It was the long delay and standing that was tiring. Then the rushing around to catch the connecting flights was exhausting for everyone I am sure. Airport was crowded. The crew didn't update us on our connecting flights while we were stuck waiting for the bus to take us to the terminal, which caused more anxiety.
Loved check in / food / blanket & entertainmenr on Lufthansa. The seats are old and need a redo. The crew was decent just not warm. The lounge at Frankfurt took over 25 minutes to get in. Something needs to change United connecting flight crew / entertainment / updated seating was great. They could not accommodate my special meal as the only special meal available is kosher. We shd have been informed of that earlier!!
My Lufthansa flight morphed into a United Airlines, which was very confusing, since everything I did on the Lufthansa site was ignored by United.

Cons: "We did not request special meals because in the past there has always been an option without cheese. For both legs of the trip, everything had cheese. They tasted great, but left my husband eating only bread. At the first meal the crew just shrugged their shoulders. Second meal they brought him a snack from business class, but it had cream cheese on the sandwich. Drinks were only served during the meals on an 8 hour flight. When crew came back through at the first meal, they only had two bottles of wine in hand offering top offs (no cart, just physically carrying the bottles). We do not drink alcohol. During the second meal I did not even see them offering the top offs. All other airlines have at least come through a couple of times offering water or soda. Announcements were only audible half the time. Customs forms were confusing for people passing through Canada. This might have been explained over the intercom, but again, it was hard to hear."

Cons: "United charged me a Bagage fee of 25 dollars and they where not supposed to since it was a international flight. The knowledge of the agent was not very good. Now I will have to write to Lufthansa and hoping they will reemburse me."
Cons: "Weather delay caused us (and hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of other travelllers) to miss connections. Lufthansa lost our luggage, and to get rid of us, told us they would send it to the hotel we had to check into on account of the overnight delay. They never delivered the luggage, and other employees later told us over the phone that this was not going to happen. The terminal was filled with tired and frustrated travelers, and to make matters worse, the Lufthansa staff were temperamental and condescending to many. At the peak of the chaos, the Lufthansa staff went out on break, while hundreds waited in line for over 8 hours. We expected more - much more - in one of Lufthansa’s own German domestic hubs."

Along with less leg room than other airlines, it felt like the seat itself was narrower too. The food quality control was disappointing. The meal I had on the first leg of my flight (Mumbai-Munich), I noticed that it expired by about 2 weeks. And the complimentary water bottles also had a past expiration date (although, I don't know how water expires). Generally speaking, I think all of the meals I ate on Lufthansa were subpar compared to the many Asian airlines I've used for overseas flights. Quality could be improved and I think there's a missed opportunity to incorporate meal options correlated to the airline or international destinations (German airline, why not bratwurst? Pretzel bread?)"

I had no clean clothes and had to throw out my contacts because I had no solution. I also couldn’t use the meal voucher they gave me because everywhere in the airport was closed by that time. No stipend was given for toiletries or food delivery. Very unimpressed."

She said “it is confusing”. I did not buy the ticket because it was for an unexpected funeral of my sister. My other sister did so I didn’t see all the stuff from Travelocity. After telling me it would be $50.00 the check in male and female at the gate saw me sitting there for an hour and never told me I couldn’t pay cash. By the time it was boarding time if a nice woman did not offer to use her credit card and I have her the $50 cash I would have missed my flight. The manager at the gate in Portland even told me I would miss my flight. The two check in staff at the gate said “well we didn’t know you only had cash” and they weren’t even concerned that I was going to miss my flight. It would of been nice of them to tell me this when I sat there for an hour after they told me They we’re doubling the price. I would of had time to go back through security, only pay $25.00 and the other nice passenger would have not had to use her credit card. Very rude and poor service especially after a sad occasion of burying your sister!"

Food was barely edible. Paid extra for roomier seats on one leg, making it more comfortable, but were extremely tight on another leg which had many empty seats scattered throughout the cabin. Cabin attendants seemed more interested in pushing items that generated revenue than providing the ones that came with the ticket (which is never cheap to begin with)."
Cons: "Due to mechanical issues our 8am flight kept getting delayed in 30 minute increments until around 9:45 when the front desk attendants told us the necessary part had to be driven from Seattle and wouldn't be available until noon, and that their was no certainty the part would work, and that we should make other arrangements. So we did, but their earliest we could get us into Chicago was 9:30pm (original arrival was 2pm). We booked the arrangements only to find out that our original flight took off at 10:55 and American didn't even attempt to contact us. The cherry on top was that our flight (which was indirect through SFO) got delayed and we're now going to miss our connection in SFO. So currently looking at 10:30pm arrival in Chicago."

The crew were sterling. The flight was fully packed, the chair I was assigned didn't have a screen to watch TV on, and other passengers stood inches away from my face while milling around near the toilets. Also, super narrow seats on row 30 A-C so pretty tight squeeze for a *ahem* larger gent such as myself. That said, flight was on time, food was fine, crew were competent and pleasant.
No issues with British Airways. Avoid Heathrow if you can though.
No gate till 10 minutes to boarding closure, so everyone rushed at the end; airplane was dirty; airplane arrived late ands landed late in Shannon; no food at all even if 200 euro flight ticket

Cons: "The security check at the gate requires one to leave the comfort of the lounge early incase of queues and then wait in an over crowded lounge with the other passengers (so the fact you are business/first or have one world status does little to ease the burden of boarding. The lounge also did not offer red eye passengers a meal and the on board meal service is slow (so if you are hungry it eats into precious sleeping time). The breakfast wakeup was also disappointing. My meal of choice was not available and the whole process was rushed like a fast food restaurant. Overall I am disappointed by the club world offering on this route and would not pay for it again unless intended to get on and just sleep for the entire journey."

Cons: "Having to pay to select your seats is bargain carrier behavior. My family of four had to pay nearly $400 extra to select our seats in advance instead of having them assigned to selecting them the day of the flight. Seats were cramped and not too comfortable. I flew Air France on a previous trip to Europe and it was much more comfortable seating. The in-flight entertainment system kept freezing up and had to be reset multiple times. The touch screen (which is the method of navigation through the system) did not work. On a 5 hour flight that would be an inconvenience - on an 11 hour flight it is a bit more of a problem."

When we reach Montreal there was no ground crew to unload the luggage from plane and no information broadcast to explain why there was a three hour delay for picking up our luggage. There luggage area was jam packed with luggage for the last three days of flights. I understand stand it is a difficult time for flying But there was only one person at the lost or delayed luggage and the line was about 100 deep. It would have helped if there woul be an announcement that the next shift arrived at midnight and the luggage would be delayed by three hours

There were standby people on the flight who got much better seating than I. I seemed to get the last consideration. I am treated much better on other airlines with much less early booking. also later after take of it was made known to me there were empty seats further up in the cabin. When I email Air Canada they said they would get back to me within 30 days about my concerns."

People were sleeping on the floor and some in the aisles, creating a tripping hazard to those wanting to stand and stretch or walk to the restrooms. Those who attempted to sleep in their seat found that the seats were very uncomfortable and had very little to no leg room. When it came time to land at our destination, we ended up having to circle the airport for an additional 35 mins waiting for the terminal to free up. It was a very long 10hr flight that even the nice selection of movies to choose from couldn't help. Terrible flight experience, Canadian Air has really gone down hill."

The other flight crew members made it worse by treating her poorly. You could tell they didn't like her and were agitated by her. Instead if being polite and educating, they were exasperated and impatient. Overall was super disappointed. When landing and I was asleep, flight attendant hit my head to wake me up to adjust my seat to the correct position rather then in a polite way. Also luggage was not with the rest of the planes luggage and on a differnt carousel. I travel often and are use to glitches, but when cleanliness and attitude come into the picture those are things that can be controlled. I wish to no longer travel with United again."

This time they managed to find a little later flight and put me on that but still had to wait at the airports for over 8 hours. Super mad about how United works... Had problems with my boss as well because I was supposed to work the next day but they rescheduled my flight for that day. Really not a pleasant experience..."
