Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "See review for previous leg of flight."
Cons: "See review for previous leg of flight."
Cons: "Kayak is a horrible company and not easy to work with. They have screwed me royally and I will say nothing but bad things about them. They should not even be in business the way they have handled my situation including hanging up on me multiple times and changing the rules for flight changes, etc. Saying I am unhappy is an understatement."
Cons: "Flight was delayed once we had boarded, so we had to sit at the gate for about 2 hours, which was not the crew's fault of course, however, they could have offered drinks. Once we finally got in the air, they only offered purchasable snacks in a way that was confusing--and did not even come through the cabin with complimentary drinks. Given the circumstances, and the fact the time in our seats was extended by over two hours, there could have been some better service from the actual flight attendants. It should have been clearly stated at the beginning of the flight, and once more when we were in the air, that no complimentary drinks were going to be handed out, and if we wanted anything, we would need to purchase it. I wouldn't have minded purchasing if I had known that was my only option."
Cons: "Flight delayed due to late arrival of aeroplane."
Pros: "Out of my four flights with Aer LIngus, this leg of my trip that both left and arrived on time. It is sad, that when landing they had to say thank you for flying another on time Aer LIngus flight. Makes me wonder how often are you not on time? My experience says 75% of the time your late."
Cons: "First off, don't try charging me 150 euros to check my bags when I already paid for it at booking. Then who charges for 2,50 for a can soda on an air plane? Lastly, I'm 6'4" and the seats were so close there was no way to sit without my knees pressed into the seat in front of me."
Cons: "Transferring to another airline that was “serviced by”. British Airways ended up being 2 hours of stress, confusion and running to our gate. This should be made apparent while booking. Had to go through security 3 times in Toronto."
Cons: "The airline charged for luggage at airport check in."
Pros: "Same comments"
Cons: "Same comments"
Cons: "Dublin airport No suitcase when we arrived No food. No inflight entertainment"
Cons: "No TV on board and you had to pay for a glass of water"
Pros: "I liked the variety of movies/television series shows that were available and having USB charger at every seat. Also liked that they gave headphones free of charge as well as pillows and blankets."
Cons: "The seats were fairly narrow and I had the unfortunate luck of having a mechanical box at foot space taking away half of it. (on the previous flight there was no box and foot space was fine). On this journey I was sitting on the aisle being constantly bumped by the crew moving up and down the aisles. I’m not a big person and wasn’t in the aisle however, on the aisle opposite me was a bigger person. The crew were constantly moving to avoid that person and hitting me. Expect tight seating and narrow aisles."
Cons: "Even though all correspondence told me I could check in 24 hours ahead and choose a seat, after repeatedly trying, I gave up. I even called and was told I could do it, but I couldn’t. Because of that, I got a crappy seat. Another man and I stood outside of a bathroom for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come out, and we finally discovered that a flight attendant had locked it from the outside because of turbulence and forgot to open it. My checked bag was tagged with the priority sticker. I had a tight connection to catch a bus once I got to Boston. My bag came out of the carousel exactly 15 minutes after the first bag came out. That’s priority???"
Cons: "Before we boarded this plane we arrived at Aer Lingus for a 2 hour layover. The airport only had a snack bar open and an express bar with only drinks. There was cafes upstairs but that was closed off to hundreds of people with a layover between flights. When asked they said it was closed off by escalater and elevator to all of us. They blocked the escalator with a giant gate sign. People waited in line at a snack for over 20 mins for a bite to eat that was express food or a choice of 5 sandwiches that came hot that actually sucked not worth the money at all. People were pissed! I was looking forward to a nice meal for my layover but that definitely did not happen! They only came around once with drinks on a 6 hour flight, then twice for coffe and tea. When I asked for a sprite they said they ran out of things completely"
Pros: "NO SECURITY CHECK FOR INBOUND FLIGHTS. What a relief!"
Cons: "Cramped rickety stairs, up & down to Passport control. In flight service non-existent. Tepid coffee at absurd $4.50!"
Pros: "very friendly staff"
Pros: "The plane was clean and comfortable, the crew was friendly"
Cons: "Having to pay for coffee and soda is something I would expect from a budget airline and not a major carrier"
Pros: "great on board staff great on ground staff in Dublin"
Cons: "4 month ago where promised a bassinet for lap infant on transcontinental flight which was every time confirmed when calling in prior checking in. Once on the plane were told no bassinets available anymore due to many baby's on board. That was a deception! And a lie! All seats with capabilty for a bassinet were occupied by able healthy adults! There WAS not 1 bassinet on the plane!! Terrible check in staff in Miami...can barely communicate in English (for AER LINGUS!!)...they did not know their own luggage allowance policy...had difficulties to check in a lap infant."
Pros: "I made it on the plane because they decided to delay the fight for the ones of us that almost missed our flight so to the flight from Dublin being late."
Cons: "The Food!"
Pros: "The fly from London to new work was very good Very comfortable , there were many empty seats since the Hamburg airport on Sunday had a mayor outage And we were forced to change our fly and stay one more day , the representative on the phone were very helpful! When we contact them to check out fly"
Cons: "We lost a day since we supposed to return on Monday but because the outage we were forced to stay one more day in our hotel at our own expense We had pay for insurance but not sure if was cover at that moment we were tired and frustrated since they block the entry to the airport and we were force to turn around and go back to our hotel witch was hrs away , couldn’t Get nothing near by everything was bucked and all airports around as well The return was very stressful but we enjoy our stay in Germany"
Cons: "Airplane was late 90 mins"
Pros: "Friendly and practical no complaints"
Pros: "Cabin crew"
Cons: "Pilot failed to inform us why we were sitting on the tarmac for 40 mins before taking off."
Cons: "Let's see... Refused to check my bag because the flight was "over booked". The plane blew an engine on takeoff and then landed in Shannon, IR (150 miles west of Dublin). Once there, the airline had no idea what to do with us passengers (for 4 hours), eventually deciding to put us on buses back to Dublin. Once back there we were offered stand by flights to London, where we could try to find flights back to the U.S. (again, on stand by). When we finally got on another Aer Lingus flight (3 days later), my wife and I were asked for $80 to check a second bag. When we asked the desk agent to wave the fee because of our 1st flight mishap, we were told "Hey, you lived through it, didn't you?". Avoid this airline"
Pros: "The flight attendants were very cheerful."
Cons: "We were delayed on the tarmac for almost an hour due to a storm at AMS. Then delayed further in AMS waiting for a gate. Not the airlines fault though. They are one of the few major European airlines that don't serve free food."
Pros: "I had much admiration for the 2 sets of parents of 2 screeching babies who were basking in total oblivion as to the aggravation their little bundles of joy were creating among the 100 other passengers. To be that insensitive to others is quite a feat. What could they have done, you ask? When my children got unruly on flights (very rarely) my wife whisked them off to the bathroom until they were calm. It's what responsible parents do. Not sit and smile at you. And when we reached Munich, we waited more than a half hour for luggage that came in spits and spurts... It was the perfect final flourish to a miserable 12 plus hours on your airline. I'm thrilled at the prospect of my return to LA next week and what surprises may be in store for me!"
Cons: "It was mercifully short..."
Pros: "Flight delayed 2 hrs - missed connection, small seats/aisles."
Cons: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "this flight was unnecessarily delayed. it was possible to have an earlier connection"
Pros: "Food was definitely improved!"
Pros: "I loved the timeliness of the food service, and the options available for beverage service. The selection of movies and music available on the TV screen in the seat back was great, and allowed the time on the long plane ride to pass a little faster. The captain was extremely informative, about our flight path, the wind conditions, weather at our destination, etc. I particularly enjoyed the information he provided, because on some flights, you rarely hear from the person flying the plane."
Cons: "The boarding process was interesting: those that needed assistance and business class 1st (understood), but then front of the plane, back of the plane, and finally the middle. I don't feel this made things go any faster - we still waited in line for quite some time in the jetway. I don't understand having front, back, and middle. Just let all economy get in line, or do something efficient like load the window seats first, the aisle, and for the seats in the middle of the plane, have the middle seats load 1st, and then the aisle seats. Seats got uncomfortable during the flight. Also, the person in front of me reclined ALL the way, so the top of her seat was only a few inches in my face. Most flights I have been on don't allow the seats to recline that far. I could barely get out of my seat to get up and go to the bathroom."
Cons: "At Frankfurt Main airport the check in counter had initially only one person and the lines were very long. After about 30 minutes they opened 2 more counters. We were waiting at the gate for the bus and the flight time had passed , but no announcement that the flight is delayed. finally we get on the plane and then we get an announcement that we the plane does not have clearance for another hour and half. The entertainment on board is very very old stuff, and shockingly the food is also bad and no vegetarian food."
Pros: "Seats comfortable, crew pleasant"
Cons: "My plane was broken, they had no idea when and if we were going fly away. Once the plane was brought to the gate, mechanics had the engine apart inspecting it. Then they caused a fuel spill during fill up which caused the fire trucks to come. This was very discomforting for 300 people waiting for 4+ hours to get on their plane. Once on the plane internet did not work, and my in seat entertainment was rebooting often. I spent 7+ hours at Dublin Airport, sick with a sinus congestion... Plus all the restaurants and shops were closed due to it being after hours of their operation. Last time flying this airline."
Cons: "After booking 2 months in advance to be placed at the LAST ROW next to the toilets? I will think long and hard before booking Aer Lingus."
Pros: "We did arrive early, and safely to our destination. Pilot was informative and efficient. Staff are hit or miss on friendliness and efficiency."
Cons: "Second flight with aer Lingus, second time my baggage has been lost. Phone operators are shockingly rude and unhelpful, and retrieving my luggage is an unnecessary pain. Hopefully this time will be less frustrating than the last one. I'll simply never understand what is so difficult about putting baggage on the flight it is meant to be on; there were at least twenty other people both times that had missing luggage. Food this time was pretty gross, but have never had an issue with it personally before."
Pros: "I had an aisle seat."
Cons: "There was very little leg room, and no comfort for a tired traveler. This was the last leg coming in from Boston and having a 2 hour layover before continuing. The 2 hour trip seemed longer than the 6 hours it took to get to Dublin. The food service never even asked my row if they wanted to buy drinks/ food, even though my seat neighbor clearly put their tables down in anticipation of getting something to eat/ drink. A set of travelers had difficulty comprehending the rules about sitting in the exit row, and the stewardess was not very helpful, but looked angry and exasperated."
Pros: "I thought the staff worked very hard and were very friendly."
Cons: "Leg room was minimal. I don't think you should allow seats to go back since I inevitably sit behind someone who puts his all the way back and I feel like a pretzel. It seemed like a very expensive ticked to feel like that."
Cons: "Guy at check in was rude and insulting and my bag didn't arrive."
Pros: "The comfort of the plane was great compared to Ryan air"
Cons: "I don't like that I must travel to Dublin from cork to fly to Amsterdam for a cheaper flight"
Cons: "Are Lingus is non responsive to their customers. When I called them about their change in my schedule, I was on hold for 45 minutes before someone answered the call. I explained my situation that because they changed my flight that I would now have to get a hotel, stay overnight and fly out the next day. They said there was nothing they could do and refused to pay for the hotel or meals that would be incurred as a result of their changing my flight. This was after I explained that I had originally paid more for the tickets on their airline so I would NOT have a long layover. Worst customer service I have ever encountered."
Pros: "Nice, new clean aircraft, excellent meal service, very very friendly crew, top notch the minute we got on plane"
Cons: "Two major problems, when we went to check in, we stood in line and were very rudely told by some German British Airways attendent that we couldn't check in with them and that we needed to go to Aer Lingus, this even though our reservations were through British Airways. Second, despite my efforts over a few months to make seat reservations, my daughter and i were separated. Aer Lingus reps in rome fixed that and I was very, very grateful for that, but when we got to the Dublin/Boston leg of our flight, they couldn't or wouldn 't fix the seating issue. On board the plane though, the flight attendents arranged for my daughter and I to sit together. Really upset me that I didn't know until the very last minute, on the plane, whether I was going to be able to sit next to my child."
Cons: ""Breakfast" sandwich of egg. Also boarding was not by rows from the rear so everyone was blocking everyone else."
Cons: "The air conditioning was too cold. I had to put on lots of layers of clothes and I was still cold."
Cons: "My luggage didn't arrive to Amsterdam. I wasn't offered any assistance and I had to wait a day to receive my luggage! My flight was an early flight so it,ales not sense why it wasn't brought to the same day"
Cons: "Our son's luggage did not make it to Barcelona with us. We arrived on Sunday. He was called Monday that a delivery service would bring to him that evening, but they did not show up. They were to come Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning and never showed up. He finally had to take a $35.00 cab to airport to get the luggage. NOT a good experience. The Aer Lingus support number just rang and rang, no one picked up for days! My daughter tried the main Aer Lingus connection but they referred us back to the same phone number. NOT good customer service."
Cons: "The problem I had is that this was not a British Airways flight, nor were my flights to Dublin. I was not aware of this. When I checked in online I was allowed to check in with British Airways, so I had no idea that this was an Aer Lingus flight, which is in a different terminal with a different flight number. My phone didn't work in Ireland so it was extremely difficult figuring out where I should have been. If I was on a different airline that is affiliated with British Airways, and I booked through British Airways, there should be some way of looking up where I should be going. Also, any emails about my trip should have told me which airline I was on. I fly often, and often to other countries. This was the most confusing and difficult flying experience (the entire trip -- getting to and from Dublin) I have ever had."
Cons: "We arrived in Toronto from Dublin to get our connecting flight with two very tired children and were told by Air Canada that our connecting flight was never booked by Aer Lingus. We were told that the flight we were supposed to be on was full and there was no flights until the next morning. To top it off Air Canada could not locate our baggage and we were told to wait around and check back every half hour. If was past two in the morning Dublin time and our kids were exhausted and fell esleep in the airport. We could not wait around any longer with exhausted children so we booked a hotel and took our kids there without our luggage. Our kids were crying because our baggage was lost and thus was a shitty way to end our vacation and my birthday! Would not recommend flying with Aer Lingus or Air Canada. Horrible service."
Cons: "Flight delayed and gate 9 in terminal 1 at JFK is a nightmare. It’s in the corner and you can’t hear any announcements at all. Horrible place."
Pros: "Great crew. My first time in Premium Economy & it was fantastic. I was actually able to sleep on an overnight flight."
Cons: "Food was eh but what do you expect? Airline food is airline food. Otherwise - a great trip."
Cons: "Horrible and unprofessional check in process, by time of boarding more than half of passengers had not gone through security yet due to their delays. The machine and website weren’t working so everyone had to check in via the desks."
Cons: "No food or water was offered. Had to stop for water . Barely any selection of movies"
Pros: "Smooth flight, new plane and arrived on time."
Cons: "The baggage allowances are very strict and creates an antagonistic experience at check in."
Pros: "Seat was okay. Enough overhead space for everyone"
Cons: "Seriously no food? Or even peanuts? Or a water? Shouldn’t have to pay $3 for water on a 8 hour flight..."
Pros: "Good legroom"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by over an hour"
Cons: "If they at least offered complimentary drinks and snacks."
Pros: "I got charged 100 for each leg of the trip for luggage and your app would not let me check them in online"
Cons: "Baggage cost was outrageous"
Pros: "Free wifi was great!"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable."
Cons: "Long check in time with long lines. No internet check-in Budget carrier, ticket is cheap, so they try to get money from you whenever they can. All hand items are weighed. Max bag weight 20kg instead of 23 Food needs to be paid except water"
Pros: "Crew was friendly but a little impatient at times but helpful. The head rest on the seat was good."
Cons: "The coach seats were narrow and not super comfortable, no room to store under seat. The food options were limited, not even water offered for free. The de boarding process and getting baggage was a mess, I didn’t get out of airport for two hours and very little updates from the airline"
Pros: "The price."
Cons: "Everything. The service overall is terrible. Experience was nothing to write home about. The attitude of the cabin crew / flight attendants have to be one of the worst in the industry. You get what you pay for."
Pros: "No bothering during the flight"
Cons: "A bit of free snacks and drinks"
Cons: "We waited 4 hours on the plane, before the 7 hour flight. They couldn’t de- ice us. This was after the first flight was cancelled."
Cons: "To be honest, at least a glass of water could be offered"
Pros: "Aside from the fact that I got there safe - nothing else!"
Cons: "Since when is food/snacks complimentary for International flights? I had to pay for a cup of tea!"
Pros: "Comfortable cabin and seats, plenty of restrooms."
Cons: "As economy passengers, we paid for a reserved seat, baggage, and leg room. There were no extras offered, not even water, so bring your own. The cabin was noisy with frequent servivice for upgraded passengers so it was difficult to sleep on this overnight flight that left NYC at midnight."
Pros: "Plane, fight time, boarding speed, efficiency all excellent"
Cons: "Departure was suddenly changed from 4 to 7 without clear announcement. On the Norwegian terminal nor on the departure boards nothing was indicated nor had anybody bothered to leave a note or sign on the Norwegian Terminal 4. I discovered at the last minute as I hearD a “last boarding call” announcement in the Knick of time"
Cons: "Too many delays, airplane was cold"
Cons: "The Norwegian staff were completely incompetent. It took me 1.5 hours just to check in. Almost missed the flight."
Cons: "SERVICE. ORGANIZATION WAS AWFUL. TWO HOURS TO CHECK IN."
Cons: "Thank you!"
Cons: "I didn’t know I had to pre-order my meals. Also, the entertainment selection was very limited."
Pros: "I liked the aircraft and the crew"
Cons: "the lack of food"
Pros: "Flight was on time, staff and flight crew were lovely and seats were pretty comfortable (we flew premium). The planes are new and clean, and everything worked as it was supposed to ."
Cons: "The shlep from terminal two where you check in to terminal one where the flight takes off was horrible. It’s about a twenty minute walk, and no bus or shuttle to take you there. Otherwise, Norwegian was a very pleasant surprise. Food was horrible , especially after a week of delicious Spanish cuisine..."
Pros: "The plane was comfortable, clean and modern. The seats were not cramped. It was possible to sleep on the overnight flight without interruptions from the crew. The pilot was funny and helpful and landed the plane so smoothly that I didn't even know we had landed!"
Pros: "Everything went well ... very nice people work for Norwegian Air"
Cons: "If the crew could have made sure at boarding that passengers uses the right doors to enter the aircraft , that could have avoided passengers walking over each other"
Pros: "Friendly crew Comfortable clean planes"
Cons: "Departure delay JfK Luggage at Amsterdam took way too long"
Pros: "The movies helped distract me from how cold, parched and starving I was."
Cons: "LAX to Barcelona with no complimentary water or snacks?? So bad for your health. This level of horrible bare bones service goes beyond inconvenient and is simply bad for your health."
Cons: "Most uncomfortable chairs ever!"
Pros: "Good seats, nice lighting, great air"
Cons: "FREEZING cold and very hard to sleep as a result, even with a purchased blanket"
Pros: "There was one particularly pretty crew member with a great laugh and she was very friendly"
Cons: "I flew out with the same luggage that I flew in with. They charged me $56 for it. It seemed as if they made a new rule out of the blue and included my personal bag my carry on. It wasn't that they had to be concerned about the FAA weight requirements because the flight was only about 80% full. The in-flight entertainment was limited and there was no audio... so in other words, you could not simply turn on music to go to sleep by. This is a very bare-bones airline. Also, one flight attendant was perhaps the rudest person I've ever come across. "Go talk to someone else - I'm busy." All I asked for was a fork. She was simply opening a bin at the moment."
Pros: "Boarding was good. Flight was ontime. Lots of movies for entertainment."
Cons: "Over 11 hours flight should at least give us a free drink. Tickets are discounted but still not that cheap! Everything has to be purchased! Flight attendends on board are not very friendly, offer to help, or with a smile!"
Pros: "Love the planes (boeing 787)."
Cons: "A few of the crew members (one woman in particular) were very rude to people that were just asking about immigration forms etc. Her attitude sucked. The announcement volume was low as well so the crew could've been a bit nicer about the questions. Not thrilled with not even being offered water once during an 8 hour flight. I've been flying first, business and economy plus on American alot for the past few years and was u aware that this was a discount airline when I booked. Like I said, I love the new planes but I'm going to spend the money and have a nicer crew with water and a meal for international flights (I flew Stockholm to NYC)."
Cons: "No meal served on an 9 hour flight .... no blanket or pillow WOW didn’t realize that was possible"
Cons: "Broken seat, no movies "they didn't download", we were promised a drink as a lame compensation for a 7 hour flight with no entertainment. Drink offer was rescinded to no alcohol. You have to buy everything you need and there are extra checkpoints at every possible juncture to weigh bags, check status and docs. Not worth the small savings."
Pros: "It was a nice plane. Very clean. Good entertainment. USB port to charge your phone."
Cons: "If you get a LowFare ticket you don't get any food or drinks. You have to buy everything and it's very expensive. Even on an 11 hour flight they don't even offer you water unless you seek them out specofically."
Cons: "I was running late for my flight home to Dublin I had 40 minutes until the flight was due to take off. The guy on check in was extremely rude and sent me off in an awful panic to my gate. It was an emotional parting with my partner as I won't see him again for a few months and this very rude employee didn't help at all This was my second flight with Norwegian in the space of a few weeks and I could very well be a regular flyer as my partner is in Sweden for the foreseeable future. This guy gave an awful representation of your airline. People get delayed these things happen he wasnt one bit nice about it and I was very unhappy how I was treated"
Pros: "Flight time was shorter than the reported time on the ticket."
Cons: "The wifi connection was poor & no individual TV screens to watch movies. Also, no music during flight."
Pros: "Fantastic value. Clean plane with good cabin crew. We took off on time, had a pleasant flight and landed safely and on time. What more do you want?"
Cons: "I'm glad i paid the E11 for a seat with leg room. It might have been tight otherwise for a flight over 2 hours. Worst coffee I've paid for anywhere recently. This was a big black mark for me."
Pros: "Did not keep us informed of the delay and I was not offered anything to drink."
Pros: "Every thing was on time. The crew very courtous and kind with the passengers."
Pros: "The movie selection was really good."
Cons: "$65 for ONE regular checked bag?! Pay for WATER? And tea, coffee and EVERYTHING else? Flight was over 2 hrs delayed and they made NO announcements, nor did they say anything when I checked in."
Cons: "Checking in had a long line"
Pros: "new plane, decent leg room"
Cons: "Terrible customer service and check-in process, can't check bags through to other flights, unusually low 20kilo bag weight limit, 10Euros/kilo bag charges, customer has to do all check-in and bag tag work, had to walk outside through 24F degree weather to board, lousy food, etc."
Cons: "Wait to board and after time passes for departure, notice for delay only after expected departure time. No explanation. 1hr delay then they call to gate and everyone waits and another hour passes and no explanation given. Finally next boarding time passes and then gate change and plane change and we are notified they needed to get new crew. Finally board. Landing was terrible and I dont feel particularly comfortable ever flying with this airline again. Will rather pay more and fly klm"
Pros: "My coat was stolen inside the flight, nobody from the airline was able to help. very poor service"
Cons: "no real effort or offer to be compensated we are still with cold temperatures here in Sweden - Holland, my coat goes missing in the cabin and the only explanation is, this could happen to anybody!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 30 minutes"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and the crew were very professional."
Pros: "Not super comfortable"
Cons: "Snacks/Drinks for free"
Pros: "They actually flew into the main airport"
Cons: "The whole priority thing is a total joke and just another way to f*** the passengers over why don’t they just give us a price without all this bloody nonsense of baggage"
Pros: "Crew were good considering the difficult situation they found themselves in"
Cons: "Once everyone had boarded we were told we would be on the tarmac for 2 hours before we leave. While we sat there we were told they could not serve us anything while on the ground...even water! When we finally were airborne the crew were overwhelmed with customer orders and not all people got served"
Pros: "The plane didn't crash"
Cons: "Plane left an hour after scheduled time. Amenities were mediocre but that's what you expect with Ryanair. Didn't even get water."
Pros: "I was pleased with the RyanAir staff at the Dublin airport and on the flight. Easy booking process and many options to help make traveling a bit easier"
Cons: "I have an American passport and did not realize I needed to get a visa stamp before boarding the plane. While I do realize now that it is mentioned on my boarding pass, there was no other mention of it along the way from arriving at the airport, checking my bag (I used self check), going throigh security, or anywhere else in the RyanAir terminal. Perhaps this could be made more clear for travelers who have never experienced this before."
Cons: "Rude gate agent and they played the blame game as to why they were late!"
Cons: "We spent a lot of time standing in lines."
Pros: "Arrived on time"
Cons: "Screaming children and little food on offer. No tea...again"
Pros: "Literally nothing."
Cons: "To be charged $20 at the ticket counter for a printed boarding pass is offensive. Despite having already checked in online, Ryannair apparently thinks I should have spent my holiday hunting down a print shop as not to incur their "get a printed boarding pass from an unpleasant ticket counter employee" fee. No boarding pass kiosks and unclear why they would not provide a digital one upon online check-in. Or rather it became clear as I handed over my debit card. Seats are intentionally designated apart from your travel companions so you'll pay more to have them switched to sit next your friend. Cabin is extra cramped. Ryannair is all-around terrible by budget airline standards."
Pros: "new plane"
Cons: "The fee to check in at the airport was absurd. There is no reason that they should not have been able to accommodate me when I was unable to check in online. The luggage is incredibly expensive as well."
Pros: "Very cheap flight, attentive and polite cabin crew"
Cons: "Delayed flight but left standing at the departure gate in Dublin waiting 30 mins for no reason"
Pros: "Boarding was quick from front and back. Food service aslo went both directions, quick and efficient."
Cons: "Arrival is horrific"
Pros: "Nothing even though the advertised price was cheap by the time we added on all the other charges we could have flown with a more reputable airlines and it was not a deal by no means."
Cons: "Everything. Abrupt staff at check in and on board staff also had attitude.Seats where dirty .We stood outside to wait to board when the plane was not even there and lucky it was not raining as we would all have being soaked. I don't know why we had to stand outside in the cold when the plane was not ready."
Pros: "Deboarding and never having to fly Ryanair again."
Cons: "Our inbound flight was cancelled. The outbound check-in agents we're rude. Forced to print our tix before arrival we "failed to read the fine print" that we were supposed to undergo a "visa check" before the gate. Whatever the heck that's about. First time requirement and totally obtuse. Gate agents did their best to humiliate. No inflight free services. Just be glad you aren't made to pay to pee (yet)."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled. Ruined my travel plans and made me miss another flight, bus ride, and also got charged for a hostel I never made it to. Thanks Ryan air!!"
Pros: "We arrived about 20min earlier than expected. Our bags were checked in for free and we got them on time and without issues at the baggage belt on arrival. Snacks and drinks are not free but available for purchase. There isn't any kind of on-board entertainment. We sat in the last row and we have plenty of leg room - surprisingly."
Cons: "No drinks for free. It would be nice to get at least a glass of water. But it is understandable that low budget- short flights are not offering such services anymore."
Pros: "The staff were okay."
Cons: "Everything else."
Cons: "Extra baggage cost"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Haven't received a response to my late flight from London to Dublin from Ryan Air- flight Fr143"
Pros: "Staff at Dublin and on board very helpful we were traveling with a two year old and they were great help. Flight good and arrived on time all round good experience"
Pros: "Take off delayed due to some technical issue, but still landed on time, very nice"
Cons: "Flight attendents were a little tough"
Pros: "They didn't make me check my bag on the first flight but did on the second. It cost me 50 Euro, which is more than I paid for the flight. Overall, good airline if you pack light."
Pros: "Meeting my seat mate!"
Cons: "Drunken rowdies from Ireland going to Amsterdam took over the cabin with obnoxious, vulgar behavior...fueled by the cabin staff selling the drunken crowd even more alcohol! One poor passenger had a seizure on the way to the runway and was subjected to their reticule! They should have been removed!"
Pros: "Flight went to plan, no problems boarding and on time."
Cons: "All good."
Pros: "Good price - the plane was clean and appeared well maintained."
Cons: "The airlines does nickle and dime you on other fees. I find it annoying that you need to print your boarding pass at home (or incur a fee) and still stand in line at the desk to check your boarding pass. We found it worth the extra fee for priority boarding. It improves the experience."
Cons: "U have to print boarding pass 2 hours before I did t See this written anywhere . Also they close the gate 30 minutes before and it takes 30 minotes to get to the gate Very difficult process so fate was closed and I had to pay 60 eu for luggage which was never clear anywhere and I had to check-in 3 hours before you have to check in before u can print the boarding pass so I was looking for a boarding pass but could t get it since I didn't know I had to check In???????? Mo5hi g explained anywhere!"
Pros: "Quick flight, no hassle."
Cons: "Delayed without explanation, boarded the plane then sat for 40 minutes waiting to take off."
Pros: "The flight was okay."
Cons: "One of the attendants was very rude to my group leaving Ireland. We had previously checked in to our flight but didn't have our boarding passes printed. Instead giving us direction, she sent us away to figure out how to get our boarding passes in an airport we had been in."
Cons: "half hour delay for take off :( sitting in cabin- cant use loos until plane is up... uncomfortable"
Pros: "The crew on the actual flight was nice. Also, a kind and patient Ryanair employee helped us with check-in after our awful experience with their customer service desk."
Cons: "The customer service representative at the Dublin airport for Ryanair was extremely rude and was annoyed from the moment we stepped up to the desk. Yes, Ryanair is a budget airline but it costs $0 to be nice and helpful especially if you are working in customer service."
Pros: "They were efficient and timely"
Cons: "We asked two Ryanair employees when we arrived at the import if our bags would b considered carry-on and then we were forced to pay $50 each at the gate to check our bags, making this economy flight much more expensive. We saw a number of people with bags as large as ours carry on and even the baggage attendants outside the plane were surprised. Wong fly Ryanair again due to one stubborn employee at the gate"
Pros: "Everyone was very nice, and the flight was uneventful. Will fly again and learned lesson about luggage fees."
Cons: "Had two bags to check. Paid for two bags in advance. Didn't know there was a total weight allowance across two bags. First bag ate up most of total weight allowance which forced me to pay for the overage on the second bag of €70. I thought I could bump up my second bag to the higher weight class when checking in instead of having to pay the overage charge that was three times as much. Found out during boarding they were checking bags for free...should have done carry on and avoided the extra costs."
Pros: "My children and I got seats together even though I didn't pre book."
Cons: "There would've been a £60 charge to prebook our seats together. I think this is excessive for suck a short flight."
Pros: "Price and noticable improvement from ryan air"
Cons: "Real value for money"
Pros: "I cancelled it because you changed the time. I hope it was refunded."
Pros: "Staff were friendly, no delays and we arrived on time! No complaints"
Pros: "They knew that there world be a 2 hour weather delay but boarded is on the plane and made us wait 2 hours so we wouldn't have the chance to reschedule our cancel."
Cons: "over head was so small could not get bag in that was perfectly fine on other flights. And it is the only airline that we had to go to verify passport . All other did it while we were in line."
Pros: "Quick easy boarding."
Cons: "2 Bachelourette parties were on the flight, they boarded already drunk. Singly loudly and shouting profanities across the plane. The cabin crew did nothing to discourage this and started selling them more alcohol. The 50 minute flight was spent trying to block out the screaming and shouting from these two groups."
Pros: "Timings, the plane was fine for the short journey we had."
Cons: "The boarding process and difficulty in hearing the crew member as he had a very strong Eastern European accent"
Pros: "Extremely efficient self service bag drop. Not as harsh as last time I flew with them many years ago. Was reluctant to fly them again but decided to give them another try since price was much better than others. Was pleasantly surprised."
Cons: "Seats do not recline."
Pros: ", bought a coffee & the male attendant told me how to use it . New filter lid"
Cons: "waiting to take off . Flight boarded early then we sat on plane . 12.50 flight & arrived just before 15.00."
Cons: "Over 1 hour delay! Really terrible"
Pros: "Lower prices are obviously attractive"
Cons: "They had to replace something mechanical, which made us 2 hours late. It also engenders a lack of trust that the lower priced airline isn't scrimping too much."
Cons: "Lines were ridiculously long and system was down. They claim to be the cheap airline but can't even give us a free carry on. Never again."
Pros: "simple flight from Dublin to Amsterdam."
Cons: "I paid 390 Euro. The guy next paid 35 Euro (one way). My place was at the back of the plane. Happy to pay more for more service, space. This is a rip off!"
