Cons: "It was delayed, stewardess not friendly"
Pros: "Journey was good"
Cons: "Air lingus checked on my bag under someone else's name, now I am stuck in San Diego with no luggage and no answer as to where my bag is, very disappointed"
Pros: "Friendly cabin crew."
Cons: "My baggage is still missing a week after my flight arrived and no news about it. I can't get in touch with anyone from the airline or who can help me. Pretty terrible experience."
Pros: "Most attendants were good, good choices on entertainment"
Cons: "Our attendant was less that helpfully, refused to provide a blanket suggesting that my wife get her own. Locked the lavatorys and had we to ask the good attendant to open for line of folks next to our seats. Never smiled once, maybe her new braces hurt but no excuse. Sorry sound guaility on movies was also poor"
Pros: "I had not pre-ordered a vegetarian meal, and there were no extras, but one of the flight attendants gave me a fruit salad from one of the crew's meals."
Cons: "The sound quality for the announcement system and the headphones was really bad, so I could never understand what anyone was saying. The crew is very formal and sometimes curt and borderline rude. They just seem very inflexible and seem to put rules before people."
Pros: "Truly lovely employees at every step of the trip Tasty food!"
Pros: "Very friendly and cheerful staff."
Cons: "Boarding was chaotic; there was little to no crowd management. Row numbers were called to board the plane before the staff even seemed ready to receive them. There was no vegetarian meal option, and my in-flight entertainment completely ceased functioning less than halfway through the flight."
Cons: "Please fix the flight progress map feature!"
Cons: "The plane was dirty and old, the food horrible, cramped seats, dirty and non functioning bathrooms, stressed out and inattentive staff, poor coordination of seating families together (I was told my seat was given to a woman so she could sit with her adult daughter...I wasn't asked, just told), the flight was 1.5 hour delayed, my bag was lost because the incompetent staff member in Italy didn't give me a bording pass for the Dublin to LA flight (I'm still waiting over 24 hours later to find out what's happened to my luggage). Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"
Pros: "Crew members communicated well and were highly attentive to customer needs. Una's crew did a fine job. Kayak reservation system leaves fliers defenseless to a barrage of changing schedules/gates and confirmation codes. An absolute mess that raises customer anxiety unnecessarily. I never was able to check-in successfully online. Thankfully Aer Lingus was ready to deal with this situation."
Pros: "Everything except delays"
Cons: "Everything was really great except 3 out 4 of my flights were delayed"
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants!"
Cons: "Inflight entertainment needs upgrades: better options and better performing screens."
Pros: "More comfortable, on time."
Cons: "Food was edible and crew accommodating for extra water"
Pros: "Crew was friendly and helpful. I require gluten free meals and was accommodated with meals and snacks."
Cons: "Sound on entertainment was terrible. I couldn't understand dialogue and background noises was too loud. Gave up after 10 minutes and read the books I had brought on board. I understand having to pay for alcohol but it would have been nice to get a wine with dinner for no charge."
Cons: "The flight was cancelled"
Pros: "No complaints."
Cons: "Internet was pricey."
Pros: "The crew was nice."
Cons: "The snack was really bad."
Pros: "Got in to Boston ahead of schedule, safe and sound"
Cons: "Unable to check in on line 24 hours before the flight . Unable to hear sound on any of the 3 movies I tried."
Pros: "I will say the Airline seems to run a very professional operation."
Cons: "They NEVER transferred my luggage to my final destination. We spent four days in Dublin without our luggage. Aer Lingus still is looking for it according to their web site. We found it here in Fort Lauderdale right where we departed from. As one can imagine, it makes for a terrible trip when your missing your things. Especially warm clothes..."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful and after becoming ill after eating the meal, one of the flight attendants was extremely nice and checked in on me from time to time to give me water."
Cons: "The special meal I received actually made me quite ill. I highly recommend bringing your own food on board or purchasing the snacks on the flight instead."
Pros: "Everything was great especially being able to go thru US customs in Dublin !"
Cons: "The seats are just not big enough for my family ,no legroom and to narrow ."
Cons: "The crew looked completely unhappy. There was only one crew member smiling. The flight was delayed by about an hour due to food. I feel if we are paying for a flight that is 7+ hours the crew should at the very least fake a smile."
Pros: "Unlike many of the American carriers I have flown on, there was not a single flustered, surly, or unhelpful employee with whom I had contact. They were friendly, helpful, and respectful. I highly recommend this airline."
Cons: "There was nothing I didn't like."
Pros: "The personnel involved with wheelchair services who took us to our gate was very helpful and engaging. We thank them for this service. The gate personnel and flight attendants were helpful to get us on the flight earlier that was helpful with my husband" visual disability."
Pros: "Nice entertainment system on seat backs with USB charger on the Dublin-Newark leg."
Cons: "Aer Lingus partners with UNITED for the Newark-Orlando leg. Flight was overbooked by 20 people and another 20 were on standby. My luggage didn't travel with me so it didn't arrive in Orlando when I did. I was fortunate that it made the next flight so I only had to wait an hour. Some fellow Irish passengers weren't so lucky."
Cons: "We were not seated together. Unable to choose seats in advance or contact them in advance by phone as closed for holiday."
Cons: "The problem I had is that this was not a British Airways flight, nor were my flights to Dublin. I was not aware of this. When I checked in online I was allowed to check in with British Airways, so I had no idea that this was an Aer Lingus flight, which is in a different terminal with a different flight number. My phone didn't work in Ireland so it was extremely difficult figuring out where I should have been. If I was on a different airline that is affiliated with British Airways, and I booked through British Airways, there should be some way of looking up where I should be going. Also, any emails about my trip should have told me which airline I was on. I fly often, and often to other countries. This was the most confusing and difficult flying experience (the entire trip -- getting to and from Dublin) I have ever had."
Pros: "The crew was pleasant and the food was delicious"
Cons: "We arrived in Toronto from Dublin to get our connecting flight with two very tired children and were told by Air Canada that our connecting flight was never booked by Aer Lingus. We were told that the flight we were supposed to be on was full and there was no flights until the next morning. To top it off Air Canada could not locate our baggage and we were told to wait around and check back every half hour. If was past two in the morning Dublin time and our kids were exhausted and fell esleep in the airport. We could not wait around any longer with exhausted children so we booked a hotel and took our kids there without our luggage. Our kids were crying because our baggage was lost and thus was a shitty way to end our vacation and my birthday! Would not recommend flying with Aer Lingus or Air Canada. Horrible service."
Pros: "The flight staff were professional and friendly."
Cons: "No complimentary beer and wine on a trans-Atlantic flight? What's up with that? The food was ordinary at best."
Cons: "3 hour delay without good communication"
Pros: "From the ticket counter rep to the flight attendants, everything about this airline represents professionalism and excellent customer service."
Pros: "The crew was courteous."
Cons: "The food tray serving was small . I was too shy to ask for more."
Pros: "That long flight was awesome! So many extra seats to choose from and I could spread out. The crew was very polite as well. Lastly the movie selection was great!"
Cons: "I would change the headphone jack on the seats to standard size to allow people to use their own headphones."
Pros: "same as above"
Cons: "same as above"
Cons: "No vegetarian option for meals"
Pros: "The crew where generally attentive smiling and pleasant."
Cons: "An"overly"rushed tone was being set in the airport,by the boarding pass stating a well past gate-closure time. The monitor reinforced this by stating "gate closed"or not listing that flight at all. By the service of hot beverage, although my fellow passenger with coffee was spilled upon, neither he nor l was offered drink. The both of us were also overlooked at the serving of the snack. The originating voyage, was also punctuated by a large spillage of food by the flight attendant on my leg, with barely an apology."
Pros: "Near empty flight, excellent entertainment selection, good food when served, low fare"
Cons: "Infrequent food (last meal was served very late and everyone was hungry), you have to pay for alcohol and extra food, touch screens are low quality, entertainment audio quality is poor with old headphone jacks, generally older plane"
Pros: "Very professional crew, easy flight, very comfortable. I would recommend this airline to anyone"
Pros: "Great tv/movie options"
Cons: "Seats were crowded/tight"
Pros: "On time service Courtesy Hostess/s"
Cons: "Leg room is minimal..."
Pros: "Great price for biz seat with all amenities. I was initially concerned I was going to fly the older A330-300 without the new lie flat seats. But was pleasantly surprised to get one of 2 Capt. Kirk seats in 3K. Similar to JetBlue seats, except JetBlue has a privacy partition that slides close. Food was good, not great, though wine choices were quite nice. Wished they had wider tea selection."
Cons: "Service felt rushed in business class, possibly because it's a short flight from DUB to JFK."
Cons: "Delay in identifying boarding gate, had to wait in the common area until knowing which gate to go to and some gates were in opposite directions from others."
Pros: "Excellent service. Lots of help from crew"
Pros: "The flight attendants were very helpful and friendly. I loved the prescreening in Dublin for U customs and passport control so that we din't have to go through that in San francisco. That was fantastic."
Cons: "The vegetarian meals i and my husband ordered for the round trip by my speaking to an Are Lingus rep for the flight from SFO to Dublin when we booked our seat assignments were not available. The attendants managed to find me a veg meal, but not my husband. This was totally unacceptable on a 12 hour flight!!!! and we had trouble getting the meals on this return flight too, even though i had called and confirmed they were available. When we got the food the quality was poor. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the smallest seats I have yet to encounter, and I do a lot of flying. My back is still hurting."
Pros: "Connecting through Dublin to the US, you go through US customs in Dublin. This means you don't need to go through after landing in the US which makes it easier. Only issue is that there are fewer amenities after go through US PreClearance in Dublin. Make sure to do any shopping and eating before going through PreClearance. The entertainment system makes the time go by quicker with a good selection of viewing choices. Each passenger gets their individual entertainment system."
Cons: "Food was Ok nothing great."
Pros: "Excellent service!"
Pros: "Clearing US customs in Dublin on return flight a real bonus. Smooth connections in Dublin."
Cons: "Zero dark thirty departure time at LHR was challenging. Departure lounges in T2 lacked amenities."
Pros: "It's direct and gets you there."
Cons: "The crew were fake smiley but I could tell they were irritated. Several requests for water went ignored. Wifi didn't work and they were slow and unhelpful to try to fix."
Pros: "Was cheap"
Cons: "Was very late"
Pros: "Cheap flight Friendly staff"
Cons: "Cabin was pretty cramped, no leg room No entertainment Food N/A"
Pros: "Nice crew and flight in time"
Cons: "Uncomfortable plane"
Pros: "Tickets were cheap"
Cons: "Seats don't recline, extra charges on bags and boarding passes and the website is not clear enough to prepare people for this. some attendants in Rome on our way out were very rude. They charged us then made us feel dumb. I think they deal with a lot of unhappy people and this could be fixed by simply improving website/check in clarity."
Pros: "On time it's the most important point."
Cons: "It is low cost, don't expect anything special."
Pros: "Ryan air is the stuff of nightmares. I checked in online and bought my luggage online as it's more expensive at the airport. The check in never registered online although the luggage did and I was forced to pay 45 euro at the airport to CHECK IN. You go in wanting a budget flight and they take you for all your money. The flights are cramped and seats small. Which is fine if you've paid 10-30 euros (flight with luggage) but their added other costs are a disgusting attack on budget travelers!"
Cons: "First, I tried to check-in online but their system was down. I outsmarted them because I took several screen shots of different timelines. When I checked-in at their counter, they wanted to charged me €40. The lady wouldnt believe me when I told her that I tried to checkin online for 2 hours but their system was down. That's when I showed her the photo of the screen shot, she called someone on the phone telling him or her of the situation and that I have proof of screenshots. They finally allowed me to check-in with no fee. Second, When I dropped my 3 luggages, they wanted to charge me for my 2 check luggage allowances. I told the lady that I bought online for 3 luggages allowances, but their system only showed that I only bought one. It took several minutes for them to realized that I was right. Third, maybe because of my lack of sleep and tired of travelling for over a month, i left my shoulder bag under the seat of the plane. My fiancee's and my passports as welk.as £500, smart tablet, camera, credit cards, jewelries and other personal belongings were inside my bag. That day was the last day of our 40days vacation. When I got outside of the terminal, that's when I realized that I left my bag on the plane. I went quickly to Ryan air desk but the lady told me that we have to go to the lost item counter and wait for my bag to show up. I waited the whole afternoon at the lost item counter and the lady there told me to just call them and ask if my bag has showed up. When I got to the hotel, I called the airline for rebooking on my flight back to my country. I went back the next day to the airport, but my bag has not showed up at the lost item counter. I was able to get the contact numbers of Ryan air in-charge of this matter. I requested someone to call the person in cbarge, telling him that my bag couldnt be lost because of strict security inside the airport, after a long wait, they finally said they found my bag. I waited 1 hour for Ryan air staff to turn over my bag to the lost item coiunter. When I finally got my bag, there were only £40 left in my bag and a piece of jewelly was missing. I will fly back to my country today and I will file a formal complain with Ryan air as well as write the CEO or President of Ryan air of the way he runs the business. I'm glad I got back our passports but the whole world should know about how Ryan air run their business. PLEASE,.STAY AWAY FROM RYAN AIR."
Pros: "The flight attendants wont stop talking the whole flight, the temperature is so cold and the lights are never turned off, which makes it impossible for you to sleep on the plane."
Pros: "Gave 1 star for food & entertainment as didn't buy food and of course too short for entertainment Would fly again with Ryan Air if they didn't insist on a printer boarding pass, too difficult."
Cons: "Having to print out a boarding pass is almost impossible when travelling as no access to a printer. The check-in area at Dublin as poor signage as I needed to get my booking pass stamped & passports checked The seats didn't recline & because I am not tall the head rest curve pushes my head forward (on most planes) have gap behind neck so very uncomfortable only helped by reclining seat. Boarding messy as no seat order called hence isles blocked, most planes load back seats first keeping isles free, this plane had back & front stair gangways but weren't told."
Cons: "Over crowded. Uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The comfort of the plane, it was over crowded with no air on the plane. Getting on and off the plane took entirely way to long."
Pros: "Extremely efficient self service bag drop. Not as harsh as last time I flew with them many years ago. Was reluctant to fly them again but decided to give them another try since price was much better than others. Was pleasantly surprised."
Cons: "Seats do not recline."
Pros: "Cheap, efficient, works!"
Cons: "Customer service is just bad. We had to self check in and self drop bag. We intentionally went to a lady to help us she said "this is self check in and you have to do it alone", in the process we had a mistake so she asked "why did you do that, the machine told you not to" - that's exactly how you should NOT treat your customers. We thought our luggage will not arrive - and she was rude and stressing us out. 0/10 for her"
Pros: "The flight crew seemed very professional. The cabin crew was very polite and courteous."
Cons: "The cabin crew seemed very disorganized. As was the boarding process. People were standing during some pretty good turbulence. I am a captain on a foreign carrier. Letting the pax be that uncontrolled endangers others also."
Pros: "The price was right. ...at least until I figured out that my checked bag cost twice as much as my airfares ticket!"
Cons: "I think maybe I should have flown on Aer Lingus instead. Next time I will do more research. Absolutely nothing is free on Ryan. The only free thing is your carry on bag. Food, drinks, prearranged seat assignment, etc. all cost money."
Cons: "I have flown budget airlines before, but this takes it to a new level. I would frankly pay more to not have to be nickeled and dimed."
Cons: "Cattle car approach. Cost saving is commendable. Charging for EVERYTHING is not."
Pros: "The flight was very late and then the gate information came up almost as the flight was boarding."
Cons: "Lack of boarding information"
Pros: "Boarding from both ends of the airplane was great and the staff was very polite/helpful."
Cons: "High prices for poor food with NOTHING for vegetarians (I've been told veggie selections ended up...?!?)"
Pros: "The whole process went smoothly"
Cons: "Temperature changes very contrasting. Ok in terminal, boiling hot waiting on staiwell, cool walk to plane."
Pros: "It was short so there wasn't much to do, no screens or anything but that was fine. I thought it was great."
Cons: "I think it was a bit overcrowded. There wasn't a lot of space for people and some had to put their bags at the back of the plane."
Cons: "Ryan air's cold blooded policies"
Pros: "Fast and on time departure"
Cons: "Cramped, noisy and had to wait until thirty minutes to departure to have gate id'd then upon arrival found long lines? Not sure how that happened"
Cons: "Over 1 hour delay! Really terrible"
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "Couldn't understand over the loud speaker.. Boarding was awful-waiting standing. Touch down was scary"
Pros: "We arrived to our destinations, and so did our bags. Good! And crew were all friendly."
Cons: "But this budget airline feels so in every sense. Boarding is from Tarmac, even coffee or tea costs checked bag, and weight limits are low, boarding is chaotic, no flight entertainment... By the time we paid for all our bags and did the whole dance of moving items from bag to bag to meet limits, we could have probably picked a better airline and had more comfort. They have a policy to charge for musical instruments, and even though there was space, on our return flight we were forced to check it, which we mostly try to avoid for safety of instrument...the way out no issue, the way back we got a stickler. Overall, for single travelers who don't care where you sit and just have a small bag, go for it. Trying to shoehorn a family of four plus instrument led to several up charges and annoying encounters at airport. I'll avoid next time."
Cons: "Excessive luggage fee of 50 euro"
Pros: "Leg room, we sat at the exit row"
Cons: "It was never made clear that there would be extra fees with Ryanair by checking in at the airport. We had no Internet connection in Dublin and therefore no opportunity to check in beforehand online, nor see that these fees would be charged: this is entirely unique to this awful airline. Got stuck with a 45€ fee per person. They also claimed that a tiny meal was included, so we ordered paninis, only to be charged 10€ per sandwich. Ridiculous. And they have the gall to claim to be the "low fare airline"--never again will we fly with Ryanair."
Cons: "Lines were ridiculously long and system was down. They claim to be the cheap airline but can't even give us a free carry on. Never again."
Pros: "On time and speedy boarding"
Cons: "everything was for purchase on the plane. No complimentary drinks. And a lot of selling on the plane. My flight was selling scratch tix for charity"
Cons: "Baggage delayed 45 minutes"
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The delay"
Cons: "Our backpacks cost as much as our tickets. I probably will use them again, though."
Cons: "We checked in online and printed out our boarding passes. They do not post the departure gate till an hour before the flight so we waited in a long line to Get on the plane. When we reached the front of the line they wouldnt take our printed tickets because they didn't have a stamp. (Note) The flight was departing in 15 min. We and about 11 other passengers were turned away for the same reason. We had to get completely out of the airport go through customs, security and check in ALL OVER AGAIN and be charged an extra $150. When we told the airport personnel what was happening they couldn't believe it. We missed the flight and got charged extra! DO NOT FLY WITH THEM! They will look for any reason to take your money!"
Cons: "Unruly Irish football fans. Loud, obnoxious. When we landed in LGW 10 stood up to exit while the plane was still moving. Delayed exit."
Pros: "Crew was great. Professional, funny."
Cons: "Very cramped in the plane. Stood for an hour at the gate, not enough seats. Stood on Tarmac in the rain."
Pros: "Flight crew was nice."
Cons: "Seats are uncomfortable. They charged me 50 euro and checked my bag because it was 2 inches wider. Lines are long and slow to board."
Pros: "Started on time, landed on time, loaded fast. low price. About what I expected."
Cons: "Felt like I was at a carnival as they were selling for much of the flight (snacks, drinks, catalog sales, etc). I never checked luggage, but it would not have been an inexpensive flight if I had to check my bag. Also, you MUST check in online or there is another big fee."
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "I paid online for a checked bag and they made me pay for it again at the airport. Staff at the airport wasn't very friendly."
Cons: "I was told I didn't make a on-line checking, and I was forced to pay 45 euro extra. That was nasty. You should have told more clearly about the on-line checkin."
Pros: "Seats were reasonable size, fast deplaning"
Cons: "Instead of waiting for gate to be announced / listed on departure board it could have somehow told us to go to general area of Ryanair gates. Checking of pre-paid bags bags was slow; disorganized Plane was late and agents offered no explanations. Ryanair demands much of their customers - plane was late so why no reward back to passengers? Not used to walking on Tarmac - not so bad except in poor weather like a snowstorm at Hahn."
Cons: "Delayed 2,hours"
Pros: "Cheap price"
Pros: "nothing in special"
Cons: "many delay"
Pros: "I about got what I paid for and Ryan does have some good prices. I am not limited to specific dates so I can usually shop for a price that matches what little I expect to receive. Ryan is far better than Jet Blue, Iberia Express and Easy Jet for carry on luggage. I won't fly those others regardless of price - their additional charges for my purse-sized bag of medical equipment would have cost me more than the ticket while others were allowed to take larger bags of airport-ripoff-junk from "duty free" shops at no charge. Fortunately I had time before my early morning flight to unpack and throw away clothes and a leather bag before my flight. Ryan rates better than those companies."
Cons: "Most of the staff are only civil to you if you are giving them money or are getting on or off the plane. They don't act like they like their jobs. The employer is usually the reason for that and the customer usually suffers the consequences. Everyone involved can see the elephant in the room except managers and corporate heads (who are usually too full of themselves to think rationally about where the money comes from.) The seating is uncomfortable enough that I can't take a flight over two or three hours. Fortunately I havent had too. I have low expectations and am rarely surprised. Like buying trinkets from China, the cheaper the product the higher the profit ratio. I still buy so I guess I feel I am getting what I pay for."
Pros: "the flight got to edinburgh at least..."
Cons: "air fare for my wife and I was a total 50.00eu. 2 golf bags 50+eu each. get to the airport and my 2 checked bags cost me another 40.00eu each. like I said. a rip off!!"
Pros: "The boarding process was no nonsense and quick."
Cons: "The fine print of extra fees is beyond comprehension. My 25 Euro trip ended up costing an additional 200 euro for one bag, a boarding pass, and counter service. In addition, the in flight service charged for basic water and packaged coffee. I will not fly this airline again."
Pros: "Nothing good to say. Not one redeeming quality in the whole experience."
Cons: "First, they don't warn you that they will charge 45 euro to check in at the airport (which in our case was more than the ticket). Since we had no wifi or cell service while traveling to check in, we had to pay the extra. In addition, by the time you are checking in there, you no longer have an option to check in online (must be done 2 hours before boarding). Then every person along the way is unfriendly, unhelpful and sometimes outright rude. Pay the extra for a better airline. They end up getting it from you in extra charges anyway. Not even a free drink of water on the flight. And the last half of the flight they kept trying to get us to buy lotto tickets. I will never fly this terrible airline again."
Pros: "Coffee was good. Staff pleasant."
Cons: "Flight was delayed landing due to fog - not Ryanair's fault. Don't like the food onboard much."
