There was only one clerk at the desk, and she was very surly. The line of people waiting after a flight arrived should have been handled with two clerks.
I chose the option to have toll charges covered and paid a daily flat fee for that. After returning the car, budget kept charging my card for toll charges.
The wait to pick up the car was over an hour. It took so long that we rented with another car rental company.
The car i received (Nissan Kicks) was clean but the not sure if there was a problem with the engine as even the slightest of hills would make the engine strain. In addition, at one point, after putting the car in reverse, the car would not move at at all as if it was sin neutral. I tried many things to get it going again but finally had to turn it off and back on to be able to drive. When I visited a Budget rental store in Victoria to exchange the car with another (I had no confidence in the car), they told me they were a franchise and could not do anything about it (poor customer service?).
When we got the car, we found someone else’s rental agreement in the glove box and their matching credit card left in the console in the middle. Our flight was changed by just a little bit so we requested an extra hour and a half with the car instead of dropping off at 8:30 AM we have to drop it off at 10 AM and they told us they would charge us an extra day plus insurance plus taxes to keep it till 10. We just wanted to take the kids for breakfast before the flight so that was disappointing. The representative at pick up was a little cold and not very pleasant to deal with wasn’t necessarily rude. But the representative at drop off was very kind.
Pickup drop off was fast upgraded car for free
Nice car, good price and friendly and professional attendant.
1 - Nothing 2- Unhelpful and rude staff
Drop off location difficult to find parking and resulted in us getting a ticket for 88.00
The experience getting it was terrible. They don’t have enough vans to collect people from the terminal we had to wait over 30 mins and every other company drove by multiple times. We then had to wait in a long line to get our car. They just don’t have enough staff. Our car wasn’t washed when we picked up just rinsed it. The tires on the car were bald we slid in wet weather. No wiper fluid on the car.
