Pros: "It was impossible to breathe throughout the 13-hour flight. It was very hot and humid. Several people asked for the temperature to be adjusted but they never really took care of it. The food was really cheap and stale--quite a disappointment for an expensive flight Tokyo-New York."

Cons: "I could not log in in JAL website using mileage account. They said it has been maintanance mode for a while and could not tell when it would be completed. I tried a month later but the problem was not solved. They foward any problems and inquiries to reservation center but calling the number won't find anyone to talk. Always they put me on hold for hours and never reached anyone. I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

Cons: "How about being stranded at Narita Airport due to bad weather AND not helping your passengers rebook. Told us the flight was cancelled at 10:30pm when suppose to fly out at 7:30pm. No trains or hotels available, only way to rebook was through their phone service? Which didn’t open until 8am. Why not rebook at the ticket desk, guess what? You can’t!"

Cons: "The boarding crew seemed disorganized, the flight boarded 30 mins late and so we were delayed when it came time to taxi and take off. The flight had numerous crying babies on it, it was warm and stuffy once in flight, the crew brought you meals you didn't have a say in ordering and having to sit for an undetermined amount of time with the used tray in front of you really made the modest space even more so. I love JAL but this flight was not one of the better ones for me. Not through any fault of the staff, they are top notch, but certainly this flight ranks as just "okay"."
Pros: "The crew was always super polite and looked very professional and overall just great. The food was delicious, though the portions are small haha. I had my time behind and I was super late to boarding but the crew came looking for me and they were super nice. Definitely recommend them. Miles better than China Airlines and any of the USA based airlines too. The movie selection was pretty good and the seats were roomy and comfortable."

Pros: "Japan Airline is a notch above the rest. The services was constant and consistent, the food was delicious and abundant, and the seats were comfortable. I was surprised at how often they would go up and down the aisles checking on passengers, picking up trash, and serving small food items. To top it off towards the end of the trip they put toothbrushes in the bathroom so you can leave fresh, awesome."

Cons: "Due to weather we had to reroute from JFK to IAD. we waited 3 hours for our bags and then were told to get to NYC we had to pay out of pocket and would be reimbursed later. I was injured and in a wheelchair and this was not only a major inconvenience it was also poorly handled for someone who needed additional help. It was every man for himself. I was very disappointed"
Pros: "The new plane was amazing on my way back from Singapore to Chicago. The staff is extremely courteous. The food was good which included some traditional Korean food options and some western cuisine."
Cons: "On my way from Chicago to Singapore, they had an old plane and the business class was mediocre at best. The seats were uncomfortable. They were stacked side by side and did not have a "personal pod" formation which in my honest opinion is quite a waste of thousands of dollars you paid to travel. Additionally, the entertainment was just okay. There were not too many great options of movies and for the old plane, the screens were really bad."

Cons: "I bought my ticket last minute not realizing that my lay over in Korea was 12 hours I arrived in Korea at 5:30 am, stayed at the airport , slept , walked, ate, sleep patiently waited for my 1930 boarding I finally boarded and was told in their broken English that I am going to be inspected I was thoroughly searched, my pursed was inspected, my body was inspected ,the asked me to open both of my hands and they run a white strips into my palm( I'm a nurse ) and the first thing that entered my mind was they were checking me for drug screen I am very bothered with what happened , Korean airlines makes their passenger have a long lay over and at the end will be thoroughly searched because she stayed in the airport too long How is Korean airlines going to support this insult!!! Having the pillow, blanket and headphones ready in place when boarding was considerate of Korean Air. Of course, no matter what, having to ask people to accommodate the requests to use the lavatory got old really fast (I had a window seat) but it's what had to happen. Overall, for such a long flight, the airline is a pleasant one with which to fly."

Cons: "First, I did an online check-in and was able to secure a seat for the first leg of the flight, but was able to get any information on my second leg. So when I arrived at the Thai Airways counter to load in my bags I asked the Thai Airways representative about the missing information. His response was that he could not get into the ANA system and that I have to go to the ANA counter to ask for that information. Given that my layover in Narita was only about 45mins landing to going to the gate, I was not comfortable with not knowing if I would be on that flight or not. The Thai Airways representation at the boarding counter did help me a bit and got in touch with a guide in Narita to help me get my luggages and get to gate properly. I wanted to note that we did not arrive in Narita on time due to the high air traffic so the plane had to circle around for 15 mins. When we finally landed I had about 15 mins to get through the custom and ran to my gate. When I received my ticket I was shocked that I got a middle seat on a 13 hours flight! If I have known this earlier I would have paid for a better seat, but since I was not able to check-in online and didn't receive any info about this flight prior to boarding I was not allowed to change on this full flight. In addition, the plane ride was awful. The food was disgusting and the seat was very uncomfortable. The seat did not even recline back! I don't expect much from a short distance flight but for a 13 hour long flight, I at least expect the seat to be slightly better than sitting on a rock against a brick wall. All in all, this was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE I went through. The stress and the discomfort on the plane was an experience that no one should ever feel while traveling. It was an awful nightmare on an ANA flight. I would like a refund on this flight with no exceptions. Sincerely, Jessica Saesue"

Cons: "the seat itself is still uncomfortable to put in the extended position to relax. Plus the headrest doesn't move very well so it's hard to get a comfortable head position when trying to sleep. The crew took forever getting everyone on the plane I have no idea why it took so long considering they're worn so many people on the flight. The food wasn't very good except for the marble loaf."

Cons: "WiFi didn’t work on 3 of the 4 flights although all purportedly had it. Also didn’t work the majority of the time in the Business Class Lounge in Singapore. Food was mediocre both on flights and in the lounge. Movie selection could hardly have been worse."

Pros: "It's not the cheapest way to fly but it's a great way to cross the Atlantic. Seats are big enough for 2, really. Lay flat beds make the night crossing east tolerable. You really can get several hours sleep. The cabin crew is outstanding, patient, and extremely responsive to requests. Two meals served were excellent. Entertainment choices were complete. After a number of flights in Economy on other airlines I'm spoiled by Singapore Airlines and also by Business Class. And their fares seemed much less than others for the JFK to FRA route. Had no idea this level of luxury existed on an airplane."
Cons: "My seat assignment was moved without explanation on our return flight, FRA to JFK. That was disappointing. The gate folks were apologetic but no real explanation given."

Cons: "I asked for one of the crew to help me bring up my carry-on luggage, as i'm just recovering from a flu at that time. Instead the FA looked at my bag and asked me in an irritated tone if my bag was really that heavy? I said I was recovering and I just need an extra push once I lift it up into the cabin. In the end she did help but i did not appreciate her attitude and felt disappointed my whole flight."

Cons: "We purchased premium economy tickets but could not select our seats. We were assigned separated seats and had to call Eva Air customer service but they would not help. When we arrived at the check in counter our seats had been relocated and were able to sit together. Kind of upsetting having this hanging over our heads until the last moment."
Pros: "The economy cabin had less oxygen than the premium economy and better. I could not breath with the poor air circulation and had to stand in the front of the 14 hour flight to breath."

Pros: "The in-flight entertainment options were rather sparse (compared to other airlines I've flown in the past e.g. Singapore Airlines/Qatar/Emirates). However, everything else was pretty good. The bathrooms were maintained throughout the flight and I appreciated the water bottle so I wouldn't have to keep waiting for the little trays of drinks to come around."
Cons: "Rude customer service. Hard to understand English. unhelpful staff. Flight was delayed an hour and a half and during the entire time waiting in the lounge, the staff did not notify passengers about the delay until the new boarding time. Updates along the way would have been appreciated."

I was very disappointed that I was forced to check a carryon due to weight limits when it was under the size requirement. The weight limit doesn't make sense if it was going on the same plane anyway for free. 4. It is utterly ridiculous not to give full mileage for economy tickets anymore. Out of all the programs to cut, the loyalty program? Really? 5. Flight attendants were not particularly friendly."

Pros: "The crew was fantastic. I was not well throughout the entire flight and they went out of their way repeatedly to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, including giving up two of their own crew seats to me for most of the 14 hour flight from Taipei to New York. The crew also made sure that the bathrooms were kept stocked and cleaned. This is something you don't see enough of in other airlines where the bathrooms become disgusting by around mid-flight on long-haul flights. The entertainment systems are modern and designed well for practical use, unlike some other airlines that still have many or all controls situated on the armrests. They use quality touchscreens which control everything including the overhead light and attendant call button. I also like the fact that I could check 2 bags and select my seat without any fees unlike too many other airlines are doing today."
Cons: "While the entertainment systems themselves are great the entertainment choices are not. They have very few New Releases and don't seem to update them at the beginning of the month compared to many other airlines, such as Cathay Pacific. On long flights this is one thing that should be given more attention."

But then again, all they said was "you need to wait" in Chinese also so maybe they are just not polite in general) They could have had better movie selections Both flights were delayed"

Cons: "The food is just ok. Compared to Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific, their food is less exciting. Very stingy with wine (half of a mini plastic cup and takes another round before refill). Those who are on carb free diet should make a special request prior to travel as their food is very heavy on carb and light on protein."
