The boarding process was really bad. The flight was delayed two hours and yet they put up the sign that showed boarding opening an hour before the delayed takeoff time. Then they didn't actually open the gate until 15 minutes *after* our delayed boarding time with no announcements. Communication could have been much better.
Very good service. I was booked on a later flight that evening and I was facilitated on an earlier flight. Hostess was excellent
No entertainment on short haul, had to pay for water and snacks, luggages were not loaded. Aer Lingus passengers are treated not better than a low cost airline, if not worse

I almost gave up on watching a movie until I pulled out my iPhone headphones and realized that I could finally hear the dialogue over the roar of the plane."

Pros: "Having had bad experiences with Aer Lingus before, I was hesitant to book with Aer Lingus again. But sadly, I was booking this flight last minute and had no other option. The route was Dublin to Calgary, via Toronto. I left myself plenty of time im Toronto to clear customs as I know it can take a while. The day of, the flight ended up being 1.5 hours longer than usual due to headwinds, leaving me with only 2.5 hours in Toronto. I ended up waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes for my bag and missing my connecting flight (my sister who was also on the same flight received hers in 30 mins and made the flight). Westjet was wonderful and put me on a later flight but Aer Lingus didn't have any assistance for me."
Cons: "Aer Lingus lost my sister's luggage going to Ireland and never contacted my sister once the luggage was found. She only received it the day we flew back to Calgary. Poor customer service when inquiring about the bag, no compensation for necessities purchased."

It’s clearly a scam to extract more pricing data from customers."

This was one of the many stupid rules that were constantly effected during the flight -" you can't do this, you can;t do that" and whilst i understand some are for safety - I and fellow passengers felt like we being scolded like school children"

Priority boarding for club world passengers was not available because staff were checking in people in turn from the queue so if you were a ClubWorld passenger and at the back of the queue like me you just had to wait your turn Once I was at the desk I was told priority boarding was possible but there were no signs or specific area where you could go to take advantage of that the only option would have been to push the way to the front of the queue in front of all of the economy passengers it would've been very difficult to say can you get out of the way please I'm a ClubWorld passenger I'm trying to get to the priority boarding desk !!

It also took the entirety of the 3 hour flight for the service cart to make it to the back of the plane. This was after a 2 hour delay during which they provided only sporadic updates. Overall, quite a poor experience which would make me hesitate to fly BA again given a choice of comparable airlines."

Cons: "My special kosher meal cause me to immediately have stomach cramps and estreme nausea - within 20 min of eating it. I had horrible pains and could not use the bathroom due to landing. Upon landing I ran to the use the restroom and the staff promised to keep an eye on my bags. When I exited the bathroom after being violently ill, no one was on the plane except the cleaning staff, and no one was keeping an eye on my bags. I found my purse unzipped. Luckily nothing seems to be stolen. I proceeded to vomit and have food poisoning symptoms the next few hours while waiting for my connecting flight to Rome. I vomited through the entire flight to Rome - no one seemed particularly concerned. No one asked if I needed a hospital. British Air would not take a report about the food poisoning onsite. Nothing was done to help me change my flights to avoid flying so sick or make any helpful suggestions whatsoever."

I got immediately greeted by a flight attendant and got offered a glass of water (real glass) followed by a warm towel. The seats were wider and had more leg room than in economy and reclined more. The food was delicious and served with real silverware. Complimentary blanket, a pillow, socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, ear plugs and a sleep mask ensured that I got a good few hours of sleep. I was definitely much more rested than I would have been in an economy seat and very grateful for the upgrade!"
