Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Flight was late due to earlier mechanical error. These things happen but still annoying when they do. Crew didn’t seem too bothered."
Pros: "Everything about this booking was a disaster. Not the least of which is that my bags are still on London and are total travel time will end up being about 24 hours returning."
Pros: "Seats were better than the international leg."
Cons: "Everything. Offer at least a drink - all drinks were a charge. Staff was rude. Also they lost our luggage."
Pros: "Quick boarding, kind crew"
Cons: "All food and drinks for a cost. I had to run to make it to my gate which was quite a distance and a shuttle ride away."
Pros: "Crew was very friendly and boarding went smoothly and ontime."
Cons: "Seats are very close together. Young child behind me kicked the seat most of the way. Bags took a very long time to come out."
Cons: "2 hour delay on an hour flight"
Pros: "When I finally settled into my seat on the British Airline and that Hostess came around and offered me a couple of free drinks that was the best thing that happened to me all day."
Cons: "For an older couple like us did not like having to climb the steps up into the Plane and being out in the rain did not help. However that was not the worst part of the arrangement between getting off the Aer Lingus plane and with so little time to reach the gate for our BA flight to Denver it was a total disaster. Due to a minor problem my wife had with her foot I had asked for a wheel-chair to be available when we got off the plane at Heatrow. Good job that I did because with out their help we would never have made it in time for your flight to Denver. Between up and down in elevators, running along the corridors, in and out of a bus and I myself trying to catch up with those poor attendants. I was sorry that I did not get a second wheel chair for my self. Only for the flight was delayed by about 20 minutes we would have missed the flight. Who ever was responsible for making the arrangements of just allowing a time of 1 hour and 10 minutes between flights needs to figure out a better time schedule before people of our age ends up getting stressed out and end up with a heart attack. Very stressful indeed, believe I will never let this happen to me again. Fly/Us you need to fix this."
Pros: "I love Aer Lingus, they appear to be always on time and nice comfy seats. No problem boarding, was nice and quick."
Cons: "Nothing to not like at mo."
Pros: "Shannon is a very easy airport."
Cons: "I was unable to get my seats assigned from America. I had to go to the Aer Lingus desk when I arrived to get seat assignment."
Pros: "took off early once they had accounted for everyone, and arrived a little early too."
Cons: "While I didn't have to check my bag on the first longer flight, I did have to check it on the connecting flight which delayed me somewhat in getting into the city of London. Not awful, but strange... Free-for-all when boarding, not nearly as organized as it was at JFK."
Pros: "The efficient flight but no drinks or snacks w/o purchase"
Pros: "Flight was ok."
Cons: "No free food or drink service."
Pros: "Timeliness of flight and service on board."
Cons: "We upgraded 7 travelers for priority boarding. However as we got through check in, 2 of us were told we had to check our carry on. Mind you our carry on was the same size (exact same suitcase) as 2 others in our party who did not have to check in their bags? "Priority Boarding is now only €4.99. Be the first on board to store your cabin bag and relax in your seat before take-off." I believe I am entitled to a refund based on the info on above taken directly from the Aer Lingus website."
Pros: "Nice seats food was decent crew excellent"
Cons: "Not enough room"
Cons: "Free-for-all boarding was less than ideal. Boarding by seat rows as on Boston to Dublin flight would have been better."
Cons: "Short flight but had to pay for snacks or drinks on Aer Lingus."
Cons: "Missing connecting flight"
Pros: "Quick Boarding"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for an hour"
Pros: "Dublin airport is cold. Security between plane in correspondance area to crowded and unnecessary."
Cons: "The good part was that I paid for what i received. So anyway why do I complain."
Pros: "Ahead is schedule"
Cons: "Even had to pay for coffee"
Pros: "Boarding Gate crew were good."
Cons: "Seat cushions are worn out. Need new foam. Hostesses spent more time talking to each other during food and beverage service than to the passenger."
Cons: "Short flight so N/A on food and entertainment. Crew were much nicer and friendly than our first leg of the trip."
Cons: "It was like squeezing everyone into a cattle truck and airport crew double book seats of a few passengers on a full flight so there was confusion on board"
Pros: "On time delivery"
Cons: "How many seats can you cram in to an airline cabin? So tightly packed it indicates a base level of disregard by the company for their customers. And nothing offered that didn't cost (no coffee, water...)"
Pros: "Flight attendants were nice looking, very friendly, smelled nice they could not have been warmer people!!"
Cons: "Paying for beverages seemed a bit much."
Cons: "I can't actually make a comment on the food since u have to pay for it and I didn't want to. Nothing appealed enough to pay for it. Entertainment wise, there was no entertainment so I have it one star"
Cons: "Too cold"
Cons: "Not even free water"
Pros: "Friendly cabin crew."
Cons: "My baggage is still missing a week after my flight arrived and no news about it. I can't get in touch with anyone from the airline or who can help me. Pretty terrible experience."
Cons: "We arrived at Dublin airport two hours before our flight--as instructed--and had to enter an enormous line. Finally, we were instructed to leave the line after almost an hour and a half and were then informed that our tickets had been sold to someone else (we were bumped!). Aer Lingus tried to "normalize" this by explaining that they always "overbook" by 10%. How irresponsible! Instead of arriving in Paris at 4:30 PM (a direct flight) we had to take a flight to London and then to Paris and arrived at 11 PM exhausted (the bus service to Paris had closed down and we had to take a taxi). We will never fly Aer Lingus again. Aer Lingus created the long line to create this very situation!"
Pros: "entertainment was great on board food was good (for airline food) staff was friendly and helpful"
Pros: "check in process was easy"
Cons: "Our 2 carry-on bags were moved to checked in just before we got in. We were told that it was because it was a full flight. So what do I see in the overhead bins? 2 carry ons with "crew" tags. What bulls**t. This was a very good airline 20 years ago. Not anymore"
Pros: "The flight was so short that the food and entertainment part of this survey are. It applicable. They did serve food for purchase though and they had some good choices"
Pros: "Loved being on a flight for holiday, and knowing I wasn't being overcharged for needless frills."
Cons: "I don't remember if they served a drink, I know things were for sale. But that seems to be the European way."
Cons: "I remember Aer Lingus being a quality airline that treated passengers well. Now charging for tea and water, and exorbitant fees for bags? Felt like Ryanair. If I want to feel like bottom of the barrel I'll just take them next time!"
Cons: "No free snacks or drinks. I expected at least water and a small snack."
Cons: "The flight was cancelled"
Pros: "We left on time and landed a bit early. Only 1 1/2 hour flight, so no food, drink or service, but it got us there."
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "No entertainment and no snack I don't believe"
Pros: "We landed safely."
Cons: "Mobile check-in not an option. Seats not available until check-in without paying. Nothing is complimentary on a rather expensive flight."
Pros: "We were flying from Chicago to Paris and I choose a later connecting flight to make sure there were no issues. We arrived on time and asked to get on the earlier connection if there was room. Initially we were offered the change for a fee (those are the rules) but we were not willing to pay the extra expense and began to leave the counter. We were then offered the change at no charge. We were very thankful as this change/getting to Paris earlier allowed some sleep time to get over our jet lag faster. I flew Aer Lingus a few years before and was pleased so choose them again for this trip and they did not disappoint. I am a fan."
Cons: "I requested an aisle or window seat and was not able to get one."
Pros: "Crew was friendly. Boarding was efficient."
Cons: "Hard landing."
Pros: "Our return trip from Shannon to JFK was the best flying experience we have ever had. I requested an aisle seat for my 6'5" husband and we were given the emergency aisle. The flight crew was outstanding- Ashley and Hazel could not have been nicer to us. My TV set was broken in my seat but I did not care as I had a lot of reading to do. It was an outstanding return trip from a wonderful time in Ireland"
Cons: "Very uncomfortable!"
Pros: "We were late for our connecting flight because of a plane issue and no one from the Air Lingus did anything to help us get to our next flight out of London to Munich. We asked several times and they said follow the signs ."
Pros: "Friendly efficient service and complimentary late flight snacks with beverages a nice touch you don't get on other transatlantic flights"
Cons: "I could not get a seat assignment until the airport. I was sent an email to check in & was not allowed to. I called the airline & still could not get a seat assignment."
