Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "See review for previous leg of flight."
Cons: "See review for previous leg of flight."
Cons: "Kayak is a horrible company and not easy to work with. They have screwed me royally and I will say nothing but bad things about them. They should not even be in business the way they have handled my situation including hanging up on me multiple times and changing the rules for flight changes, etc. Saying I am unhappy is an understatement."
Cons: "Flight was delayed once we had boarded, so we had to sit at the gate for about 2 hours, which was not the crew's fault of course, however, they could have offered drinks. Once we finally got in the air, they only offered purchasable snacks in a way that was confusing--and did not even come through the cabin with complimentary drinks. Given the circumstances, and the fact the time in our seats was extended by over two hours, there could have been some better service from the actual flight attendants. It should have been clearly stated at the beginning of the flight, and once more when we were in the air, that no complimentary drinks were going to be handed out, and if we wanted anything, we would need to purchase it. I wouldn't have minded purchasing if I had known that was my only option."
Pros: "Crew was great!"
Cons: "Can't complain."
Cons: "Flight delayed due to late arrival of aeroplane."
Cons: "Transferring to another airline that was “serviced by”. British Airways ended up being 2 hours of stress, confusion and running to our gate. This should be made apparent while booking. Had to go through security 3 times in Toronto."
Pros: "Crew awesome"
Cons: "No all was great"
Pros: "Crew were very good"
Cons: "Could do with some entertainment ie. a film"
Pros: "Never made it onto the plane due to flight departing early and my flight landed in Dublin late. So there was no experience for me on this flight"
Cons: "The flight to Madrid left with about 15 passengers waiting to leave the flight from Chicago. We landed before our flight to Madrid was to depart. But by time we walked out we all missed our flight and had to rebook. I’m sure the flight to Madrid could’ve waited for the 15 of us. But they didn’t."
Pros: "Same comments"
Cons: "Same comments"
Pros: "I liked the variety of movies/television series shows that were available and having USB charger at every seat. Also liked that they gave headphones free of charge as well as pillows and blankets."
Cons: "The seats were fairly narrow and I had the unfortunate luck of having a mechanical box at foot space taking away half of it. (on the previous flight there was no box and foot space was fine). On this journey I was sitting on the aisle being constantly bumped by the crew moving up and down the aisles. I’m not a big person and wasn’t in the aisle however, on the aisle opposite me was a bigger person. The crew were constantly moving to avoid that person and hitting me. Expect tight seating and narrow aisles."
Cons: "Even though all correspondence told me I could check in 24 hours ahead and choose a seat, after repeatedly trying, I gave up. I even called and was told I could do it, but I couldn’t. Because of that, I got a crappy seat. Another man and I stood outside of a bathroom for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come out, and we finally discovered that a flight attendant had locked it from the outside because of turbulence and forgot to open it. My checked bag was tagged with the priority sticker. I had a tight connection to catch a bus once I got to Boston. My bag came out of the carousel exactly 15 minutes after the first bag came out. That’s priority???"
Cons: "Before we boarded this plane we arrived at Aer Lingus for a 2 hour layover. The airport only had a snack bar open and an express bar with only drinks. There was cafes upstairs but that was closed off to hundreds of people with a layover between flights. When asked they said it was closed off by escalater and elevator to all of us. They blocked the escalator with a giant gate sign. People waited in line at a snack for over 20 mins for a bite to eat that was express food or a choice of 5 sandwiches that came hot that actually sucked not worth the money at all. People were pissed! I was looking forward to a nice meal for my layover but that definitely did not happen! They only came around once with drinks on a 6 hour flight, then twice for coffe and tea. When I asked for a sprite they said they ran out of things completely"
Pros: "on board staff very friendly and helpful on ground staff in Dublin airport"
Cons: "on ground staff for AER LINGUS at Miami airport- unable to communicate proper in English, does not know own luggage policy Aer Lingus rep ( when making our reservation 4 moths ago) mislead us that we were able to get a bassinet for our 11 month old lap infant on transcontinental flights- never happened."
Pros: "great on board staff great on ground staff in Dublin"
Cons: "4 month ago where promised a bassinet for lap infant on transcontinental flight which was every time confirmed when calling in prior checking in. Once on the plane were told no bassinets available anymore due to many baby's on board. That was a deception! And a lie! All seats with capabilty for a bassinet were occupied by able healthy adults! There WAS not 1 bassinet on the plane!! Terrible check in staff in Miami...can barely communicate in English (for AER LINGUS!!)...they did not know their own luggage allowance policy...had difficulties to check in a lap infant."
Pros: "Staff held the plane 30 minutes to allow us to make the flight."
Cons: "Its hard to sleep on the plane when staff"
Cons: "Buying via Kayak seemed to put us in second class status with Aer Lingus. We couldn’t get seats ahead, nor could we check in. We never received any notices from Kayak or Aer Lingus or Justfly who processed the sale."
Pros: "I made it on the plane because they decided to delay the fight for the ones of us that almost missed our flight so to the flight from Dublin being late."
Cons: "The Food!"
Pros: "The fly from London to new work was very good Very comfortable , there were many empty seats since the Hamburg airport on Sunday had a mayor outage And we were forced to change our fly and stay one more day , the representative on the phone were very helpful! When we contact them to check out fly"
Cons: "We lost a day since we supposed to return on Monday but because the outage we were forced to stay one more day in our hotel at our own expense We had pay for insurance but not sure if was cover at that moment we were tired and frustrated since they block the entry to the airport and we were force to turn around and go back to our hotel witch was hrs away , couldn’t Get nothing near by everything was bucked and all airports around as well The return was very stressful but we enjoy our stay in Germany"
Pros: "Cabin crew"
Cons: "Pilot failed to inform us why we were sitting on the tarmac for 40 mins before taking off."
Pros: "The plane was just fantastic: comfortable, elegant, quiet. Gets the best note!"
Cons: "A free coffee - which was excellent by the way - and a little roll would have been nice."
Cons: "Let's see... Refused to check my bag because the flight was "over booked". The plane blew an engine on takeoff and then landed in Shannon, IR (150 miles west of Dublin). Once there, the airline had no idea what to do with us passengers (for 4 hours), eventually deciding to put us on buses back to Dublin. Once back there we were offered stand by flights to London, where we could try to find flights back to the U.S. (again, on stand by). When we finally got on another Aer Lingus flight (3 days later), my wife and I were asked for $80 to check a second bag. When we asked the desk agent to wave the fee because of our 1st flight mishap, we were told "Hey, you lived through it, didn't you?". Avoid this airline"
Pros: "I had much admiration for the 2 sets of parents of 2 screeching babies who were basking in total oblivion as to the aggravation their little bundles of joy were creating among the 100 other passengers. To be that insensitive to others is quite a feat. What could they have done, you ask? When my children got unruly on flights (very rarely) my wife whisked them off to the bathroom until they were calm. It's what responsible parents do. Not sit and smile at you. And when we reached Munich, we waited more than a half hour for luggage that came in spits and spurts... It was the perfect final flourish to a miserable 12 plus hours on your airline. I'm thrilled at the prospect of my return to LA next week and what surprises may be in store for me!"
Cons: "It was mercifully short..."
Cons: "The connection time of 1.5 hour is barely enough for going to U.S. because U.S. pre-custom clearance takes a long time. This should be taken into consideration when the airline provides this flight option. When we get boarding pass for the second leg, Dublin to LAX, the way seats are assigned doesn't make any sense. I was assigned to row 12 but my husband was assigned to row 36. We checked in together. When we got on board, there were plenty of seats available, so it did not make sense that we were not assigned together."
Pros: "Food was definitely improved!"
Pros: "I loved the timeliness of the food service, and the options available for beverage service. The selection of movies and music available on the TV screen in the seat back was great, and allowed the time on the long plane ride to pass a little faster. The captain was extremely informative, about our flight path, the wind conditions, weather at our destination, etc. I particularly enjoyed the information he provided, because on some flights, you rarely hear from the person flying the plane."
Cons: "The boarding process was interesting: those that needed assistance and business class 1st (understood), but then front of the plane, back of the plane, and finally the middle. I don't feel this made things go any faster - we still waited in line for quite some time in the jetway. I don't understand having front, back, and middle. Just let all economy get in line, or do something efficient like load the window seats first, the aisle, and for the seats in the middle of the plane, have the middle seats load 1st, and then the aisle seats. Seats got uncomfortable during the flight. Also, the person in front of me reclined ALL the way, so the top of her seat was only a few inches in my face. Most flights I have been on don't allow the seats to recline that far. I could barely get out of my seat to get up and go to the bathroom."
Pros: "Every seat had it's own t.v.; however, the movie selection was limited compared to the British Airways flight we took to Dublin. We were served a meal that did not require an additional fee which was great, but the taste was so-so. The crew was competent and pleasant."
Cons: "The entertainment (movie) selection was not that great."
Cons: "At Frankfurt Main airport the check in counter had initially only one person and the lines were very long. After about 30 minutes they opened 2 more counters. We were waiting at the gate for the bus and the flight time had passed , but no announcement that the flight is delayed. finally we get on the plane and then we get an announcement that we the plane does not have clearance for another hour and half. The entertainment on board is very very old stuff, and shockingly the food is also bad and no vegetarian food."
Pros: "Seats comfortable, crew pleasant"
Cons: "My plane was broken, they had no idea when and if we were going fly away. Once the plane was brought to the gate, mechanics had the engine apart inspecting it. Then they caused a fuel spill during fill up which caused the fire trucks to come. This was very discomforting for 300 people waiting for 4+ hours to get on their plane. Once on the plane internet did not work, and my in seat entertainment was rebooting often. I spent 7+ hours at Dublin Airport, sick with a sinus congestion... Plus all the restaurants and shops were closed due to it being after hours of their operation. Last time flying this airline."
Cons: "After booking 2 months in advance to be placed at the LAST ROW next to the toilets? I will think long and hard before booking Aer Lingus."
Pros: "On time departure and early arrival. Friendly cabin staff. Captain kept us informed of our position without being intrusive. Comfortable seats and reasonable legroom in coach."
Cons: "Wasn't able to check in online, but my wife could, and we were on the same reservation."
Pros: "We did arrive early, and safely to our destination. Pilot was informative and efficient. Staff are hit or miss on friendliness and efficiency."
Cons: "Second flight with aer Lingus, second time my baggage has been lost. Phone operators are shockingly rude and unhelpful, and retrieving my luggage is an unnecessary pain. Hopefully this time will be less frustrating than the last one. I'll simply never understand what is so difficult about putting baggage on the flight it is meant to be on; there were at least twenty other people both times that had missing luggage. Food this time was pretty gross, but have never had an issue with it personally before."
Cons: "When I sat down at my seat, the entertainment screen froze. I kept telling the flight attendants to help me out and they kept resetting my screen but nothing happened. So they gave me a complimentary Wi-Fi card, but there was no service or wifi available. One flight attendant tried to help and said he would come back. 45 minutes later... he never came back! I pressed the call button to get the flight attendant's attention, and no one came for an hour and a half! They saw the light above my seat, but they just kept walking past me! I raised my hand to get their attention, but they ignored me and walked right past me! I appreciate the fact that they were trying everything they could do to help me out, but when they started ignoring me every time I asked them for help...that was just rude and my anxiety began to rise! Worst flight experience I have ever encountered."
Pros: "I had an aisle seat."
Cons: "There was very little leg room, and no comfort for a tired traveler. This was the last leg coming in from Boston and having a 2 hour layover before continuing. The 2 hour trip seemed longer than the 6 hours it took to get to Dublin. The food service never even asked my row if they wanted to buy drinks/ food, even though my seat neighbor clearly put their tables down in anticipation of getting something to eat/ drink. A set of travelers had difficulty comprehending the rules about sitting in the exit row, and the stewardess was not very helpful, but looked angry and exasperated."
Cons: "Lost my luggage for two days. Follow-up on lost luggage was extremely poor. As far as plane flight: No place to charge phone on transatlantic flight. Charged for *all* food and drinks including 4 Euros for cup of tea! Plane was very late leaving, and very late arriving. Plane seats were significantly smaller than on other airlines' international flights. Can't see any reason to fly Aer Lingus again."
Pros: "I thought the staff worked very hard and were very friendly."
Cons: "Leg room was minimal. I don't think you should allow seats to go back since I inevitably sit behind someone who puts his all the way back and I feel like a pretzel. It seemed like a very expensive ticked to feel like that."
Pros: "check in process was easy"
Cons: "Our 2 carry-on bags were moved to checked in just before we got in. We were told that it was because it was a full flight. So what do I see in the overhead bins? 2 carry ons with "crew" tags. What bulls**t. This was a very good airline 20 years ago. Not anymore"
Cons: "Are Lingus is non responsive to their customers. When I called them about their change in my schedule, I was on hold for 45 minutes before someone answered the call. I explained my situation that because they changed my flight that I would now have to get a hotel, stay overnight and fly out the next day. They said there was nothing they could do and refused to pay for the hotel or meals that would be incurred as a result of their changing my flight. This was after I explained that I had originally paid more for the tickets on their airline so I would NOT have a long layover. Worst customer service I have ever encountered."
Pros: "Nice, new clean aircraft, excellent meal service, very very friendly crew, top notch the minute we got on plane"
Cons: "Two major problems, when we went to check in, we stood in line and were very rudely told by some German British Airways attendent that we couldn't check in with them and that we needed to go to Aer Lingus, this even though our reservations were through British Airways. Second, despite my efforts over a few months to make seat reservations, my daughter and i were separated. Aer Lingus reps in rome fixed that and I was very, very grateful for that, but when we got to the Dublin/Boston leg of our flight, they couldn't or wouldn 't fix the seating issue. On board the plane though, the flight attendents arranged for my daughter and I to sit together. Really upset me that I didn't know until the very last minute, on the plane, whether I was going to be able to sit next to my child."
Cons: ""Breakfast" sandwich of egg. Also boarding was not by rows from the rear so everyone was blocking everyone else."
Pros: "Pleasant crew, efficient boarding, comfortable seats. Food was good as was the wine I purchased."
Cons: "First set of earphones didn't work properly. Second set was better, but sound quality was still weak. Had dual prong outlets, so couldn't use my own. Entertainment offerings were decent, but not great compared to other airlines."
Cons: "Our son's luggage did not make it to Barcelona with us. We arrived on Sunday. He was called Monday that a delivery service would bring to him that evening, but they did not show up. They were to come Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning and never showed up. He finally had to take a $35.00 cab to airport to get the luggage. NOT a good experience. The Aer Lingus support number just rang and rang, no one picked up for days! My daughter tried the main Aer Lingus connection but they referred us back to the same phone number. NOT good customer service."
Cons: "The problem I had is that this was not a British Airways flight, nor were my flights to Dublin. I was not aware of this. When I checked in online I was allowed to check in with British Airways, so I had no idea that this was an Aer Lingus flight, which is in a different terminal with a different flight number. My phone didn't work in Ireland so it was extremely difficult figuring out where I should have been. If I was on a different airline that is affiliated with British Airways, and I booked through British Airways, there should be some way of looking up where I should be going. Also, any emails about my trip should have told me which airline I was on. I fly often, and often to other countries. This was the most confusing and difficult flying experience (the entire trip -- getting to and from Dublin) I have ever had."
Cons: "We arrived in Toronto from Dublin to get our connecting flight with two very tired children and were told by Air Canada that our connecting flight was never booked by Aer Lingus. We were told that the flight we were supposed to be on was full and there was no flights until the next morning. To top it off Air Canada could not locate our baggage and we were told to wait around and check back every half hour. If was past two in the morning Dublin time and our kids were exhausted and fell esleep in the airport. We could not wait around any longer with exhausted children so we booked a hotel and took our kids there without our luggage. Our kids were crying because our baggage was lost and thus was a shitty way to end our vacation and my birthday! Would not recommend flying with Aer Lingus or Air Canada. Horrible service."
Cons: "There wasn't any food choices for people who are vegetarian. Needed more soft drink options and a lot more blankets to go around."
Pros: "Crew was good. They were a bit slow with the drinks and food though."
Cons: "The seat in front of me was broken so every time the passenger in front of me reclined, she was basically in my lap."
Pros: "On time Easy and no issues"
Cons: "more space and be able to recline"
Cons: "Did not honor easy boarding!"
Pros: "From checkin, to boarding, to the fly, to luggage collection - the staff were all friendly and helpful and the whole experience was without issue. The flight was comfortable, leaving a touch late and arriving 10 minutes early. I have no complaints at all and would be happy to fly Iberia Express again."
Cons: "If I had to find one thing that wasn't so good - it was the time it took for everyone to put their carry-on luggage in the overhead lockers although this is not the airline's issue but became their issue because it meant the boarding process took a while. As mentioned - only a minor issue."
Pros: "modern plane, large overhead bins, comfy seat with adjustable headrest, very good entertainment system"
Cons: "There was a broken restroom on the plane in the main section, so then, they should keep an eye on the remaining restrooms as they get dirtier sooner. Madrid barajas airport is an ordeal, Iberia needs to explain better that passport control happens when you get to terminal 4S on the tram AND then there are TWO more passport controls. then there isn't enough space for people to line up for the various groups, creating friction. Iberia just needs to be more organized."
Pros: "Comfy seat."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for more than an hour"
Cons: "Fly on time"
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "Couldn't find out online which gate my flight was leaving from. Long bus ride from jetway to plane. No in-flight entertainment, uncomfortable seats."
Pros: "Nothing at all"
Cons: "Seating, more space, luggage delivery"
Pros: "Delay of 1 hour, but flight was good!"
Pros: "Gate was extremely crowed and disorganized. Non-European citizens must present passport. That requirement should be clearly stated."
Cons: "Travel notifications should mention documentation requirements."
Cons: "more comfortable seats and space, better food"
Pros: "All ok"
Cons: "Free WiFi never worked !!"
Pros: "The food is very good in 1st class."
Cons: "Even though 1 of the 3 stewards was really excellent at everything (foremost his impecable attitude towards passengers), nothing is really standing out anymore in IBERIA 1st class. It used to be extremely good, but now everything is banal. No attention to detail or pleasantness. The one thing that really concerns me is that Spanish stewards, more the women than the men, are becoming more rude than before. I understand that some passengers must be a hassle from time to time, but this is their one and only job, so a nice attitude is of the utmost importance."
Cons: "Delayed flight from Milan to Barcelona caused us to miss the connecting flight and we were stuck in Spain for the night. Will not get back to US for another 2 days."
Pros: "I was not impressed with the servi"
Cons: "Counter people needs to be trained to learn how to use relationship with costumers"
Cons: "I can’t rate it is it left without us"
Cons: "We booked flights with more than 75 mins connection time in Madrid but then the airline changed their schedule which reduced our connection to less than 55 mins. I was traveling alone with my 5 & 7 year old and we had to run non-stop from our 1st domestic flight to the international one, changing terminals, passing passport control (huge lines), and another security. No help from Iberia at all in terms of providing any assistance like a shuttle bus, quick passage thru passport or security. And they were nonchalant in terms of “if you miss your connecting flight, it’s your problem...”. Come on, we paid $4,500 for 3 tickets, and deserve better customer service than this, specially when you changed the flight schedule for your operational reasons!"
Pros: "Saving grace: movie selection much better than expected. Food a bit better than expected (in the world of airline food). Crew capable & nice enough. We got to our destination on time, so at least there’s that."
Cons: "Boarding @ JFK was a joke. That part of airport is currently under construction, so massive # of ppl & not enough room for everyone. Once on plane, all reasonably good until we reached altitude & settled in for the evening. At that point, for some reason the heat came on between rows 39 & 46 (we were in row 45) & was on all. night. long. on an overnight flight. Crew was baffled & didn’t know how to fix. I was melting & miserable — impossible to sleep. Cramped, basic economy seats. Awful experience."
Pros: "Fairly standard international flight. In flight meals were fine. Seats were spacious enough (6’3” I need the legroom)."
Cons: "Not a terrible negative in the slightest; the onboard entertainment won’t load until the plane is in crushing altitude. Thought it was weird as that has never happened before, but not really a problem"
Pros: "Everyone was very nice"
Cons: "Some more space"
Pros: "The screens on a dozen seats just failed a few hours in - engineering issue. And breakfast was a cold pretzel. Food gets let’s generous on BA all the time. The crew were lovely."
Cons: "A 2330 Flight ran significantly late with a passenger delay and then de-icing. The repeated assurances of “a 10 minute or so delay” were obviously not correct. Takeoff close to 0100 was followed by drinks AND then food - my vote would be neither. Please oh please just let us sleep."
Pros: "fast boarding"
Cons: "food is expensive"
Pros: "The crew members were all very kind!"
Cons: "Unfortunately, the wifi was not working the entire 8-hour flight."
Cons: "One of the shows I started watching on had one episode. Handmade tail?"
Pros: "Every thing"
Cons: "Second time they lose my luggage. After 9 hours in the airport they were not able to put my luggage in the right place."
Pros: "La comida en el vuelo está bien y las sobrecargos muy amables."
Cons: "Los asientos muy incómodos para un vuelo tan largo"
Pros: "Price to fly on this airline is very reasonable and affordable. I would fly on on this airline just for that reason alone."
Cons: "Seats are VERY small and squished together."
Pros: "This trip would have been another good experience for me flying with Iberia if it wasn't for the man that was sitting behind me. He didn't want me to recline my seat because he wanted to cross his legs... I told him that the guy in front of me had his seat reclined all the way and I wanted (sort of needed) to do the same, then he got aggressive with verbal abuse, called me names and he punched my seat. So I called the flight attendant and told her about the incident. She was nice and calm and told the man in a very respectful way that I wasn't doing anything wrong and he should not behave in an aggressive manner, etc. The man kept mumbling insults addressed to me while talking to his wife and making sure I was hearing it.... And he kept kicking my seat every now and then, and made a fuss every time he went to the toilet. He really ruined my flight experience to New York."
Pros: "Comfortable flight good crew and entertainment"
Pros: "The AA Tampa crew need to train the IB crew on customer service"
Pros: "Too long to check in not enough counter open , I was at the airport at 0500 for 0745 flight almost missed my flight when you don’t have the choice to do it online. Nothing is offered on the flight not even water spacialy after running around to find the gate, not on time made international connections difficult"
Pros: "Comfort and crew were good,"
Cons: "Delay in takeoff due to equipment repair"
Pros: "Aircraft is comfortable (A340-600)"
Cons: "One of the flight attendants was rude."
Pros: "The amability of the crees"
Cons: "All was excellent"
Pros: "Landing was perfect"
Cons: "Everything was fine"
Cons: "Lack of organization"
Cons: "After a delayed flight coming to Madrid, I was faced with an unbelievably long boarding control line, it seemed clear that I would miss my flight! Crew then stopped all people from going up to the security check point except those headed to London! But I was going to miss my flight to JFK also. This process was so poorly managed!!!! The crowd became very angry, some people even started pushing, yelling and becoming violent. I feared for my safety. I pleaded with a crew member to let me through, and eventually she did, but the process was frightening and chaotic!!!"
Pros: "Quick flight - the staff was great and prompt for boarding. They were really accommodating and friendly. The seats were comfy although small. I feel asleep numerous times with no problem, lol."
Cons: "There were no negatives with this flight. I felt it matched the pricing and what I expected."
Pros: "Staff was friendly, bathrooms kept clean, and seats were comfortable. Entertainment was top notch."
Cons: "We kept trying to order water and food from our screens but the process was complicated, long, and ultimately didn't work. The system is buggy."
Pros: "Meal and drinks"
Cons: "Flight was extremely packed and 5 hours long. It was loterlly from hell."
Pros: "the food and the entertaiment"
Cons: "long trip"
Pros: "The entertainment was good when it was working"
Cons: "Service was horrible. Announcements were not being made adding to confusion in the cabin"
Pros: "Extremely professional, capable, friendly staff. Very good food. Great selection of films. Comfortable seating."
Pros: "The staff is incredibly friendly and they serve you a lot of food and drinks. I think the seats on the larger planes are older but they are more comfortable for me and I loved my movie selections! I took 4 flights with Iberia 2 long ones (11 hours each way) and two shorter ones (5 hours each way) and they were on time, friendly and very comfortable on every flight! I will definitely be flying with them again!"
Pros: "Very comfortable and friendly crew."
Cons: "They start boarding on time, but inexplicably kept people waiting on the jetbridge and did not allow anyone to actually pass through the airplane doors."
Pros: "I liked the cabin crew, Iberia has the most beautiful bears on board! So handsome guys on beard!!!!!!!"
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "No priority lane for frequent flyers at MAD, no lounge at IBZ to use if your return is on BA (thought that was the same company?) Rude employees. Flight still not credited to AA 6 months later."
Cons: "They claimed my reservation had been cancelled, I had to call the airline, they showed I was still confirmed. this wasted a lot of time and i almost missed my flight."
"Everything was smooth and fine."
"ryanair.... +2h late departure.... at least it didn't crash"
Pros: "Cheap, saved me when I was in a pinch, and easy check in. I loved being able to check in on the app and check my own bag!"
Cons: "It was difficult to understand what the flight attendants were saying over the intercom. Between the masks and the intercom, nothing came across well. Please continue to wear masks, but perhaps find a clearer way to communicate for those of us that are hard of hearing. I was too embarrassed to say “what!?” 84 times. It’s not their fault."
Pros: "Staff on Ryanair always pleasant and good good, flight smooth and always on time"
Cons: "Nothing about this Flught I didn’t like"
Pros: "Not super comfortable"
Cons: "Snacks/Drinks for free"
Cons: "No issues"
Pros: "Used tissue stuck in the seat from previous flight ."
Pros: "Took off on time"
Cons: "Random seat allocation due to not paying the extra fee?"
Pros: "I slept as soon as I found my seat - as did Mr. (very) Longleg next to me. Could not lean back, but never mind, it was a short flight."
Cons: "taking a cheap flight - take it or leave it. I'll do it again."
Pros: "Seat not too cramped. We didn't get lost - as BA flight did recently!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed! Info re delay was limited."
Pros: "Decent enough flight, seats comfortable enough for short haul wouldn’t want to go long haul on the same seats, good selection of onboard snacks"
Cons: "Flight was half hour late, priority seats should be reserved for the first seats on the plane rather than scattered all over the plane, suitcases shouldnt be allowed on board they take up too much space for anyone else and slow down the boarding of the plane as people attempt to haul them up the stairs, some staff could be more polite and less abrupt and some could attempt to speak louder and clearer"
Cons: "Crew at baggage drop/departure gate seemed that they didn't want to be there and they were not very pleasant to the people boarding. Ryan Air had changed their baggage policy after we booked. Originally allowed one carry on and one personal bag. Now you have to purchase priority to take both"
Pros: "Ryanair still don’t have enough leg room for taller people. Very uncomfortable. Cheap but not that cheerful if you’re over 6 ft"
Cons: "More leg room or exit seats for taller people"
Pros: "Crew were good considering the difficult situation they found themselves in"
Cons: "Once everyone had boarded we were told we would be on the tarmac for 2 hours before we leave. While we sat there we were told they could not serve us anything while on the ground...even water! When we finally were airborne the crew were overwhelmed with customer orders and not all people got served"
Pros: "Just ok"
Cons: "Nothing to complain, no delays."
Pros: "It was a great flight staff A1 and beautiful flying from knock, hadn't done for years , hot paninis great food better than Emmirates I flew with over the Christmas"
Cons: "a series of frustrating events, all of which i had to pay for, none of which were justified"
Pros: "Online Check-in early"
Cons: "flight takeoff was delayed by an hour. No explanation was given at all"
Cons: "We spent a lot of time standing in lines."
Cons: "The really need one of their newer planes ✈️ for the lanzorote route. Longer seatbelts needed."
Pros: "Crew attentive and helpful"
Cons: "Having to pay for drinks. Even water. Other carriers you get food and drinks free. Ryanair might say it's cost saving but readjust can do it. And £3 for a bottle of water is ridiculous."
Pros: "Ryan Air 5.5 hrs Flight Delay from Glasgow, Scotland to Dublin, Ireland (Draft 2.1) Our flight from Glasgow, Scotland to Dublin Ireland on September 22nd with Ryan Air was delayed for 5.5 hrs (165 minutes) for unexplained reasons. We were supposed to depart at 3:25 pm and we actually departed at 8:55 pm when the plane actually began to move from the terminal to the runway. Over the ensuring 5.5 hr. delay there was no plausible reason given by gate staff or the bag check-in staff or the electronic flight board of daily departures in the Glasgow airport. Here is what we heard from all 3 communication sources stated in the previous sentence: • Seven (7) actual time delays of actual flight departure times (electronic flight board) ranging from: 3:25 pm, 4;30 pm; to be scheduled; moved to 5:15 pm; 6:30 pm; 8:00 pm; 9:00 pm; check with the gate. • Waiting for a plane to arrive......... • We have no idea...... • Waiting for a plane and a crew to arrive.... • Corporate is working on finding an available plane...... • I don't know....we will post the details when they are known to us..... The Scottish Times Newspaper (Sept. 21 or 22), reported that Ryan Air had allowed too many pilots to go on vacation at the same time which had made the entire flight schedule prone to long flight delays and numerous flight cancellations. What was reported on the various UK news shows was very different. Their were serious labor issues between Ryan Air's pilots and management, particularly Dennis O'Leary the CEO, over work conditions including pay and job performance. Those of us who read local UK newspapers had an inkling that the pot was boiling. However, as the actual departure delay went beyond the scheduled 3:23 pm, passengers were uneasy about our hotel rooms in our destination cities still being held and whether any drop-off family members should go home or be available if the flight was ultimately cancelled. What made it worse was Ryan Air realized that they were in violation of the European Union flight delay rule so they passed out FLIGHT DELAY POLICY to those waiting in line. The gate crew and the check-in folks outside security told us about having to provide all passengers two (2) free phone calls except that this would mean leaving security at the expected gate and going back to the Ryan Air check-in counter and back through security. A very arduous process one more time. Ryan Air has very arcane booking rules so if I change my checked baggage to a larger size, my only option was to add an additional piece of luggage at a very stiff cost. In our opinion, Ryan Air is a very poorly managed airline and the most customer-combative airline we have ever encountered in our many flights throughout the UK and Europe. Without hesitation, we would not recommend Ryan Air under any circumstances and would be willing to pay more with other carriers who take better care of their customers. [Customer names withheld for privacy reasons - 9/26/2017.]"
Cons: "I felt it ironic that our two smallish rolling duffel bags were not the right parameters to take on board, and just enough over the weight limit to rack up bag charges of about 35 E ea, ea way between Dublin and Glasgow, so actually our luggage charge is more than our set of tickets for this particular trip. No wonder the owner's a billionaire--however, on the positive side, the pilot landed "like butter" in Glasgow AND we heard that the Ryanair owner actually does pay millions in taxes for the good of Ireland. (Sigh...)"
Pros: "I only had an hour to grab my luggage and my next boarding pass. I made it to my flight with over ten minutes to spare."
Pros: "I didn't really have anything positive to say about Ryanair"
Cons: "The fact that a carry on on any other airline would be free except with Ryanair! Be prepared to pay extra for your carry on!"
Pros: "The flight was A-okay, but the experience leading up to it was not."
Cons: "First of all, the website is laid out in such a way that it's easy to make unnessasarry additional purchases. We ended up purchasing seats at the very back of the plane. We were unable to print our boarding tickets prior to checking in at the airport and after waiting in line for help, were directed to self help computers that we had to pay-to-use. These were not working and after lining up for help several more times (to get change to pump into the computers etc...) and sending off a 'chat help request we finally left and got a different clerk. While this second clerk was telling us we'd have to pay for her help, someone else overheard our challenges and took over from the clerk, printed our boarding tickets at no further charge and got us on our way. While we certainly appreciate the service at the end, it should never have come to that."
Pros: "They are al so helpful"
Pros: "it got me from A to B."
Cons: "Heavy landing and uncomfortable seat, but I do understand that it's a low cost airline. Emigration at the Berlin airport was unacceptably slow. My 7:20am flight got me to Berlin after 1pm, which is unacceptable."
Pros: "Head steward was very solicitous of my husband who was experiencing first signs of food poisoning. Allowed him to stand at front while passengers were boarding to get fresh air. Checked on him several times during the flight."
Cons: "Overcrowded and no leg room. Knees were up against the back seat of seat in front. There was NO SOAP in any of the three toilets! When I asked attendant the apologized but didn't have any. Gate person pulled us out of boarding line to make us check our bags even though our bags were smaller than most everyone else's carryons. We were the only ones that were checked. Can't help but feel that we were profiled as Americans.traveling."
Pros: "The crew on the actual flight was nice. Also, a kind and patient Ryanair employee helped us with check-in after our awful experience with their customer service desk."
Cons: "The customer service representative at the Dublin airport for Ryanair was extremely rude and was annoyed from the moment we stepped up to the desk. Yes, Ryanair is a budget airline but it costs $0 to be nice and helpful especially if you are working in customer service."
Pros: "Everyone was very nice, and the flight was uneventful. Will fly again and learned lesson about luggage fees."
Cons: "Had two bags to check. Paid for two bags in advance. Didn't know there was a total weight allowance across two bags. First bag ate up most of total weight allowance which forced me to pay for the overage on the second bag of €70. I thought I could bump up my second bag to the higher weight class when checking in instead of having to pay the overage charge that was three times as much. Found out during boarding they were checking bags for free...should have done carry on and avoided the extra costs."
Cons: "Extremely expensive to check your bags. If you prepay and the weight is over, you have to pay an additional 10 Euro for each kilogram over."
Cons: "Gum and candy wrappers stuck in the sides of the seat. Crew spoke poor English. Co-fliers were loud, drunk and unruly."
Cons: "First, I tried to check-in online but their system was down. I outsmarted them because I took several screen shots of different timelines. When I checked-in at their counter, they wanted to charged me €40. The lady wouldnt believe me when I told her that I tried to checkin online for 2 hours but their system was down. That's when I showed her the photo of the screen shot, she called someone on the phone telling him or her of the situation and that I have proof of screenshots. They finally allowed me to check-in with no fee. Second, When I dropped my 3 luggages, they wanted to charge me for my 2 check luggage allowances. I told the lady that I bought online for 3 luggages allowances, but their system only showed that I only bought one. It took several minutes for them to realized that I was right. Third, maybe because of my lack of sleep and tired of travelling for over a month, i left my shoulder bag under the seat of the plane. My fiancee's and my passports as welk.as £500, smart tablet, camera, credit cards, jewelries and other personal belongings were inside my bag. That day was the last day of our 40days vacation. When I got outside of the terminal, that's when I realized that I left my bag on the plane. I went quickly to Ryan air desk but the lady told me that we have to go to the lost item counter and wait for my bag to show up. I waited the whole afternoon at the lost item counter and the lady there told me to just call them and ask if my bag has showed up. When I got to the hotel, I called the airline for rebooking on my flight back to my country. I went back the next day to the airport, but my bag has not showed up at the lost item counter. I was able to get the contact numbers of Ryan air in-charge of this matter. I requested someone to call the person in cbarge, telling him that my bag couldnt be lost because of strict security inside the airport, after a long wait, they finally said they found my bag. I waited 1 hour for Ryan air staff to turn over my bag to the lost item coiunter. When I finally got my bag, there were only £40 left in my bag and a piece of jewelly was missing. I will fly back to my country today and I will file a formal complain with Ryan air as well as write the CEO or President of Ryan air of the way he runs the business. I'm glad I got back our passports but the whole world should know about how Ryan air run their business. PLEASE,.STAY AWAY FROM RYAN AIR."
Pros: "Price - boarding was good, especially considering plane was full."
Cons: "Punctuality - about 40 mins late both ways - I kinda factor that in now!!"
Cons: "The crew had to rush the announcements and introduction because of time restraints, this made it unintelliagable. The safety part was fine"
Pros: "Seating whilst waiting to board"
Cons: "On my flight from Leeds to Dublin the lack of seating whilst waiting to board"
Pros: "Cheap, quick, and safe flight."
Cons: "Because the tickets are so cheap, they try to get money out of you at every turn! They charged us $20 each to print our boarding passes at the airport (it wasn't enough to have them on our phones)! They make you pay to check a bag and you have to arrange it ahead of time (cannot ask to do it at the airport). They made a big fuss about the sizes of our bags and threatened to charge up to $55 per bag if they needed to check them at the gate! They have tiny compartments at the gate but our bags fit without any issues on the plane itself."
Pros: "Good connection and price"
Cons: "Plane was late and we had no information from the staff -- we just all stood waiting for over a half hour past the time to board w/ no explanation until boarding"
Cons: "Extra fees for luggage. Tiny seats w/out reclining"
Pros: "Flight attendants look and act with great professionalism. Boarding line was orderly, which doesn't always occur."
Cons: "I had just flown in on another Ryanair flight where I had stored my roll-on in the overhead bin. For the next leg the gate agent said my bag must fit in the "If it fits your bag flies free" container. It did not fit and he ignored my observation that it had fit in the bin just 30 minutes prior (identical planes Boeing 737 800). He charged me 50 Euros, delayed boarding, but remained courteous throughout. My complaint is that the unequal sizes of overhead bins and size-gauge allows for caprice and introduces tension between customer and agent. He was within his guidelines but many bags were allowed on that would not have fit. So does the company wish to continue a practice that alienates customers and places extra stress on gate agents? I'll never fly Ryanair until they eliminate this shell game."
Pros: "We arrived to our destinations, and so did our bags. Good! And crew were all friendly."
Cons: "But this budget airline feels so in every sense. Boarding is from Tarmac, even coffee or tea costs checked bag, and weight limits are low, boarding is chaotic, no flight entertainment... By the time we paid for all our bags and did the whole dance of moving items from bag to bag to meet limits, we could have probably picked a better airline and had more comfort. They have a policy to charge for musical instruments, and even though there was space, on our return flight we were forced to check it, which we mostly try to avoid for safety of instrument...the way out no issue, the way back we got a stickler. Overall, for single travelers who don't care where you sit and just have a small bag, go for it. Trying to shoehorn a family of four plus instrument led to several up charges and annoying encounters at airport. I'll avoid next time."
Pros: "Leg room, we sat at the exit row"
Cons: "It was never made clear that there would be extra fees with Ryanair by checking in at the airport. We had no Internet connection in Dublin and therefore no opportunity to check in beforehand online, nor see that these fees would be charged: this is entirely unique to this awful airline. Got stuck with a 45€ fee per person. They also claimed that a tiny meal was included, so we ordered paninis, only to be charged 10€ per sandwich. Ridiculous. And they have the gall to claim to be the "low fare airline"--never again will we fly with Ryanair."
Cons: "Lines were ridiculously long and system was down. They claim to be the cheap airline but can't even give us a free carry on. Never again."
Cons: "We checked in online and printed out our boarding passes. They do not post the departure gate till an hour before the flight so we waited in a long line to Get on the plane. When we reached the front of the line they wouldnt take our printed tickets because they didn't have a stamp. (Note) The flight was departing in 15 min. We and about 11 other passengers were turned away for the same reason. We had to get completely out of the airport go through customs, security and check in ALL OVER AGAIN and be charged an extra $150. When we told the airport personnel what was happening they couldn't believe it. We missed the flight and got charged extra! DO NOT FLY WITH THEM! They will look for any reason to take your money!"
Pros: "Crew was great. Professional, funny."
Cons: "Very cramped in the plane. Stood for an hour at the gate, not enough seats. Stood on Tarmac in the rain."
Pros: "For the price, everything went well. We paid a lot for baggage and it had to be under 40 pounds but it all worked out. The flight was almost an hour delayed but the flight itself was fine."
Cons: "We were diverted to a different airport for a reason they said they didn't know. We then sat on a plane for an hour while they figured things out and let people off that wanted to get off. We then switched planes and sat on that plane for another 45 minutes because they missed 3 people who got off the plane earlier so their paperwork was all wrong. I understand that they may not have been all of ryanair's fault, however I feel like they could have handled the situation much better. We ended up getting to Gatwick about 2-2.5 hours late. There were 2 flights that left Dublin after us that got to Gatwick before us. They still never told us what they diverted. However we saw a couple Maintance guys looking under one of the wings the entire time we were there."
Cons: "Your check in process in Dublin is extremely confusing and it's absolutely ridiculous that you charge 45 euros PER PERSON if you need your boarding passes printed. The worst part is that the person who directed us to the line to get the boarding pass could have at the least mentioned we could save the money and check in on line to save the money. We were in the two hour window of time and would have been able to. We were shifted from line to line to line. Very disappointed. Unfortunately having to pay the 90 euro completely ruined the entire flight."
Pros: "We got there."
Cons: "It took over eight tries over 12 hours on two different devises to check-in because the website wasn't working correctly. We thought we had checked two bags on the same messed up website but upon arrival at the airport, were told we would have to pay a higher fee since the bag check didn't go through their crappy website. And to add insult to injury, the "Customer Service" rep was incredibly rude and dismissive. NEVER AGAIN will I fly Ryanair. After telling others in Edinburgh about our experience, they all said the same - fly anybody by Ryanair."
