial delay of two days to obtain our lugguage. They did not communicate well, and we had to travel a significant distance to finally get our luggage. It has been a very negative experience.

Flight on time, landed well ahead of schedule. Attendants were excellent and responsive

Great flight- smooth, nice crew, nice clean aircraft, departed a little late but arrived 10 early.

Very rude hostess. She embarrassed me in front of others. I went to sit after taking off in a different sit in the same economic cabin. Was the area where doors are. She come to me very laud and said: go back to your sit those sit are more expensive.wow! No diplomacy. Flight was super full except 3 of those sit. The only person in that row later during the flight occupied all sit laying down!. Once more disappointed at American Airlines. Early flight they lost my luggages for 4 days. Never refund money for replacement for some of essential items purchased..when I booked the flight I thought was Finlandair. I

Everything was quite easy from boarding to landing - the staff was great and service was excellent too!

Boarding was a shambles, with no proper line or queue and multiple groups joining at the same time. Overhead space was limited. Seat spacing (width) is not generous. My neighbour was invading my space, before he even spilt his drinks over me (twice!) as he struggled to contain his meal on the table. The main meal was very poor. Choice was simply chicken / turkey - the crew didn't know exactly which - or vegetarian. The chicken meal was really poor quality - uninspiring and tasteless; and very little offering of drinks. Half the crew were friendly, half really need to cheer up.

The plane was warm and stuffy. The crew was friendly but got 2 orders wrong. I asked for sparkling water and wine with dinner and got neither. I asked for black coffee with breakfast and got coffee with cream. Service was so slow on my side of the plane they ran out of 2 of the 3 desserts at dinner and I was in row 12.

Great flight. The crew was helpful in making sure everybody’s carry on luggage has a place to go. It was a short flight and Finnair made it fast and smooth.

No complaints. Food was good. Seats had good electrical connections for charging devices.

Cabin crew was one of the worst in memory. Poor in delivering service - in some cases skipping it altogether. Someone in baggage handling managed to steal my electronic bag tracker from Apple.

It was a short flight, so not bad. No entertainment provided, nor a complimentary tea service.

The people with the food cart ran so fast up and down the aisle that I had no idea what they were offering

I buy ticket from you and when I go to the airport aer Lingus they tell me you need travel visa for Ireland for one hour travel so when I buy tickets there no requirement I need transit, visa or not so when I try to cancel my ticket or change my ticket, you guys say there is no refund so you u guys take all my money which is very disappointed

The aircraft was clean and relatively comfortable- for an aircraft seat. The entertainment was good. The food was terrible, especially the “breakfast “ which was a cereal bar, and just not good. The crew were amazing, professional and no complaints there. The food was so bad, I know for my return, it will be inedible.

Boarding was ponderous. Seats are very cramped and not comfortable

Overall good. however, we were rerouted and my luggage was lost.

Boarding was efficient. What could have been better would have been the physical boarding process, which required going down stairs, or riding a shuttle to/from the plane.

It was great all the airline staff were polite friendly and helpful. Flight was good. The one area for improvement would be to have chargers on every plane. We had these on the way over but not the way back. Especially as you are not allowed to use powerbanks anymore.

Had no disruptions or delays. Did not order any food.

I liked almost everything (e.g. ease of booking, price, punctuality, efficiency, friendliness, courtesy). A slam landing in Dublin airport took some of the gloss off it, though. Being able to paste here the text of the review of the same flight that I just wrote for Ryanair would make me feel better about Kayak too.

Take off was great but landing is always with a bump.

Staff were very professional. Much better than the outgoing flight from Dublin. Seat cushions were practically non existent. Making for a very uncomfortable flight.

It's not the staff's fault. The cabin crew do their best but the setup in Stansted Airport by Ryanair is poor. The herding of people like cattle is unacceptable before boarding and is something that's in every airport but only in Stansted have I seen the queueing of passengers outside the plane on the tarmac and the crew only turning up with maybe 5 minutes to depart. This is a resource issue . Yes prices are good but seemingly comes with a price of poor treatment of customers. I'll pay more next time

Flight was fine, crew were good, cabin director spoke far too much; disembarking at Dublin Airport and entry into the terminal building was just dreadful, like entering the back door of a neglected factory building. What an awful impression it must give to first time visitors to Ireland.

Worst experience ever. First time and last time with Ryanair. I'm not a cow.

Didn’t like anything about it we were delayed by 3 hours and sat on the plane when leaving Dublin. On the way back to Dublin we were kept in the plane on tarmac for 4.5 hours. This airline is a joke!

Delayed flight. Received notice from ryanair by email and via app but no such timely information available at airport from monitors or staff

Ryanair is always shite. Slowest boarding possible in the most uncomfortable way. It’s like they are are tad sadistic.

From HYD to FRA - plane (787-9) seating in economy was so terribly cramped. There were tons of empty seats but we were ordered (by Lufthansa's crew) that we cannot change seats even after we reached cruising altitude, ostensibly because of "safety reasons". So what could've been a nicer experience was totally soured. Food was good. Flight was punctual. From FRA to LHR - for some strange reason ("totally full flight") they asked us to check in our cabin bag! We told them that there were medicines and delicate items inside al we'd like to keep it with us in the cabin. Then they VERY rudely *ordered* is to unload our delicate items and meds and the. Check in the bag. We complied. On the way into the plane we saw many others (whites, of course!) rolling in similar bags happily into the plane. This, this leg of the trip was completely ruined for us by Lufthansa's crew. Bottom line: I am never traveling Lufthansa again!

The row of seats were so cramped it was difficult to get in and out of your seat. I even upgraded. A long flight and sad accommodations 😵‍💫 the shorter flight was very comfortable and the seating was spacious

Good service … bus transfer upon arrival from plane to terminal: atrocious!!!

Overall excellent service and Frankfurt Airport was very efficient and clean

I was expecting better from Lufthansa. I’ll think twice before I book Lufthansa again. This trip was the worst ever… in my 70 years of traveling.

Terrible experience. I was stuck in Germany for two full day because your flights can't leave on time. You guys suck!!!

Only two check in counters for online bag drop, economy and premium economy clients, NO management supervision whatsoever, no announcements, whilst Business and first class had three check in counters operational, with the bulk of clients flying economy on a 747…..very poor service indeed. Stood in a queue for two hours to check in!!!!!! The flight crew were equally indifferent.

Flight left late. Missed connection. Rebooked in the morning. United couldnt find rebooking. Had to buy a new ticket to get home. Horrible all the way.

There was no flight!! This flight was non-existent and I had no cancellation info or change provided for me. I had to scramble to take trains to the next city to make my international flight.

Carry-on luggage restrictions extremely stringent- did not allow carry-on sized suitcases we have brought on other flights, boarding is slow and disorganized delaying take-off and making difficult to get to connecting flight
