Cons: "First of all I have tons of complaints regarding the airport at Istanbul. They have a poorly managed airport and it was so crowded. The cafeteria and places to eat around in the airport were horrendously expensive and they didn't have services like wifi(had to buy it for $8 an hour and it sucked) and drinking water. As per Turkish airlines, the staff in the airport were poorly equipped to deal with emergency situations such as snow. I was flying during the snowstorm and wasn't expecting my journey to be easy. But they should have increased their resources to help people out in such cases.Their help desk was crowded with almost 500+ of people all the time and they only had 2 people to answer their queries. Also, the staff couldn't understand English properly and seemed irritated when I was trying to explain things in English. I had to stand an hour on a line to get my temporary visa issued only to be referred to another line (yes! i waited for an hour to get to the desk and was told to go and sit in another effing line). It was also because most of the signs/boards in the area were written in Turkish only and I didn't know what they were saying. I had to pay for my own hotel during my transit because the line for the hotels was almost two miles long. And when I arrived at my destination, both my luggage went missing. The crew on board were nice and helping people. I do not blame my bad travel experience entirely on Turkish airlines however, the airport and airlines both are not prepared to deal with situations that are unexpected. I also realize the snow storm was the main factor behind everything however any airlines that boasts itself to be a top class international airlines should have means and resources to manage(at least try) their passengers and airport during any situation. No matter what I am never flying with Turkish airlines again."

Cons: "The food was not up to standard this flight, mostly passable, but our pasta inexplicably tasted chlorinated, as if the noodles had ben boiled in pool water. It's a mild complaint, though. Plane food isn't always sterling. The true problem, unfortunately, was in the form of other passengers. Despite having an excess of available space to stretch out, our seats were surrounded by utterly out-of-control children. Crying babies is understandable, it can't be helped, but if your children are running up and down the aisles [including during the landing], sitting on other passengers [myself in particular], and lying down in the aisle to sleep [and the flight attendant had to ask multiple people whose child that one was because no one wanted to own up, apparently] they have no business being on a plane. I don't even care about the annoyance at this point, their behaviour was inherently unsafe and the parents just didn't care."

Cons: "The level of service by the cabin crew was really disappointing. One of the flight attendants asked me to switch seats with the woman seated next to me (although I had pre-selected my seat). I obliged, although I think that the cabin crew and/or gate agents should have given more thought to giving her a better seat assignment, like a bulkhead seat. This woman was uncommonly large with mobility problems, so it was difficult for me to get up when I wanted to. The entertainment system malfunctioned about an hour into the flight, and I had to flag down a cabin crew member on 3 separate occasions to ask them to look into it. No one ever bothered to follow up or attempt to resolve the problem. To make matters worse, the entertainment system is connected to the entire electrical system, so I couldn't use the "call cabin crew" button, or the overhead light - meaning I was stuck in the dark for HOURS. Only after I demanded to be given another seat did anyone do anything, and with zero apologies."

Mediocre food in First Class, I had better food in Economy.

The check-in boarding counter only had 1 employee, the flight was running 20mins late.

The boarding process was chaotic and haphazard. The unloading of the baggage was slow and frought with issues (frantic small women attendants trying to handle the oversized baggage and having jamming of the baggage belt).

Delayed departure. Made me have to pay more for parking and had to call out of work.

The staff was the highlight. Only thing that could have been better was the temperature on the flight from Hawaii to Seattle. The plane was too cold to get comfortable

Anyone that purchased a Delta 1st Class seat should have access to the Delta Sky Club. My wife and I purchased 1st Class tickets for a Delta flight from SeaTac to Washington Dulles but were denied entrance to the SeaTac Delta Sky Club because we did have an American Express card.

Cons: "I was denied boarding on the Dublin to Munich leg of my connecting flight from Newark to Munich. My ticket was booked through Lufthansa, but the transatlantic leg of my trip was operated by United. When checking in with United in Newark, I received two boarding passes, one for each leg of the trip. I arrived on time in Dublin for my flight to Munich and tried to board the plane for Munich with the boarding pass I had printed in Newark. After scanning my ticket, the Lufthansa employees at the gate informed me that they had no record of me or my plane ticket in their system. I showed them the email confirmation for my ticket, but they still could not find any record of my ticket in their online system. The employees seemed more concerned with boarding all passengers as quickly as possible than assisting me. After being denied boarding, I had to go back through passport control to change my flight, and ended up getting to Munich nearly 6 hours behind schedule and missed an entire day of vacation. A Lufthansa employee told me that out of every partner in the STAR alliance, United is the ONLY airline they have had this problem with. I find this inexcusable, I will be AVOIDING ANY United/Lufthansa connecting flight from now on."

The seating in economy (seats 36A and 36C and an Airbus 330-300) was generous compared to other airlines we've flown recently (e.g., on a 777 with United on the way over, and that was "Economy PLUS!). The food was much better than the United flight, and really, it was almost too much. I'm home 14 hours after landing and I'm still not hungry. They were also very generous with the drinks and worked to keep us well hydrated with water and juices. The crew was very pleasant and accommodating. Overall, it was a great experience and I will certainly look to Lufthansa first for my next transatlantic flight."

For instance, I wasn't aware that the head cushion on the seats were adjustable to better support your head. One last thing, on the entertainment system, it appears to be browser based, but sadly lacks a "Back" button equivalent."

Despite taking off nearly an hour and half late, we were only about 45 minutes late in arriving. What was so great about this flight was that it was NOT full. I had an entire row to myself so I could stretch out and sleep. If I was in a regular coach seat, I would not have been comfortable for the entire trip. The crew was pleasant and helpful."

When we arrived in Keflavik, we were directed to the service counter and they got us on a different flight departing in 5 min. We hurried to through passport control and ran to the gate. We boarded the plane and realized they sat us in first class. What a treat. To our surprise, all of our checked bags made it through as well. Icelandair is officially out new favorite airline!"

Cons: "No meal is served on an international flight. Not even a snack of pretzels etc. I found it a little offensive to not have a complimentary snack or meal for a nighttime international flight."
Cons: "Icelandair changed our scheduled flight’s airplane to a larger airplane to support stranded passengers from other flights. This was a good move for other passengers, but not for us. When they did this, the split my husband and I up by 10 rows! We were booked together on the same booking! We called the airline to fix this, but they refused because we booked through Kayak. We found a very nice counter agent at the airport who was able to move us to the back of the plane together. It is important to note that if you are in the front of the plane, you do not need to preorder food in order to insure that you get the meal you want. We flew Icelandair previously, and it was good experience. Since we did not know about the seat move, we didn’t preorder food for the 6+ hour flight. By the time they got to the back, they were out of nearly everything. We are unsure if Icelandair will be our choice next time we go back to Iceland. We appreciate their work to fix the other’s travel issues, however they missed the little details that could have wowed all of the passengers."

Fortunately, there was an open middle seat next to a young woman and I, but unfortunately, she was messy. She immediately occupied the middle seat with her carry-on's and miscellaneous bags, she took off her boots and her feet smelled, and left all of her wrappers in the chair and foot space between us. I'm surprised no crew member thought to give her a word."

Cons: "1- Boarding was difficult. Embarking in Reykjavik was in gate D3 . We have to walk and climb stairs with our carry on. Once we got to the ramp level we noticed that gate C23 was at same level of the boarding ramp. Why to make elderly people climb stairs with loads? 2- 5 to 6 hours of flight and this cheap airline only offers a little cup of water, coffee, soda or juice (once from Dulles to Reykjavik, twice from Reykjavik to Dulles). Otherwise you have to pay above reasonable price for cold plates. Icelandeair is a Cheap airline not to the level of a nation like Iceland or not to the level 0of any other Latin American, Asian or some of the European airlines that offer a decent snack in flights of 5 or more hours."

When she left I figured out she had given The wrong thing that was 10 euro! What a waste of money! I was also moved from the front of the plane to the back when boarding."

Cons: "Boarding at Reykjavik was not ideal (more of the airport setup at the international gate, as we waited in small area in hall (limited seating) prior to going up stairs and waiting, and no announcement on boarding based on seat number - it was whoever happened to get upstairs first). Boeing 757 aircraft unfortunately doesn't allow putting in standard carry-on luggage straight back (you have to put it sideways, which is a bit annoying with limited luggage space available)."
Pros: "So got a great price on a trip to London. Nice thing is you can tack on days on either side to visit Iceland. So it's like getting two vacations at one time."
Cons: "Look flying isn't fun anymore, plain and simple. The seats are too close together so the rows are tight. This airline is like all the others. Other than that this was fine."

They didn't want to be disturbed. I know this was a discount flight, but I assume the crew are paid for the duration and it does not seem unreasonable to make a second beverage service."

It just makes the whole experience so much easier. And for less than the price of a lot of domestic flights, you can jump on the plane to Iceland. The seats all have touch screen TVs, so there were a bunch of entertainment options. Overall, pretty great."
Cons: "The boarding experience at KEF wasn't ideal. They have a small queue area to line up before boarding, but it only had room for about 1/8th of the passengers. So then it meant that a lot of people were lined up and crowded around the boarding area, which had very few seats. We were then put on a bus and taken to the plane. It all seemed pretty haphazard. Clearly, not a deal-breaker. But not an ideal final memory of the trip either."
Pros: "I really like Iceland air. On many airlines, they Nicole and dome you and you feel like you're being shoved on to a livestock truck and treated like a package . Iceland Air treats like a human."

Cons: "The waiting area in the Reykjavik airport seems to be the main hallway between numerous gates. There is not enough sitting area for passengers waiting for connections, and there was at least one other flight departing from a nearby gate at the same time as ours. This meant many folks had to stand or sit on the floor while waiting for their connection. We could not hear the boarding announcements at all, and it seemed the boarding agents just started letting on the people who were closest to the gate, instead of boarding from the rear of the plane first."

There was so much leg room and the seats were comfortable. Additionally, the food was very good.

I attempted to change my return flight due to a medical emergency but was unable to do so through the call center. I requested a call back from a supervisor but never received it. Finally I booked a completely new return ticket.

The airplane selected for this 8-hour journey was way too small! It was uncomfortable, cramped, and not to the usual standards. A long-haul transatlantic flight needs to have more space and adequate overhead locker space for carry-on baggage. We had to check our small carry-on and they were the very last bags to arrive at baggage claim, 40 minutes after arrival. On two occasions I counted 17+ passengers lining up in the aisle waiting to access the bathroom, as there were only 2 lavatories in the economy area. Staff were clearly frustrated and the crew had to ask passengers to sit down to avoid blocking the aisle... another point why the plane was too small for that travel duration. Turbulence was frequent, again something that is not as obvious on a larger plane. As an Irish citizen living in the US, I'm so disappointed to see the Aer Lingus standard dropping and will be likely looking for other carriers for my frequent tranatlantic travels.

( I do need to add, however, that 5-6 hours into the flight, a passenger two rows back became ill which required that the row be vacated so I ended up with a young woman sitting in the middle seat next to me who announced that she was sick -- and looked that way.)"

I flew to the US many times and this is the first time an airline IT system does not allow to check in for the US destination. The food was very mediocre. My wife was in the back, I was in the front, and my two kids (ages 2 and 4) were split apart in the middle! Aer Lingus won't allow kids to be checked in online or over the phone so we couldn't address this until we arrived at the airport. At the check in desk, Aer Lingus personnel who are usually very accommodating told us "I'm sorry. It's a full flight. You'll have to talk to the flight crew." As if boarding a an international flight with two toddlers isn't difficult enough, now we had to do it without knowing where are seats were. All I can say is thank God for the accommodating passengers on our flight. The flight attendant was not helpful so I had to ask people myself."
