Pros: "Actually pushed back from gate on time in Philadelphia. Took about 25 minutes from then til take off. Landed only a few minutes behind schedule. Crew was pleasant. Food was okay."
Cons: "It was a Finnair flight but operated by American Airlines. I booked through Justfly.com and paid extra for what I thought were our seats. Don’t pay Justfly for seating choice as the operating airline can switch your seats. Online checkin was difficult as I tried Finnair first with no luck, then got somewhere with American. Seats were not very comfortable but I guess that’s what you get in economy."

They tried to relocate us to the last row where the seats don't recline.they were very abusive and rude, we have it all on a body Cam and we'll lodge formal charges against American Airlines once we return to the States. Worse Trip EVER."

Cons: "American Airlines cancelled a flight because of ‘weather’ from Msy to dfw, all other flights from Msy to Dallas operated on time but were sold out. We were re booked flying through San Francisco, missing out on flying on qantas, which is what I had paid for since they are a premium airline. We were booked on virgin America and then United for the international flight. United charged us each for 2 bags totalling $150 each, despite we booked a ticket with qantas which allows 2 bags each. Virgin America honoured our 2 bags, but united refused to. United also has service and aircraft which do not match the levels of qantas which I has specifically sought out. I could not eat some of the food because of the poor quality, and this is something I’ve never done before on an international flight. Additionally their were a lack of amenities on both flights, and no food vouchers despite our travel delay of over 5 hours. This whole ordeal has cost me money, worktime, and created a lot of stress to where I have had to cancel meeting on my arrival in Sydney."

Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours, then moved to the next morning at 6am. Before we got to the hotel, the flight was pushed back to 8am. All for mechanical reasons. We've flown this route before, and have had an abnormally high number of mechanical issues. They seem to use older planes for these shorter flights, and it really shows. Technology could really help ease these situations. American's app does not allow you to look at rebooking options, so we had to stand in line for a solid 30 minutes to speak to an agent. Since it was the last flight of the night, there were only 3 agents there to help an entire plane's worth of people. Calling American didn't help. They couldn't help with hotel/food vouchers. These types of vouchers seem like something else that could be distributed through the app or electronically, eliminating the need to stand in line and grow increasingly frustrated. To add to the fun, the vouchers were not event enough to get a hot dog and drink for dinner, then a coffee and pastry for breakfast. Once we got the vouchers, trying to get to the hotel was a disaster. They had 1 van, so they could get about 10 people every 30 minutes. We just took and Uber, and were eating in the restaurant by the time others were still arriving from the shuttle. There was no one from American there to help coordinate with the hotel or shuttle. We were like blind sheep wandering around looking for the van. Finally, arrive for the flight the next day, and they start boarding about 10 minutes before the 8am takeoff time. So, of course, we were late getting off the ground. Then, when we arrived in Dallas, our gate was occupied by another plane, so we got to sit on an old plane for an extra 30 minutes until another gate opened up for us. Really, other than crashing, not much else could have gone wrong. Made American look completely incompetent...which is happening more the more we use them. Next time, I'll pay a higher fare to fly with Southwest."

Cons: "American after 4 hours delay cancelled the flight, AA refused to accept responsibility and refused to book me with another airline (my daughter was having surgery the next day and I was supposed to take care of her) I sent an email asking for them to cover the cost of my last minute ticket with the other airline, and they had refused. I will never fly AA again."

Felt like an exercise to improve flight scorecard performance. The flight landed at least fifteen minutes early...but we didn't have a gate..and ended up departing the planeapproximately on time...but planeside checked baggage took almost thirty additional minutes to finally return to the plane full of waiting customers. Felt way too long....and the ground crew didn't seem to appreciate that most people had a connection..."

Cons: "I purchased a round trip ticket to Miami for my infant son and I to accompany my wife on her business trip. First off, there was a 2.5 hour delay. The flight was overbooked. The lady at the ticket counter would not switch my seat to be seated next to my wife and 4 month old infant. Luckily the gentleman beside her was willing to switch seats so that she could comfortably breast feed our son. My checked luggage was severely damaged. The side of the luggage was caved in and one wheel was completely ripped off while the other was partially damaged. A cart had to be rented in order to transport the broken suitcase through the airport to the rental car service area where we picked up our car. The infant car seat belonging to a $180 traveling system was damaged and is missing pieces that secure the broken canopy. We were rudely advised by a staff member to file a report as she pointed in the general directional of a line a mile long. We have been advised by the manufacturing company to discontinue the use of this car seat because it is no longer considered safe for the baby to travel in. Should we ever be involved in an accident, the car seat would likely fail to ensure the baby's safety due to the mishandling by American Airline employees. Unfortunately since the flight was ridiculously delayed and my son was ill, we were unable to file the report. My wife has since contacted American Airlines via telephone and intends to write them a formal written complaint."

Pros: "There was a storm coming but they were able to get us out and landed before the storm hit so that we arrived on time. The flight attendants were also great."
Cons: "The pilot was a bit rude about overhead baggage. I was one of the passengers that had to check my bag before boarding which was fine, but it seemed like I walked onto a stressful plane situation where the pilot's tone sounded irritated with the passengers who put their smaller bags overhead instead of underneath. If it's that big of an issue, then I would suggest getting the flight attendants to suggest helping passengers to put smaller bags underneath and if they don't want to so be it. It just made me uncomfortable because the pilot had to come over the speaker and say something about it multiple times."

Once we were able to land in Newark, the gate was broken and could not connect to the plane. We sat another 45 minutes before they decided to let us connect to another gate. They gave everyone on the flight free tv after I had already paid $7.99 for mine and did not reimburse me."

Had a cup of ice water that I was sipping during the last half of the flight and ate one of my own granola bars. Was planning to give all my trash to her as soon as I was finished with everything, I didn't feel like this was unreasonable. Attendant stopped at our row with her usual "Trash? Trash?" I did not motion that I had trash, but I guess she thought I should be finished, because she made it a point to call me out and say "Excuse me, you don't have any trash?" I replied that yes, I have a granola bar wrapper but was planning to give all of that all together but she was welcome to take it now, and I handed it to her. She then said "And what about your cup?" I stated I wasn't finished with it, and motioned that it still had ice and water left inside. She then proceeded to roll her eyes at me, and without response moved to the next row with her "Trash? Trash?" The next time she came back down the rows, she actually had the audacity to skip my side of the row - did not even look my way - and I had to get her attention and hand her my trash over the back of my chair. Again, no response, and more rolled eyes. Don't be a flight attendant if you don't want to deal with people and the possibility that people aren't going to act exactly the way you want them to act. Be respectful."

Cons: "The staff was rude, bored, and appeared to be bothered by any request that was made. The flight was oversold, luckily I was able to get a seat (like I had booked and planned for) but my flight was horribly long. I was stuck next to someone that was drenched in perfume, it was so bad it hurt my sinuses. Since the flight was oversold there were no seats where I could move. Not like the attendants would have helped me anyways. I will not fly United again if I can help it."
