The boarding process and flight was smooth and punctual
We were stuck on the plane for over an hour after we landed in Munich without enough updates on the situation. We waited for the stairs and bus to come then when we got to the terminal our bags did not come and I had to get my baggage shipped. This was very inconvenient and there was not any notification for the baggage delay.
Our flight was cancelled and rebooked for 6 hours later. We did not get notification of this change. My gluten free meal was not on the flight that was changed. All the airline reps that I spoke with were very unhelpful.
Announcements were made in Japanese, English, and Thai. We were warned about turbulence several times in all languages. Flight to Bangkok from Tokyo had a USB port to charge my iphone, but flight back to Tokyo did not. Service from cabin attendants was excellent. One apologized twice for running out of the lunch selection I wanted to have, even though I was happy with the chicken curry. Courteous staff and pleasant experience, even with a competitive airfare. I would fly JAL again.
I wish it truly were Finnair instead of American: The seat, the legroom, the fact that you have to pay 20% more to have the same rotten seat 12 rows further up front, the food that's barely fit for human consumption, the presence of 20 year old cathode screens that can't be watched but do prevent the cabin being dark, etc.
The fact that I got home in one piece I really like.
Planes are old, small tv screens in aisles, older seats and headrests. I had requested Gluten Free meals and on the way to Amsterdam they did okay (besides the snacks). On the way back they didn't even offer me the second meal GF, I had to ask another flight attendant who went looking for it and found one.. so it was there, they just hadn't bothered to look for it. I also never understand why you wouldn't start boarding with the last rows? Is that just me? The aisles are always so crowded when the last rows walk in and there's always a line.
clean. Seat covers nice and clean. furniture color scheme pleasant.
1. Seat distance by far too less.
2. seat width on the borderline of being acceptable.
3.. No entertainment, not even a flight info screen available.
4. Only instant coffee available. If it is instant, cappuccino or other café specialities should be available. Emirates and Etihad make the example.
5. Food okay - but not for french airline. No innovation, no thought in it. Standard "how do I get the cattle fed the cheapest possible" food.
6. Electrical / USB / Network plugs or WIFI unknown.
I found the crowded squashed seating very uncomfortable, , the 380 from Dubai to UK was wonderful, the relaxed atmosphere was great, more leg room, and the staff were extremely pleasant, not sure I want to fly in a 777 again terribly claustrophobic .
Overall I would highly recommend it. Excellent service, good food, good on board entertainment.
Flight attendants and crew in general very polite and very helpful.
Despite our delay in arriving at the airport (check in was done online in advance), the flight attendants accepted us for the trip. The whole process was extremely efficient, there was no delay in take off time and the suitcases arrived all on time to our destination. I really appreciated their help: we did have a medical emergency 3 hours prior to our arrival to the airport, hence the delay..
Everything went smoothly, I had no bad experience with this flight..
The crew woman that assist us in Barcelona Airport counters for the check-in was really rude asking very personal question that I still don't understand why and questioning our passports without any reason. My partner and I felt very uncomfortable and that was a totally unnecessary situation.
After that everything was totally great during the flight.
Liked the efficient way a very drunk man was dealt with- he was however obviously very drunk (coud hardly stand) and gained access to his seat before a fellow passenger drew attention to his condition with the cabin staff. He was not allowed to travel.
All flight attendants were very friendly. Their polished appearance showed a level of professionalism that can sometimes be lacking with certain airlines. The seats featured foot and neck rests which provided some extra comfort during our long flight. Having a large selection of movies to watch in my personal monitor was fantastic. If I had the opportunity to choose Japan Airlines again, I definitely would.
Our flight from Bangkok to Tokyo had WiFi for purchase, but our flight from Tokyo to Hawaii did not. Had I known, I would not have purchased a 24 hour plan. There was some turbulence during the flight (some continued for over 30 minutes). I am used to the captain or crew of the plane making an announcement to passengers about what is happening and when to expect "relief", but there was no communication. Just an added touch to make passengers feel better.
I can't even choose what did I like the most about this flight, I was in economy but felt like I was traveling in business...
The crew was excellent, the flight was quiet and calm, great food,..... And so on.
The attitude of the crew, not friendly, the lady next to me had to ask 3 times to get her glass of water
Very average, I was dissapointed as Emirates is the best company I flew with and Qantas does not have the same quality and service standards
Flight departed 30 minutes late (due to a delay with the inbound flight)but a short flight time enabled the delay to be recovered and we landed in FRA on time. A very long taxi (30 minutes) made connection time for my next flight to be very tight.
Why do LH insist on serving the 2nd meal/beverage service in economy class until 50 minutes before the flight lands? I suspect they would argue it allows passengers to have greater rest however in Y class the passengers are awake long before......could I suggest serving the snack earlier as it prevents a very rushed service as trays are collected and cabin secured very near to the actual landing?
Some payment fees are estimated. Not all providers support all payment methods.
