Pros: "They were nice, rushed through beverages, but since it was a short flight that's understandable."
Cons: "The top cushion on the seats could be less bulky."
Pros: "The flight attendants worked hard to make the flight a good experience."
Pros: "Seating and leg room much better than Ryan Air!"
Cons: "Pre landing food was not edible , otherwise good"
Cons: "The flight took off late, arrived late and we missed our connection to Salt Lake City. We had to change terminals and they were on the opposite side of the airport. Had to spend the night and have not yet started with Aer Lingus to get some satisfaction."
Pros: "The only thing to like was for the transatlantic flight they have a pretty nice selection of moves and show to watch."
Cons: "Not enough space to write all the thing wrong here. I will never fly Aer Lingus again."
Pros: "Everything except the food"
Cons: "The food."
Pros: "I liked the fact that Aer Lingus screwed up so badly that I got to fly United back to Chicago instead of Aer Lingus."
Cons: "They could have gotten us to and from our destination on time. Ten hours late coming in and 24 hours late getting out. They could not have lost our luggage for 5 days. The logistics people haven't a clue. I feel sorry for the customer service people who have to work for this organization."
Pros: "the seats were comfortable, boarding systematic and the crew were polite and helpful"
Pros: "Seat was fine ! I was very thirsty and no free water.."
Cons: "Free drink/ water !!!"
Pros: "When my flight was cancelled due to weather they got me on to another flight right away and I didn’t miss my connection. However I waited in line for an hour and a half, maybe I was lucky because I was near the beginning of the line. There was only one person for awhile helping re route people."
Pros: "US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance in Dublin allowed me to avoid filling out a landing card and dealing with long immigration lines at JFK. Very good selection of films and TV shows via on board entertainment system. Food decent."
Cons: "Selection of amenities at Dublin Airport in the US pre-clearance area is poor."
Pros: "Crew outstanding"
Cons: "Boarding is outside."
Pros: "Aer Lingus flight was great - comfortable seats, good entertainment options with movies an music and good food!"
Pros: "Easy boarding"
Cons: "Arrive a day later no sleep to LOST MISSING bags for both myself and my daughter."
Pros: "I made it on the plane because they decided to delay the fight for the ones of us that almost missed our flight so to the flight from Dublin being late."
Cons: "The Food!"
Pros: "Very pleasant, competent, attentive, efficient crew."
Cons: "I did not like the delay in departing for Frankfurt-- missed the rental car and a meeting scheduled with a friend. Lufthansa for Frankfurt managed to depart on time. I know this may be out of your control."
Pros: "Staff is very friendly. With the right backing, this could have been one of the best short hop airlines."
Cons: "Boarding is a mess. Make people stand in their groups and enforce these animals to board in an efficient manner. Every other major airline does it. Staff is TOO friendly because these customers rush the gate no matter what and the staff is fine with it."
Cons: "You can not bring a hot drink on board, but they give you hot drinks on board it doesn't make sense.. The seats are very small on a 9 hrs flight, the arm rest should go up for some space when available..There should be at least a vegetarian option for people who don't eat meat.."
Pros: "Timeliness of flight and service on board."
Cons: "We upgraded 7 travelers for priority boarding. However as we got through check in, 2 of us were told we had to check our carry on. Mind you our carry on was the same size (exact same suitcase) as 2 others in our party who did not have to check in their bags? "Priority Boarding is now only €4.99. Be the first on board to store your cabin bag and relax in your seat before take-off." I believe I am entitled to a refund based on the info on above taken directly from the Aer Lingus website."
Cons: "Extremely uncomfortable. The seats were too close together and not enough room, but overall the airline is great. Will travel with them again, but will travel business class next time."
Pros: "Better food than on British Airways flight from San Francisco to London. More comfortable on Are Lingus than on British Airways flight from San Francisco to London."
Pros: "We arrived minutes earlier."
Cons: "The cabin lights after dinner were supposed to go off so people could sleep. The lights were going on and off uncontrollably the last few hours of the flight. Flight attendant said the plane had issues with the "control panel because it was an old plane". The worst part was when a female flight attendant wouldn't move her feet over a few inches while sitting in her chair, so that I (a pregnant woman) could use the closest bathroom to my seat in the back cabin. I had to ask her twice and both times she confirmed "She was on her break and would not move her feet" so that I could use the bathroom. Also note, the seatbelt sign was off but that wasn't even her excuse. The bathrooms were dirty and the toilet seats need to be replaced to be asked to sit on those is degrading!"
Pros: "Flight attendants were excellent."
Cons: "Food was so so. Entertainment selection was so so. Entertainment technology was substandard."
Pros: "Excellent service from counter in both Newark and Dublin. Cabin crew was very attentive and complimentary food and beverage was just great!"
Pros: "short and uneventful...friendly staff!"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable"
Cons: "3 hours in the machine and not even a soda or bag of peanuts for a flight during lunch time. This was not American Airlines, it was Aer Lingus. They want to sell drinks, snacks and duty free. Hey, we were already paying enough just to be in the jet!"
Pros: "The flight left almost on time which was good and landed a little over 20 minutes late which was ok."
Cons: "I had a window seat and felt very crammed. Also, we had to wait close to an hour for our luggage to come through. That was most annoying."
Cons: "Seats very uncomfortable with very little padding. I'm glad I went to seat guru.com prior to my flight so I could bring a seat cushion!"
Pros: "Your staff are very friendly. But you probably need more staff to help people with self check in as there were a few elderly people standing around not knowing how to use the self check in ."
Cons: "Was not happy about paying extra for my luggage . At the price I paid for my flight I would have expected a luggage allowance of one check in bag."
Pros: "comfortable flight."
Cons: "no vegetarian options for meal, unless arranged ahead of time...which was not an option."
Cons: "Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2017 09:26:17 -0500 Subject: Re: How was your Aer Lingus flight to Chicago? The Aer Lingus flight was fine, but Vanama, the middle agency that youhave processed my tickets through- caused me a lot of stress. The daybefore my flight, I was trying to check in, and I received a message thatmy reservation was cancelled. I called Vanama, who rudely put me on morethan 30- minute hold on the phone, told me that Aer Lingus would not dealwith them, but the customer directly. I told him(Daniel of Vanama) that Ihave paid for my fare, that it was their responsibility, not mine to dealwith the airline. Never-the-less I tried calling the Airline, severaltimes, and listened to their own voice messages up to 2 in the morning ofthe day of my flight. Lacking sleep, and still not packed, I went to bed, went very early to the Madrid airport. I knew by the look on the AerLingus(Cristina) staff that there was a problem---she went ahead issued mea boarding pass, told me to go to the ticket counter in Dublin, and ask forhelp. After going from one floor to another, and another, to twodifferent staff-the problem sorter at Aer Lingus told me, Vanama never issued the ticket. That they should not have let me board the plane in Madrid, but he said he took care of the mess. Now you want to know how my flight went."
Cons: "The map feature wasn't working on the flight and the sound quality for media was very poor and sporadic"
Pros: "SItting on the aisle near the toilets"
Cons: "Seat curved up on the sides which strained my back & thigh muscles."
Pros: "Having meals covered by the airport hotel, and quick access by car to downtown Dublin."
Cons: "Wasn't able to get to IAD when I wanted to (on same day)."
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "The plane was dirty and old, the food horrible, cramped seats, dirty and non functioning bathrooms, stressed out and inattentive staff, poor coordination of seating families together (I was told my seat was given to a woman so she could sit with her adult daughter...I wasn't asked, just told), the flight was 1.5 hour delayed, my bag was lost because the incompetent staff member in Italy didn't give me a bording pass for the Dublin to LA flight (I'm still waiting over 24 hours later to find out what's happened to my luggage). Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants!"
Cons: "Inflight entertainment needs upgrades: better options and better performing screens."
Pros: "Good in flight entertainment system. Lots of options."
Cons: "Be very aware of your seats proximity to the restrooms. I paid for the extra legroom seat that turned out to be where everyone waiting for the restroom stood. I felt very bad for the passenger who was seated directly across the aisle from the restroom door."
Pros: "Flights were smooth and on time. Boarding was fine. I could walk around. Restrooms were clean. The egg breakfast dish on flight from LAX to Dublin was yummy."
Cons: "The seats are too small. I'm 5'11 and had to have my legs in the aisle even though there was nothing under the seat in front of me. The sound system for movies and pilots was hard to understand - not clear. Aisles too narrow."
Pros: "Very helpful and exceptional in flight staff. Ground crew helped us through customs very quickly and made flight transfer very easy."
Pros: "Same as previous flight."
Cons: "Same."
Pros: "The food was elevated and we were fed twice on our 9 hour flight! The beverage service was also provided often with a good assortment. I loved that there were new release movies available for free. The staff was friendly and available. If I were to do another long flight like that, I would seek out British Airways."
Cons: "It was all great."
Pros: "I liked that they eventually let my wife and I sit together."
Cons: "The tickets we were assigned were separate. I have no idea why you would assign a couple separate seats, but thankfully they were both window seats and excellent bargaining chips. They partnered with United to get us home and only booked out luggage to O'Hare, which was not our final destination. They lost two identical bags along the way from Barcelona to O'Hare. My bet is they're being rifled through in Dublin right now."
Cons: "We were not seated together. Unable to choose seats in advance or contact them in advance by phone as closed for holiday."
Pros: "Not allowed to carry on 1 bag, and bag with valuable and expensive souvenirs. I thought 1 catry on was allowed."
Pros: "I've traveled Aer Lingua several times and been pleased enough to keep choosing AL for my transatlantic trips, however this, the on February 4th 2017 was my last favorite because this time i felt the low-budgetness of travel. there was less leg room, the food was edible, the in-flight A/V was not worth the effort of trying to watch our listen and the crew in my section not very attentive. Having said that, this was a one time mediocre experience that I'm reviewing and hasn't put me off AL at all - it's a good airline and I will continue flying with them."
Cons: "I'm soooo upset about the service after my flight canceled. 1.the staff ignored me when I asked if I could have a VIP to rebook my tickets earlier because my mom got cancel and was going to do the surge . But he went away and never came back, no any response of YES or NO. 2.I don't know why the airline company still need 11 hours to rebook the tickets with all our flight information and our passport liscen numbers already , making us waiting till 3 am at the airport. 3. I asked my boyfriend to talk to the staff on phone, and the staff told my BF that he didn't know my English was not good. I said to him loudly that I had told him , but the manager besides said "don't shout at my staff"to me, even without asking me what happened . I don't think that was a good attitude for the service department, especially to a foreigner. My email address is Chentongtong@wku.edu.cn"
Cons: "Couldn't check in for the second leg of the flight to the US, neither on-line nor at the departing airport, had to go to connections in Dublin. I flew to the US many times and this is the first time an airline IT system does not allow to check in for the US destination. The food was very mediocre. Inflight entertainment didn't work properly."
Pros: "Crew was good. They were a bit slow with the drinks and food though."
Cons: "The seat in front of me was broken so every time the passenger in front of me reclined, she was basically in my lap."
Pros: "We were flying from Chicago to Paris and I choose a later connecting flight to make sure there were no issues. We arrived on time and asked to get on the earlier connection if there was room. Initially we were offered the change for a fee (those are the rules) but we were not willing to pay the extra expense and began to leave the counter. We were then offered the change at no charge. We were very thankful as this change/getting to Paris earlier allowed some sleep time to get over our jet lag faster. I flew Aer Lingus a few years before and was pleased so choose them again for this trip and they did not disappoint. I am a fan."
Cons: "Less time at the AirPort after landing"
Pros: "Not super comfortable"
Cons: "Snacks/Drinks for free"
Cons: "Check in process is stupid and staff was very unhelpful."
Pros: "The "sales" gets a little old. Duty free, lotto tickets, food, drink...…."
Cons: "I had to pay for the luggage which I already paid when I booked the flight through Kyak. Seats very small. One way ticket for $400 from Palermo to Milan!"
Pros: "Delayed and had to have replacement plane"
Cons: "Delayed and had to have replacement plane"
Cons: "Rude gate agent and they played the blame game as to why they were late!"
Pros: "You got what you paid for"
Cons: "N/A"
Cons: "Delayed , everything is nickel and dime"
Cons: "We spent a lot of time standing in lines."
Pros: "We had a very short flight from Dublin to Edinburgh and everything was good"
Pros: "Flight was ahead of schedule! Cheap and efficient!"
Pros: "on time quick boarding from both ends of the plane friendly staff"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "All"
Cons: "No tv or entertainment"
Cons: "Slow, uncomfortable system of mass boarding."
Cons: "Arrival is horrific"
Pros: "The price makes it very inviting to fly Ryanair. I misunderstood the need to electronically check in before I arrived at the airport but was helped, very courteously, by the ticket agent."
Cons: "Any food or beverage was for a fee. It was a short flight and midday so it wasn't a problem for me but under different circumstances it could be."
Pros: "Grew was nice, professional"
Cons: "Flight was delayed. I missed my business meeting"
Pros: "Quick flight"
Cons: "Nothing free, not even a cup of water"
Pros: "The food options were pretty good."
Cons: "The seats didn't move back at all!!!"
Cons: "Extra baggage cost"
Pros: "I was very disappointed with checking in because I wasn't informed about checking in online. I had to pay an additional €150 and it's sad that you have to find ways to make extra money on us passenger's. Your rates are low but the extra fees cost more than the airfare. then when were ready to board they said my carry on was too big, which it was not and the stewardess wanted to charge us extra fee but when she realizes that it wasn't too big she still wanted to take our luggage because there was no room on the plane. In fact we got on the plane and there was plenty of room for our carry on I am hoping that Ryanair will do the right thing and reimburse us the extra 150 we were charged for not doing the online check-in that once again I was not aware of because I never received an email or a text as she stated I should have received. This is NOT right how you have low rates then we are forced to pay all the extras."
Cons: "I don't like how Ryanair charges a low fee but then adds all these extra fees because you didn't check-in on LINE etc. Snack or beverage was never offered and your hostess were NOT at all friendly."
Pros: "Price"
Cons: "They didn't have record that I had paid for extra luggage for my party of 7. Luckily, I had my paperwork so I was able to finally get my luggage on without paying again. The flight bordered 40 minutes late and then sat on the runway for an hour. They was never an announcement as to why. My mother is in a wheelchair. They didn't let her pre-board, and then put her wheelchair through with the luggage. She had to get to the luggage carousel without it. They told her to just walk. Luckily, she can walk a little with help. Yikes, if she was totally disabled."
Pros: "Price"
Cons: "Boarding was haphazard and painful."
Pros: "The flight was A-okay, but the experience leading up to it was not."
Cons: "First of all, the website is laid out in such a way that it's easy to make unnessasarry additional purchases. We ended up purchasing seats at the very back of the plane. We were unable to print our boarding tickets prior to checking in at the airport and after waiting in line for help, were directed to self help computers that we had to pay-to-use. These were not working and after lining up for help several more times (to get change to pump into the computers etc...) and sending off a 'chat help request we finally left and got a different clerk. While this second clerk was telling us we'd have to pay for her help, someone else overheard our challenges and took over from the clerk, printed our boarding tickets at no further charge and got us on our way. While we certainly appreciate the service at the end, it should never have come to that."
Cons: "Late departure"
Cons: "U have to print boarding pass 2 hours before I did t See this written anywhere . Also they close the gate 30 minutes before and it takes 30 minotes to get to the gate Very difficult process so fate was closed and I had to pay 60 eu for luggage which was never clear anywhere and I had to check-in 3 hours before you have to check in before u can print the boarding pass so I was looking for a boarding pass but could t get it since I didn't know I had to check In???????? Mo5hi g explained anywhere!"
Cons: "Terrible customer service. Rude people working."
Pros: "Neat plane and friendly hostesses"
Cons: "Lousy timing flight was delayed over an hour"
Pros: "It was cheap, quick and easy"
Cons: "The rules around baggage, priority boarding and purchasing seats is not very clear"
Pros: "The airport was great"
Cons: "Flight was late leaving, the airport kept changing gates so people were running back and forth, a lot of turbulence in flight."
Cons: "First, I tried to check-in online but their system was down. I outsmarted them because I took several screen shots of different timelines. When I checked-in at their counter, they wanted to charged me €40. The lady wouldnt believe me when I told her that I tried to checkin online for 2 hours but their system was down. That's when I showed her the photo of the screen shot, she called someone on the phone telling him or her of the situation and that I have proof of screenshots. They finally allowed me to check-in with no fee. Second, When I dropped my 3 luggages, they wanted to charge me for my 2 check luggage allowances. I told the lady that I bought online for 3 luggages allowances, but their system only showed that I only bought one. It took several minutes for them to realized that I was right. Third, maybe because of my lack of sleep and tired of travelling for over a month, i left my shoulder bag under the seat of the plane. My fiancee's and my passports as welk.as £500, smart tablet, camera, credit cards, jewelries and other personal belongings were inside my bag. That day was the last day of our 40days vacation. When I got outside of the terminal, that's when I realized that I left my bag on the plane. I went quickly to Ryan air desk but the lady told me that we have to go to the lost item counter and wait for my bag to show up. I waited the whole afternoon at the lost item counter and the lady there told me to just call them and ask if my bag has showed up. When I got to the hotel, I called the airline for rebooking on my flight back to my country. I went back the next day to the airport, but my bag has not showed up at the lost item counter. I was able to get the contact numbers of Ryan air in-charge of this matter. I requested someone to call the person in cbarge, telling him that my bag couldnt be lost because of strict security inside the airport, after a long wait, they finally said they found my bag. I waited 1 hour for Ryan air staff to turn over my bag to the lost item coiunter. When I finally got my bag, there were only £40 left in my bag and a piece of jewelly was missing. I will fly back to my country today and I will file a formal complain with Ryan air as well as write the CEO or President of Ryan air of the way he runs the business. I'm glad I got back our passports but the whole world should know about how Ryan air run their business. PLEASE,.STAY AWAY FROM RYAN AIR."
Pros: "The flight attendants wont stop talking the whole flight, the temperature is so cold and the lights are never turned off, which makes it impossible for you to sleep on the plane."
Pros: "Gave 1 star for food & entertainment as didn't buy food and of course too short for entertainment Would fly again with Ryan Air if they didn't insist on a printer boarding pass, too difficult."
Cons: "Having to print out a boarding pass is almost impossible when travelling as no access to a printer. The check-in area at Dublin as poor signage as I needed to get my booking pass stamped & passports checked The seats didn't recline & because I am not tall the head rest curve pushes my head forward (on most planes) have gap behind neck so very uncomfortable only helped by reclining seat. Boarding messy as no seat order called hence isles blocked, most planes load back seats first keeping isles free, this plane had back & front stair gangways but weren't told."
Cons: "Over crowded. Uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "A quick flight."
Cons: "The additional charges for checked bags. LOTS of additional charges!"
Cons: "I have NEVER encountered such rude people working anywhere. The staff was impolite and abrasive. I had a question on my bag and they would not discuss with me. I will NEVER fly this airline again. On my vacation in Europe this trip, I flew five different airlines. All other airlines were wonderful - this one, absolutely NO Customer Service from check in to the flight. Staff were irritable. Unfriendly. I was told this is their reputation - horrible customer service and staff as they are a "cheap" airline. I've flown budget flights before - I've never dealt with any customer service like this!"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Everything"
Cons: "Seats don't recline. No leg room. Cattle car feel!"
Pros: "Great price and convenient . On time"
Cons: "Tight quarters"
Pros: "boarding was on time and no delays on the tarmac"
Cons: "Extra fees for luggage. Tiny seats w/out reclining"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Everything, especially the employees"
Pros: "It was cheap"
Cons: "No food. And the seats were uncomfortable."
Pros: "I liked the price."
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that the employees at the check-in counter had less information about the flight than I did (I informed them that it was running late). Then when the flight was two and a half hours late, there were no employees with whom to talk about how to help me make alternative arrangements when I got to my destination (the lateness of the flight significantly disrupted my travel)."
Cons: "We did not know when we bought the tickets that there is a $45 dollar fee for checking in at the airport. We received a reminder email in our inbox a few hours prior to our flight, but we were already traveling and our WIFI access was limited, so we did not see it. It cost an extra $90 dollars to check in and a bit of stress as we were attempting to check in before the two hour mark using the airport internet that was spotty. We ended up missing our checkin by minutes, and had to pay. It was like being on one of those timed amazing race shows. $90 dollars!!! Won't do that again."
Cons: "Over 1 hour delay! Really terrible"
Pros: "Price from Dublin to Glasgow was unbeatable. They try to get you in the plane quick."
Cons: "They close the door 40 minutes prior, so make sure you get there with plenty of time to line up."
Cons: "Our backpacks cost as much as our tickets. I probably will use them again, though."
