Pros:
We were traveling with 7people and renting 2 cars. We had 6 very large pieces of luggage and 6 small bags. I figured there was no way we would get 2, five passenger vehicles to move all that luggage and 7 people and Alamo/Enterprise gave us there 2 cars with the biggest trunks and it worked perfect.Cons:
The X insurance is expensive but the piece of mind made it necessary since driving in Ire is chaotic. Also, rented GPS was worthless since it did not recognize places, only addresses and in Ireland, addresses are only a convenience. The cell apps work much better, best pay for cell service in Ire.Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Cons:
the representative did not want to take the excess on my credit card and force me to take an insurance . so intead of 60 euros, the rental fees end up reaching 200 euros. the representative said I had to have a letter from my credit card issuer telling they agree to cover the full value of the car , she said the car is worth 30 000. they abuse customers which arrive in a fragile postiion. i have to rent car to visit my daughter in Ireland and such fees are to high for the family budget. They charged me 30eur....that's about 36 us dollars...for "waiving "their insurance because my credit card covered me extensively....they never mentioned there would be a fee. We arrived 2 hours late, due to air delays to find the Hertz pickup location closed (at 2pm). There was no notification on how to pick up our car. Instead, we had to wait until the next morning at 9am to return to Hertz to find out that they did not have our car.10.0 Wonderful

We were charged an extra drop fee of 65 Euros even though the original quote included this fee (verified by the US Budget office). When I questioned the local pickup office in Cork, they said to take it up with Kayak. We were also given a smaller vehicle than requested - a Nissan Juke, versus the intermediate Toyota Corolla or similar. We had a hard time fitting 3 people and three bags and it was supposed to fit 5 people with 3 bags. We then inquired about a different car and was told it would cost more.4.0 Mediocre

The staff explained that the insurance was not part of the rental agreement and I would have to pay separately. This was not the fault of the car rental company and they remained helpful and professional in their dealings with me.Cons:
The offer from Kayak did not include insurance, which I had to purchase at the desk and more than doubled the cost of the rental. This is a total rip off as the offer presented didn't stipulate this . Incidentally if I had hired directly from the car hire company it would have been much cheaper.2.0 Poor

Showed up to pick up the car I booked online for 86 euros and the man wanted a 5,000.00 Euro deposit for the car because I decline insurance because I have international coverage through my policy here in canada. I said I don't have that kind of money so how much for the car with insurance? I was quoted 571 euros. Remember I booked it online for 86. My Irish boyfriend asked what if i put it on my credit card and drive what is your best price? They dropped 250.00 euros off the rental price. At that point it was clearly discriminatory and subjective so we Did not rent a car and his sister drove us around for the week. How many other people have they ripped off with their insurance scam? The car was clean at pickup and came with a full tank.Cons:
We were quoted $331 by booking online. At pickup, our total came to $846 after all taxes and ‘required insurances.’ I’d asked to drop the insurances because my VISA benefits from my credit union would provide coverage, however, they then added cancellation fees that made cancelling not worth the trouble. Will not be using Payless/Budget or Kayak ever again.Dollar
