"ryanair.... +2h late departure.... at least it didn't crash"
Pros: "Cheap, saved me when I was in a pinch, and easy check in. I loved being able to check in on the app and check my own bag!"
Cons: "It was difficult to understand what the flight attendants were saying over the intercom. Between the masks and the intercom, nothing came across well. Please continue to wear masks, but perhaps find a clearer way to communicate for those of us that are hard of hearing. I was too embarrassed to say “what!?” 84 times. It’s not their fault."
Pros: "Staff on Ryanair always pleasant and good good, flight smooth and always on time"
Cons: "Nothing about this Flught I didn’t like"
Pros: "Not super comfortable"
Cons: "Snacks/Drinks for free"
Cons: "No issues"
Pros: "Used tissue stuck in the seat from previous flight ."
Pros: "Took off on time"
Cons: "Random seat allocation due to not paying the extra fee?"
Pros: "I slept as soon as I found my seat - as did Mr. (very) Longleg next to me. Could not lean back, but never mind, it was a short flight."
Cons: "taking a cheap flight - take it or leave it. I'll do it again."
Pros: "Seat not too cramped. We didn't get lost - as BA flight did recently!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed! Info re delay was limited."
Pros: "Decent enough flight, seats comfortable enough for short haul wouldn’t want to go long haul on the same seats, good selection of onboard snacks"
Cons: "Flight was half hour late, priority seats should be reserved for the first seats on the plane rather than scattered all over the plane, suitcases shouldnt be allowed on board they take up too much space for anyone else and slow down the boarding of the plane as people attempt to haul them up the stairs, some staff could be more polite and less abrupt and some could attempt to speak louder and clearer"
Cons: "Crew at baggage drop/departure gate seemed that they didn't want to be there and they were not very pleasant to the people boarding. Ryan Air had changed their baggage policy after we booked. Originally allowed one carry on and one personal bag. Now you have to purchase priority to take both"
Pros: "Ryanair still don’t have enough leg room for taller people. Very uncomfortable. Cheap but not that cheerful if you’re over 6 ft"
Cons: "More leg room or exit seats for taller people"
Pros: "Crew were good considering the difficult situation they found themselves in"
Cons: "Once everyone had boarded we were told we would be on the tarmac for 2 hours before we leave. While we sat there we were told they could not serve us anything while on the ground...even water! When we finally were airborne the crew were overwhelmed with customer orders and not all people got served"
Pros: "Just ok"
Cons: "Nothing to complain, no delays."
Pros: "The crew was kind and respectful."
Cons: "Ryanair hides a lot of hidden costs and inabilities through their site. I had to pay extra for the luggage that I didn't know about."
Cons: "a series of frustrating events, all of which i had to pay for, none of which were justified"
Pros: "Online Check-in early"
Cons: "flight takeoff was delayed by an hour. No explanation was given at all"
Cons: "We spent a lot of time standing in lines."
Cons: "The price of my ticket had nothing low cost. It was $300 for a one way Rome - Paris. Since I never fly with Ryan air, I had no idea you had to check in online. Otherwise they charge you a 55 euro fee for a normal check in at the airport. It’s written in very small letters at the end of the confirmation email they send you. You obviously don’t see it unless you scroll down 10 times all the way to the bottom of the email. This is called a rip off. This should be mentioned all the way at the top near the confirmation number. So I had no choice but paying that fee. I’m sure I’m not the first person this happened to. These thieves must make a lot of money with this. The other bad surprise was that the arrival airport was so far from the center of the city, I paid 120 euros with Uber to get home versus 45 euros when flying into the main Paris airports. Overall, it becomes the same price than flying with Air France."
Pros: "Tickets were Cheap."
Cons: "The flight attendants weren’t friendly and had a bad attitude. They were not helpful at all."
Pros: "Crew attentive and helpful"
Cons: "Having to pay for drinks. Even water. Other carriers you get food and drinks free. Ryanair might say it's cost saving but readjust can do it. And £3 for a bottle of water is ridiculous."
Pros: "Was on time"
Cons: "I've been using the same bag for years and never had to pay for luggage when flying Ryanair. My bag fits perfectly in those metal things they put in the airport. With plenty of room to spare. The lady at the check in said it was too big. Then I showed her how my bag fits with plenty of room to spare. But then she said it also needs to go up and down if I put it sideways. Basically my bag by volume is much smaller than the standard, but is about half centimeter wider. This was enough for her to force me to pay 50 Euros. I didn't believe I should pay but there was no option. It was either pay or not fly since boarding was almost finished. She made me sign a paper to"acknowledge" that my bag wasn't the right fit. I had no option. I really feel this treatment was un-dignifying. I will never fly with Ryanair again."
Pros: "Ryan Air 5.5 hrs Flight Delay from Glasgow, Scotland to Dublin, Ireland (Draft 2.1) Our flight from Glasgow, Scotland to Dublin Ireland on September 22nd with Ryan Air was delayed for 5.5 hrs (165 minutes) for unexplained reasons. We were supposed to depart at 3:25 pm and we actually departed at 8:55 pm when the plane actually began to move from the terminal to the runway. Over the ensuring 5.5 hr. delay there was no plausible reason given by gate staff or the bag check-in staff or the electronic flight board of daily departures in the Glasgow airport. Here is what we heard from all 3 communication sources stated in the previous sentence: • Seven (7) actual time delays of actual flight departure times (electronic flight board) ranging from: 3:25 pm, 4;30 pm; to be scheduled; moved to 5:15 pm; 6:30 pm; 8:00 pm; 9:00 pm; check with the gate. • Waiting for a plane to arrive......... • We have no idea...... • Waiting for a plane and a crew to arrive.... • Corporate is working on finding an available plane...... • I don't know....we will post the details when they are known to us..... The Scottish Times Newspaper (Sept. 21 or 22), reported that Ryan Air had allowed too many pilots to go on vacation at the same time which had made the entire flight schedule prone to long flight delays and numerous flight cancellations. What was reported on the various UK news shows was very different. Their were serious labor issues between Ryan Air's pilots and management, particularly Dennis O'Leary the CEO, over work conditions including pay and job performance. Those of us who read local UK newspapers had an inkling that the pot was boiling. However, as the actual departure delay went beyond the scheduled 3:23 pm, passengers were uneasy about our hotel rooms in our destination cities still being held and whether any drop-off family members should go home or be available if the flight was ultimately cancelled. What made it worse was Ryan Air realized that they were in violation of the European Union flight delay rule so they passed out FLIGHT DELAY POLICY to those waiting in line. The gate crew and the check-in folks outside security told us about having to provide all passengers two (2) free phone calls except that this would mean leaving security at the expected gate and going back to the Ryan Air check-in counter and back through security. A very arduous process one more time. Ryan Air has very arcane booking rules so if I change my checked baggage to a larger size, my only option was to add an additional piece of luggage at a very stiff cost. In our opinion, Ryan Air is a very poorly managed airline and the most customer-combative airline we have ever encountered in our many flights throughout the UK and Europe. Without hesitation, we would not recommend Ryan Air under any circumstances and would be willing to pay more with other carriers who take better care of their customers. Cons: "I felt it ironic that our two smallish rolling duffel bags were not the right parameters to take on board, and just enough over the weight limit to rack up bag charges of about 35 E ea, ea way between Dublin and Glasgow, so actually our luggage charge is more than our set of tickets for this particular trip. No wonder the owner's a billionaire--however, on the positive side, the pilot landed "like butter" in Glasgow AND we heard that the Ryanair owner actually does pay millions in taxes for the good of Ireland. (Sigh...)"
Pros: "I only had an hour to grab my luggage and my next boarding pass. I made it to my flight with over ten minutes to spare."
Cons: "Delayed flight without being told before boarding at Paris BVA"
Pros: "I didn't really have anything positive to say about Ryanair"
Cons: "The fact that a carry on on any other airline would be free except with Ryanair! Be prepared to pay extra for your carry on!"
Pros: "The flight was A-okay, but the experience leading up to it was not."
Cons: "First of all, the website is laid out in such a way that it's easy to make unnessasarry additional purchases. We ended up purchasing seats at the very back of the plane. We were unable to print our boarding tickets prior to checking in at the airport and after waiting in line for help, were directed to self help computers that we had to pay-to-use. These were not working and after lining up for help several more times (to get change to pump into the computers etc...) and sending off a 'chat help request we finally left and got a different clerk. While this second clerk was telling us we'd have to pay for her help, someone else overheard our challenges and took over from the clerk, printed our boarding tickets at no further charge and got us on our way. While we certainly appreciate the service at the end, it should never have come to that."
Pros: "it got me from A to B."
Cons: "Heavy landing and uncomfortable seat, but I do understand that it's a low cost airline. Emigration at the Berlin airport was unacceptably slow. My 7:20am flight got me to Berlin after 1pm, which is unacceptable."
Pros: "Head steward was very solicitous of my husband who was experiencing first signs of food poisoning. Allowed him to stand at front while passengers were boarding to get fresh air. Checked on him several times during the flight."
Cons: "Overcrowded and no leg room. Knees were up against the back seat of seat in front. There was NO SOAP in any of the three toilets! When I asked attendant the apologized but didn't have any. Gate person pulled us out of boarding line to make us check our bags even though our bags were smaller than most everyone else's carryons. We were the only ones that were checked. Can't help but feel that we were profiled as Americans.traveling."
Pros: "The crew on the actual flight was nice. Also, a kind and patient Ryanair employee helped us with check-in after our awful experience with their customer service desk."
Cons: "The customer service representative at the Dublin airport for Ryanair was extremely rude and was annoyed from the moment we stepped up to the desk. Yes, Ryanair is a budget airline but it costs $0 to be nice and helpful especially if you are working in customer service."
Pros: "Everyone was very nice, and the flight was uneventful. Will fly again and learned lesson about luggage fees."
Cons: "Had two bags to check. Paid for two bags in advance. Didn't know there was a total weight allowance across two bags. First bag ate up most of total weight allowance which forced me to pay for the overage on the second bag of €70. I thought I could bump up my second bag to the higher weight class when checking in instead of having to pay the overage charge that was three times as much. Found out during boarding they were checking bags for free...should have done carry on and avoided the extra costs."
Cons: "Extremely expensive to check your bags. If you prepay and the weight is over, you have to pay an additional 10 Euro for each kilogram over."
Cons: "Gum and candy wrappers stuck in the sides of the seat. Crew spoke poor English. Co-fliers were loud, drunk and unruly."
Cons: "First, I tried to check-in online but their system was down. I outsmarted them because I took several screen shots of different timelines. When I checked-in at their counter, they wanted to charged me €40. The lady wouldnt believe me when I told her that I tried to checkin online for 2 hours but their system was down. That's when I showed her the photo of the screen shot, she called someone on the phone telling him or her of the situation and that I have proof of screenshots. They finally allowed me to check-in with no fee. Second, When I dropped my 3 luggages, they wanted to charge me for my 2 check luggage allowances. I told the lady that I bought online for 3 luggages allowances, but their system only showed that I only bought one. It took several minutes for them to realized that I was right. Third, maybe because of my lack of sleep and tired of travelling for over a month, i left my shoulder bag under the seat of the plane. My fiancee's and my passports as welk.as £500, smart tablet, camera, credit cards, jewelries and other personal belongings were inside my bag. That day was the last day of our 40days vacation. When I got outside of the terminal, that's when I realized that I left my bag on the plane. I went quickly to Ryan air desk but the lady told me that we have to go to the lost item counter and wait for my bag to show up. I waited the whole afternoon at the lost item counter and the lady there told me to just call them and ask if my bag has showed up. When I got to the hotel, I called the airline for rebooking on my flight back to my country. I went back the next day to the airport, but my bag has not showed up at the lost item counter. I was able to get the contact numbers of Ryan air in-charge of this matter. I requested someone to call the person in cbarge, telling him that my bag couldnt be lost because of strict security inside the airport, after a long wait, they finally said they found my bag. I waited 1 hour for Ryan air staff to turn over my bag to the lost item coiunter. When I finally got my bag, there were only £40 left in my bag and a piece of jewelly was missing. I will fly back to my country today and I will file a formal complain with Ryan air as well as write the CEO or President of Ryan air of the way he runs the business. I'm glad I got back our passports but the whole world should know about how Ryan air run their business. PLEASE,.STAY AWAY FROM RYAN AIR."
Pros: "Price - boarding was good, especially considering plane was full."
Cons: "Punctuality - about 40 mins late both ways - I kinda factor that in now!!"
Cons: "The crew had to rush the announcements and introduction because of time restraints, this made it unintelliagable. The safety part was fine"
Pros: "Seating whilst waiting to board"
Cons: "On my flight from Leeds to Dublin the lack of seating whilst waiting to board"
Pros: "Cheap, quick, and safe flight."
Cons: "Because the tickets are so cheap, they try to get money out of you at every turn! They charged us $20 each to print our boarding passes at the airport (it wasn't enough to have them on our phones)! They make you pay to check a bag and you have to arrange it ahead of time (cannot ask to do it at the airport). They made a big fuss about the sizes of our bags and threatened to charge up to $55 per bag if they needed to check them at the gate! They have tiny compartments at the gate but our bags fit without any issues on the plane itself."
Cons: "Extra fees for luggage. Tiny seats w/out reclining"
Pros: "Flight attendants look and act with great professionalism. Boarding line was orderly, which doesn't always occur."
Cons: "I had just flown in on another Ryanair flight where I had stored my roll-on in the overhead bin. For the next leg the gate agent said my bag must fit in the "If it fits your bag flies free" container. It did not fit and he ignored my observation that it had fit in the bin just 30 minutes prior (identical planes Boeing 737 800). He charged me 50 Euros, delayed boarding, but remained courteous throughout. My complaint is that the unequal sizes of overhead bins and size-gauge allows for caprice and introduces tension between customer and agent. He was within his guidelines but many bags were allowed on that would not have fit. So does the company wish to continue a practice that alienates customers and places extra stress on gate agents? I'll never fly Ryanair until they eliminate this shell game."
Cons: "Excessive luggage fee of 50 euro"
Pros: "Leg room, we sat at the exit row"
Cons: "It was never made clear that there would be extra fees with Ryanair by checking in at the airport. We had no Internet connection in Dublin and therefore no opportunity to check in beforehand online, nor see that these fees would be charged: this is entirely unique to this awful airline. Got stuck with a 45€ fee per person. They also claimed that a tiny meal was included, so we ordered paninis, only to be charged 10€ per sandwich. Ridiculous. And they have the gall to claim to be the "low fare airline"--never again will we fly with Ryanair."
Cons: "We checked in online and printed out our boarding passes. They do not post the departure gate till an hour before the flight so we waited in a long line to Get on the plane. When we reached the front of the line they wouldnt take our printed tickets because they didn't have a stamp. (Note) The flight was departing in 15 min. We and about 11 other passengers were turned away for the same reason. We had to get completely out of the airport go through customs, security and check in ALL OVER AGAIN and be charged an extra $150. When we told the airport personnel what was happening they couldn't believe it. We missed the flight and got charged extra! DO NOT FLY WITH THEM! They will look for any reason to take your money!"
Pros: "Crew was great. Professional, funny."
Cons: "Very cramped in the plane. Stood for an hour at the gate, not enough seats. Stood on Tarmac in the rain."
Pros: "For the price, everything went well. We paid a lot for baggage and it had to be under 40 pounds but it all worked out. The flight was almost an hour delayed but the flight itself was fine."
Cons: "We were diverted to a different airport for a reason they said they didn't know. We then sat on a plane for an hour while they figured things out and let people off that wanted to get off. We then switched planes and sat on that plane for another 45 minutes because they missed 3 people who got off the plane earlier so their paperwork was all wrong. I understand that they may not have been all of ryanair's fault, however I feel like they could have handled the situation much better. We ended up getting to Gatwick about 2-2.5 hours late. There were 2 flights that left Dublin after us that got to Gatwick before us. They still never told us what they diverted. However we saw a couple Maintance guys looking under one of the wings the entire time we were there."
Cons: "Your check in process in Dublin is extremely confusing and it's absolutely ridiculous that you charge 45 euros PER PERSON if you need your boarding passes printed. The worst part is that the person who directed us to the line to get the boarding pass could have at the least mentioned we could save the money and check in on line to save the money. We were in the two hour window of time and would have been able to. We were shifted from line to line to line. Very disappointed. Unfortunately having to pay the 90 euro completely ruined the entire flight."
