Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Need to reduce waiting hours at gate"
Pros: "Crew were friendly"
Cons: "Chose priority boarding, waste of time so did everyone else. Long queues to board."
Pros: "Crew were good. Boarding seemed to be good. When we eventually got going the flight was good and very quick (35mins)"
Cons: "We sat on the plane for 1 hour without moving anywhere as there was a discrepancy with the numbers they thought they had and the list (or something). When we were cleared for take off we then had to get in a massive queue before we could leave."
Cons: "I did not take the flight. I could not get my money back."
Pros: "Flight was cheap, boarding was quick and the whole experience was about that of your average Ryanair flight! Got a chance to speak to the captain of the flight in the cockpit after landing, had a quick chat about the aircraft as well as my own PPL lessons which start next Sunday."
Cons: "You're flying cross-continent for the same price as a bus fare, there ain't much wrong with Ryanair!"
Pros: "Pilot gave us a nice smooth flight even though there was a storm, brilliant take off and landing!"
Cons: "It was terrible that hand luggage had to be paid for"
Cons: "Extra costs involved at every step. Being herded together for boarding and being made to stand for what seemed like a very long time."
Cons: "Stood in one line for over a half hour to find out I was in the wrong line and had to go to another line. Why not have someone asking or a few signs to direct people? Kiwi was horrible to deal with. I booked a priority flight but they only gave me non-priority but changed their documentation to look like it was priority. Went back and forth too manny times."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for over two hours, but there was no reason given and we were left waiting with no idea what was going on."
Pros: "This flight issues were so plentiful they provided me with knowledge on how not to run an airline."
Cons: "5 X delays, Incompetent pilot, No organisation of ground crew 2.5hr late"
Cons: "Chaos in boarding, no complemtery water, tight seating, delayed departure"
Pros: "Crew members were welcoming, friendly and efficient."
Cons: "Stood st the gate 30 minutes and then they changed the gate. Went to the new gate, stood in line again and they changed the gate AGAIN. Walked to the new gate and stood in line about another 30 minutes then once checked in and walked down the jetway, we were stopped again and had to wait!! Then we were delayed on the jetway waiting to load bags and once we started going, there were several planes ahead of us so we sat on the tarmac and waited some more. Flight arrived in Dublin more than 2 hours late!"
Pros: "Got home."
Cons: "They managed to mangle the queuing in the terminal, getting everybody on theit feet and I need the queue 20 minutes before boarding started and then have us standing in a queue on the stairs for ten minutes. The flight was delayed an hour or so, and pass Nebraska then asked to take their seats quickly as if they had caused the delay. The crew were tired but polite. Standard Ryanair fight, really, run for the airline’s convenience rather than the passengers’ comfort."
Pros: "The staff did the best they could with what they had I think"
Cons: "The boarding was chaotic and slow. The flight was delayed. Never a fan of having to pay for even just water (especially after an hour on the tarmac waiting to take off)"
Cons: "When check in took place we were kept in a dark, cold, wet & windy covered area for about 10/15 minutes before being allowed to board the plane. This is really unacceptable in this day & age."
Cons: "Gates announced too late"
Cons: "Notification of flight cancellation even though the flight departed on twitter. Flight should have been cancelled as no transport links to Dublin Airport due to adverse weather."
Cons: "Delayed take off 20 minutes late from Cork, now at STN, we stuck on the plane because the ladder and stairs to get off the plane are not ready?????? Do we blame Ryanair???? Second time I have had this excuse while flying with them!!!! Maybe this is what you get when you fly with an airline who cut corners and costs?????"
Pros: "Boarded from gate beside the executive lounge."
Cons: "Ground staff made final boarding call too soon. Had to rush from the lounge only to find no passengers had left the terminal steps to walk to the plane to board."
Cons: "They could have had some kind of entertainment but the price was cheap."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for 1 hour"
Cons: "all the extra charges... late take off not being able to get the seat desired general nervousness due to low level of confidence in the company"
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Baggage fees were outrageous, way past industry standards I've seen elsewhere."
Pros: "The flights are good value and relatively comfortable."
Cons: "Due to mass cancellations we had days worrying if we were able to go on holiday our holiday or get the return flight home. They got the planes at the wrong gates so our flights were delayed for and hour, a passenger being sick very close to us was not moved away into a quieter area of the plane. Our luggage was damaged when we picked it up."
Pros: "I showed up at the airport I checked in I got in line I boarded I flew to my destination I got off I left in a rental car all without a single issue. I flew from Edinburgh to Dublin in one hour for 25 dollars. I have had more things go wrong ordering pizzas from Dominos for delivery that cost more"
Cons: "I did not buy any food or drink so I can't comment I did not have to check or pay bag fees because I followed directions so I can't comment I knew exactly what 25 dollars gets me so the fact it had 2 wings and working engines and competent pilots was a pure bonus Ryan Air you have a fan"
Cons: "No drink and snacks"
Pros: "Flight was good."
Cons: "Boarding area was completely full with no where to sit because there wasn't enough seats for the amount of people."
Cons: "An obnoxious hen party disrupted our enjoyment of the flight. Cabin crew didn't try to control them"
Pros: "Counter agent was excellent, friendly and professional, she even helped us get our carry-on properly assigned to go on the plane when the Nazi-like fellow, Ali, at the terminal insisted that unless it fit in that grossly undersized test frame the airlines like to use, we would have to pay an additional 35€, to get it checked. Our lovely counter agent came to our aid and spoke sense to Ali with a verbal slap about the head-free entertainment-, helping to put some semblance of joy into the experience that is flying Ryanair. If I have a choice, Ryanair would never be it. Crew was lovely allowing my wife and I to sit together after not being able to do so online without more stupid fees."
Cons: "See diatribe above. If you can discern what to do better from above, excellent, if not, it matters not as I will make it my personal mission to inform all and sundry about the horrors of Ryanair travel. Your airline makes Sleazy Jet seem like top shelf."
Cons: "I check in my flight from my phone and add extra luggage ( more $$$ on top what we already pay from our flight ) and I get the confirmation. The day we flew back and the check in station in the airport they didn't find out online check in but they knew we add extra luggage. The ladies that helped us was rude and disrespectful. Waited customer service ever. I'm the end we had to pay $60 each to get in our flight. It was a ripped off. I'll never fly we them again."
Pros: "The Athens airport gave us meal vouchers (not Ryanair)"
Cons: "The flight left 4 hours late with no explanations."
Pros: "Nothing. Utterly horrible experience."
Cons: "I checked in two days in advance, had to pay for the check-in and baggage fee. There was no link sent to me to print out my boarding pass When we got to Stansted, there were no working kiosks. We went to the check-in desk, where apparently many people were having the same problem we were. My wife and I were told by a very rude Ryanair employee we hadn't checked in. I showed the woman my email receipt and she refused to honor it. We are challenging the charge on our credit card. She lectured us on showing up to the airport two hours in advance. We told her we had, but had been in line for 50 minutes. My wife paid 50 pounds each to check us in, even then the security set up was... labyrinthine. And mind you, I say that knowing full well how long an airport security line can be. When we got to the point where we were supposed to hand our boarding passes over to be scanned and verified, mine wouldn't work. I waited there while the security officer called the desk we'd just come from to verify I was allowed to fly. Mind you, we were being told the gate was about to close, so time was precious. After getting through that and security, we encountered another problem. If you don't know, Stansted airport is actually a mall with an airport somewhere inside. We ran through a long, snaking corridor of shops, following signs saying "all gates." It was an absurdly long run. I don't think I've seen any other airport laid out so poorly, most have shops mixed in with gates, but not Stansted. The gates are all at the end of this silly commercial strip. But not really, you see... when we got to the end, there were no gates, but trams to another terminal. We boarded the tram, got to our terminal and ran even faster to make our flight. Luckily, Ryanair is so disgustingly disorganized that the flight was delayed. Amazingly that which caused us so much stress ended up saving us. I will never fly on this pathetic, god-forsaken airline again. It is a scam designed to filch people who are in a desperate position out of money. Also, I would advise anyone to stay away from Stansted airport. Seriously, I've flown extensively in the Americas and have encountered some pretty chaotic facilities, but Stansted was utterly soviet in its disorganization. I'd rather wait for a bus at New York City's Port Authority bus station, navigating vomiting hobos, than deal with Ryanair, or Stansted airport, ever again."
Cons: "U have to print boarding pass 2 hours before I did t See this written anywhere . Also they close the gate 30 minutes before and it takes 30 minotes to get to the gate Very difficult process so fate was closed and I had to pay 60 eu for luggage which was never clear anywhere and I had to check-in 3 hours before you have to check in before u can print the boarding pass so I was looking for a boarding pass but could t get it since I didn't know I had to check In???????? Mo5hi g explained anywhere!"
Pros: "Loved the new plane and good crew, though we could not understand the announcer's English! Wild! They were nice enough, but the announcements were unintelligible. Not good in an emergency situation."
Cons: "As above the poor English from main flight attendant (purser?)"
Pros: "Quick flight."
Cons: "Would like people boarded according to their seats. Putting the carry on baggage away is disruptive to steady flow of taking seats. So if front and back doors board call in middle 10 rows first."
Pros: "Actual flight was fine once we took off."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours. Clearing border control prior to lining up at gate is chaotic."
Pros: "I needed to be in London early as I had a connecting flight and Ryanair got me there on time"
Cons: "Standsted security not opening the door to the terminal when we arrived by bus from the plane."
Pros: "Priority boarding and friendly courteous staff"
Cons: "Lack of complimentary refreshment. Xould offer free cup aof tea and coffee without destroying profits. Giving a cup of tea might well encourage the passenger to buy food to accompany it"
Pros: "got to Rome 5 hours late"
Cons: "This flight was about the 5th leg of our European trip. I attempted several times to complete the early check in on the website so that we would save the fee of checking in later at the airport but I was unable to. We left our hotel 4 hours prior to the flight departure because the metro ride was 1 hour to the Barcelona airport. Next, we waited in line at the airport and were then told to go wait in another line and pay 50 euros each for the airport check-in. Then, our flight was delayed so we got to spend a whole day of our vacation in the Barcelona airport! What a waste of valuable time for us. Next tour of Europe I will gladly spend up to $400 more for a reliable flight on a different airlines. Time is more valuable, especially vacation time!"
Pros: "The crew was very good."
Cons: "No entrainment at all very boring."
Pros: "Fast and efficient."
Cons: "Expensive poor coffee."
Cons: "I tried to check in on line but because of their website was unable to. So we were charged 45 euro each for a boarding pass. That is unacceptable. I would not recommend this airline."
Cons: "Everything! Unorganized, customer service was horrible, so many extra fees, lost luggage along with our friends that lost there luggage. No, direction on where to go for checking in."
Pros: "smooth check in, comfortable seats and leg room"
Cons: "forced to hand in cabin bag just before allowed on aircraft. i was travelling with children and this had our food, activities etc. this would not have been so bad had i been given a carrier bag to pur some item in....i was not, andhad to stuff my valuables and a limited amount of food and activties into a torn, dirty carrier bag i found. complaints to ryanair online led to a standard reply that only the first 90 cabin bags go on board. i was not aware of this before i traveeled and would have come more prepared had i known....which i did do on my return trip. this time i was allowed to check in 3 out of my 6 hand luggage but not the other three (we were 6 people travelling) even though i was all prepared to check them in and had not checked that i did not have sharp items and liquid in them. therefore, becasue i was not allowed to chekc them in, i had these items confiscated when i went through security, losing a valuable pair of hairdressing scissors. i wish Ryanair would be more consistent with their polices (i was only allowed to check in three bags becasue i had only paid for 3 suitcases)....but then was forced to chekc the other three in right before entering the aircraft!!! cheap does not need to be unfair!"
Pros: "nothing really. the price was ok."
Cons: "the service, the seating, all the added fees"
Cons: "I flew from Cork Ireland to PMI and unfortunately a large group of young adults boarded as well. They were drunk, obnoxious, adding around a bottle of alcohol singing loud songs over the announcements. The crew did not control them properly and even had to call the police upon landing. Poorly handled situation that made the rest of the passengers suffer through the appalling behavior."
Cons: "We did not like the surprise 45 Euro per person fee for not having a boarding pass printed. That was not readily available in our instructions. We were at a place without a printer and thought we should just print at the airport. We did not like the incredibly close seats to the row in front. It will have to be a dire day for me to fly Ryan Air again. I would prefer most other methods of travel, certainly another airline. The air crew was also a rude when bumping me each time the cart rolled by without apology."
