The crew were good. Everything else was poor.
The trip was very good..I loved that I received notifications all thru the trip.
The flight was delayed. Don't recall much else, as the flight was short and I slept through most of it.

Flight attendants allowing a school field trip to take over the flight. My seat was kicked for 7 hours straight, they did nothing."

Cons: "Flight took after 1.5 hours delay , with 30 min incremental delay notifications. After take-off, food service started 2 or 2.5 hours later , they could have expdited it considering that the flight was delayed. Seats ,as I have come to expect from Lufthansa , were cramped laterally ,although i was pleasantly surprised with how much they reclined, given my low expectations. Main dish in the Food service was served hot but were quite minimal in taste/quantity & variety comapred to other inter-continental providers. I was feeling hungry most of the flight and couldnt sleep as well."

Cons: "everything else. The franfurt airport closure made me miss school because they did not offer extra flights to accommodate all the displaced travelers. I had to stay in the Frankfurt airport for a FULL EXTRA DAY, and every time I tried to get a new ticket, or ask anyone for help, I was given the run around. No one was helpful. I talked to about a dozen Lufthansa employees that day and only one was helpful at all. It was a hellish nightmare. Before my last flight, I was furious with how I had been treated all day and a horrible Lufthansa woman yelled at me for being upset about the situation. Then, when after much hassle I finally got to my destination, I was told my baggage was lost. That was on thursday and I still have not gotten it. i am never flying lufhansa again. This was the worst trip of my entire life."

No alternative flights were offered, no additional information about how and when we can fly home. We had to stay one extra day on Salzburg since this was the only option given to us by Lufthansa when we finally spoke to them the next day. This experience with Lufthansa was absolutely disappointing and we will probably never book with them again."

However that was not the worst part of the arrangement between getting off the Aer Lingus plane and with so little time to reach the gate for our BA flight to Denver it was a total disaster. Due to a minor problem my wife had with her foot I had asked for a wheel-chair to be available when we got off the plane at Heatrow. Good job that I did because with out their help we would never have made it in time for your flight to Denver. Between up and down in elevators, running along the corridors, in and out of a bus and I myself trying to catch up with those poor attendants. I was sorry that I did not get a second wheel chair for my self. Only for the flight was delayed by about 20 minutes we would have missed the flight. Who ever was responsible for making the arrangements of just allowing a time of 1 hour and 10 minutes between flights needs to figure out a better time schedule before people of our age ends up getting stressed out and end up with a heart attack. Very stressful indeed, believe I will never let this happen to me again. Fly/Us you need to fix this."

Cons: "The airline lied to us and told us the flight was cancelled when in fact it wasn't. It was the connecting flight was overbooked from Dublin to Boston, and because it was they decided to pull us continuing on to Boston out of line and left us stranded in Berlin. They initially gave us the excuse it was cancelled but in fact it took off fine. We 10 people had to then wait 2+ hours in line trying to find alternative flights to get home. The 1 person behind the desk was slow and didn't actually complete the paper work properly. She had attempted to book me on a passage on British Airways but didn't do the paperwork correctly. I reported to the British Airways desk and found that she hadn't in fact done anything. It was to the British Airways person who actually got me home properly and safely. I would not recommend them any more to anyone. They didn't reimburse me, they didn't even attempt to tell me the truth, they didn't even do their job correctly. I recommend to others to fly a different airline."

Second, despite my efforts over a few months to make seat reservations, my daughter and i were separated. Aer Lingus reps in rome fixed that and I was very, very grateful for that, but when we got to the Dublin/Boston leg of our flight, they couldn't or wouldn 't fix the seating issue. On board the plane though, the flight attendents arranged for my daughter and I to sit together. Really upset me that I didn't know until the very last minute, on the plane, whether I was going to be able to sit next to my child."

Sadly though I believe most airlines operate this way now. I suppose it is what you pay for now. It sure isn't the way it was even a decade ago."

The Aer Lingus support number just rang and rang, no one picked up for days! My daughter tried the main Aer Lingus connection but they referred us back to the same phone number. NOT good customer service."

Especially considering they complained when we tried to recline our seats. Some support from the flight attendants would have been appreciated in that situation. But overall the flight was without major incidents and fairly comfortable."

I saw a lot of food being thrown away. Mine included. If you are trying to force people to buy food before they board, you have succeeded. TV displays and remote were very poor compared to your competitors."

Cons: "We only brought (2 - 1 each) carry on bags and were asked multiple times to check the bags even though they fit easily on the aircraft. We only had one hour to connect in London so we (1) could not risk losing our bags and (2) needed them for our things. Food was only available for purchase as is the case in the US now. British Airways was always a cut above in my eyes, now they are just part of the herd."

Cons: "Once were on board our pilot informed us there would be a 1 hour hold time by the tower. After 20 minutes, things changed and we left. We arrived late, but it was Terminal 3 to Terminal 3. Fast right? Nope. Walked for days and then we got to go through security again. Arrived to gate. More of room with in access, but no out access. Good thing there were bathrooms in there - oh no wait - there weren't. Good long wait with kids before we could board."
Cons: "Both when waiting in line to board and on the plane, the staff was acting like they were headmasters checking on passengers who had too much carryon. I understand that this is a problem for the airline but they should train their people to act in a friendly manner. There are different ways to say the same thing. Big turn-off at the beginning of the flight, which was an hour late due to weather conditions."
Pros: "United Airlines is putting customers and employees at risk. It is an insane and absurd as it is disgraceful. During boarding you will see painted arrows on the ground urging you to be "6 feet apart" from fellow travellers. You will then enter a the plane and be 6 inches apart as the plane will be FULL. Fly Delta where they block off middle seats and social distance. United CEO Scott Kirby does not care about customers or employees. The absurdity of the juxtaposition between the "6 feet" signs in the boarding area and the COMPLETE ABSENCE of distancing on board tells you everything you need to know about United."

Cons: "When at the boarding gate, the staff forced me to check my carry on because they said it was “too big”. But I was on a flight before hand that was much smaller and it fit in the overhead space there. When I try to tell them that it fit in the last plane and I fit it in the example been, they still made me check it. I believe they just picked me out for no reason. It was ridiculous and the lady was very rude. The crew on the flight was very nice and I like that they fed us multiple times. Also, the flight was very cold. Even with the blanket and cardigan, we could never get warm."
Cons: "95% of my united flights are delayed. Today, they overbooked and asked for a volunteer. I did so and was offered a $1,500 compensation. Instead of 8:00, I would arrive at 11:00. I was very excited and patiently waited for the plane to board, so I coulD receive my new flight info. The flight is inevitably delayed, as it always is with this airline: I would have ended up missing my connection, so it seemed to work out well. However, they’re about to close the doors when the agent says “it’s not overbooked anymore” she gave me the option to so either get on that flight and wing it on my layover to find another flight, or go to Newark. But I needed to make a decision at that moment. The agent revoked the $1,500 because it was no longer overbooked and her demeanor immediately changed from The kind, accommodating agent she was when she needed me to give up my seat. She became short and rude. I got the last available seat because I was the last to board and was forced to check my bag because there was no more room. All because I was willing to change my travel plans. I get to my layover, and the earliest flight I could get would land at midnight with an additional layover. Oh! And the first class seat I was supposed to have on my second leg was not available. All of this was while I was seriously ill— throwing up, just wanting to be home. Honestly, I’ve never liked United. I constantly get over it, because it’s often the less expensive option. At this point, I am so sick of how they treat their customers, and their inability to depart on time. Last time I let them put me through this again."

Cons: "I upgraded to a seat right at the front. Still ended up in boarding group 3, no room for my overhead luggage so I had to put it half way back on the plane. My $45 upgraded seat wouldn’t recline because it was broken and I still had to pay to have a bad checked. Oh, and the flight attendant simply said “ok” when I informed her of my seat malfunction."
Pros: "I have flown with untied twice now within a 1 month period and haven’t had one delay. Each time I flew from EWR to MXP I had on time and early flights. Anything from boarding to taking off has been on time and smooth."
Cons: "Economy seats need better cushion on the bottom of the seat. It’s brutal trying to sleep."
Pros: "The flight was great! The captain came out to greet everyone before we boarded the flight. it was a smooth ride and we got to milan sooner than expected! Can't get any better then that."
Cons: "The crew wasn't that nice. One lady in particular was extremely rude! I would cringe every time I heard her response to a customer. Her attitude was nasty and it seemed that she was in a rush to just get everything over and get off the plane. I wish I would've gotten her name because the others were great, but she didn't seem to be happy."

Cons: "The seats are way too small. Very uncomfortable for such a long flight. This is unacceptable. Also, Frankfort airport is too big and the connection required walking a very long distance. I will not be connecting here again and I will not fly United if other airlines fly to the same locations."

When I spoke to the person at he gate when we had to deboard, She was patient in explaining but didn't seem like she wanted to answer my questions in front of everyone else. I walked over to the United customer service desk. Wow. No sense of empathy whatsoever. They gave me the answers to my questions but I almost felt like I had done wrong asking what my options were. Never had an issue with Lufthansa. United customer service is a different story. I will try my best to avoid Lufthansa flights operated by United from now on."
Cons: "My flight to Pittsburgh was cancelled and NO attempt to rebook was made by united. No compensation. I had to fly to Cleveland and rent a car for $150 and drive to Pittsburgh. United refused to pay for my rental car. Terrible experience."

I felt that that was a very poor reflect of customer service. I expect more from United."

I was told my United that South African airlines doesn't have a "luggage contract" with ASky so my bags could not be tagged to my final destination. This is bizarre because Kayak didn't inform me of this when I bought my ticket otherwise I would never have bought that flight."
