The Emirates plane was less than standard in economy class and we weren’t even offered water for the entire time we waited. The customer service was terrible and we weren’t even able to retrieve our carry on bags that we were forced to check (not due to the size). This was by far the worst first time experience I’ve had and will not be flying Emirates again."

Generally, they have on-board WiFi Internet, however for my return route of 21 hours both flights had no wifi which was disappointing. This is unprofessional because if you are planning on having WiFi to respond to work emails and it is not available once you are already in the air there is nothing you could do but get stuck. Never does this happen with Lufthansa, Turkish, Etihad. Disappointing."

Cons: "I had one piece of hand carried bag from when I boarded on the DC to Dubai leg. On this Dubai to Manila leg I was shocked to discover that the ground crew wanted all hand carried items weighed, and I mean ALL including things like travel pillows and duty free items. I was made to pay $88 for excess weight on the exact same bag I had with me on the first leg. Worse, the (I'm guessing) head of the ground crew gave random exceptions (for example someone had a thick copy of the Koran and some other item that were not weighed). My excess weight probably weighed less than that book. Many passengers ended up returning purchased duty free items and some even abandoned their bags. Upon getting past the initial gate the passengers were ferried by BUS to the plane. The bus ride took forever and of course, in the heat of the Dubai sun, the passengers were made to climb stairs carrying their "overweight" bags to board the plain."

Food tray is smaller and more compact than before, turns Dinner into a game of Tetris (although, not a fun 'game'). Flights aboard A380 are much more comfortable than in Boeing 777."

Cons: "The food was disgusting, I chose to have gluten free, the breakfast was the worse food I have ever eaten, the eggs were like rubber to eat, the fish was the same and the chips were grey and soggy with saturated stale oil, the bread roll was stale, as a result I didn't eat the breakfast and the main meal wasn't much better, I feel if the food was much more simple , fresh , and the fruit ripe instead of green , the meal would have been more appealing ."

They passed me when serving the food just because the aisle seat passenger next to me was served his special meal earlier, so they did not notice that the passenger at the window seat (which was me) had no tray in front of him when running the regular meal service. Isn't this sloppy !? Problem is that once they passed you, it's hard to get their attention, as they are always in a hurry, and not looking over the cabin just to check if someone needs something or wants to call on them for any reason, and there are no attendant calling buttons available. So you have to wait until they come by your seat again. Finally I got my meal with apologies 15 minutes later, but the experience was already ruined and the negative impression built.. Also, when departing from Taipei, the boarding process was a bit disorganized, compared with the one we had in Vancouver. As for as the entertainment, the LCD monitor at my seat was pretty worn out, with very poor contrast, making it difficult to watch a movie or read information. Same airline with two opposing experiences: Vancouver-to-Taipei very good, Taipei-to-Manila: poor."

My brother and I got to the Airport 45 mins before the Check In Counter Closed but we didn't make it Thedue to the fact that we had a flat tire unexpectedly so my flight was cancelled and rescheduled to January 10, 2018 and paid extra $480.00 including penalty. If the Check in Counter did not close early, I could still be able to check in on time while there was still 45 mins remaining."

The crew should have kept us better informed with the updated delays. They didn't pass out a single snack the entire 4 hour delay, and gave us one cup of water each, terrible experience"

Had a technical malfunction twice which caused me to miss my 7am connecting flight by 2 mins. The next plane didn't even bother to wear for 2 mins even if they caused the delay. They gave a 250NT lunch voucher and asked to what til the next flight in the afternoon. That was the longest flight I experienced coming from New York."

It was so spectacular that I didn't want to leave it. I found a small movie theatre equipped with leather oversized recliners and slept. I was told that the 2 story lounge is 6000 square meters."

I will never fly Turkish again"

I spent hours of the last day of our vacation trying to figure out what was wrong, then searching for a rebooking a new flight. It cost us more than $1000 USD extra, just to get home. We did not know the gate number until one hour before departure, because there were only 3 monitors in the area that we sat in and there are so many flights, so the flight did not appear on those monitors. Only the one main monitor in in the center of the airport is large enough and there are not seats in that area."

Cons: "Wish services in Istanbul airport was better. Had to take a bus to the terminal and transfer directions and gate services was confusing and not very good. But this is not the airlines fault."

Pros: "On the 15th. Nov during my flight to India, I have made an online check in though did not receive an e ticket. I arrived the airport 70 min before the flight. The crew on the check in counter refused to issue me a ticket and insisted that I have missed my plane abd I need to purchase a new ticket. They even refused to check if I have made an online chick in. The gulf air online system, did not show me that I have made an online checkin. Unfortunately, the problem was solved by asking someone who work in the airport ( not gulf airlines representative) to check if I have made and online check in and to issue me a ticket to pass through the security control"

For some bizarre reason, we had to exit the boarding area (we had arrived very early), and then re-enter at the end of a VERY long line, then dispose of the water we had bought AFTER we had already gone through one set of security checks, to have another bag search inside the boarding area. (???) For a 14 hour flight, you might expect a bit more in the line of amenities (like the Singapore Airlines pamper kit). It’s also nice to know on a long haul what you might be eating (a la Singapore Airlines menu card), but not on Etihad. Also the movies on offer through the entertainment system were a bit stale and dated. They also had no arrivals cards in English, and finding them at Sydney Airport is a nightmare. (Why do we still do the stupid things, anyway?) Then, to top it all off, after a tiring flight, Sydney Airport put on their best demonstration of appalling and confusing crowd control at the baggage carousels and getting through customs. Used to think Etihad was a quality experience, but it doesn’t seem so any more."

Nobody from the ground staff even asked them to give way for those who are boarding first or announced what zone are they boarding next. Also, i used the mobile app to check in, i am definitely sure i chose an isle seat (you can see it on the seat map during online check in) but i was surprised to see that i got a window seat."

As a result, I was stranded in Abu Dhabi for 12 hours. In fairness it's not the airlines fault and they did provide a hotel and shuttle bus for my short stay. What added to the frustration was the fact that they waited for the shuttle bus to be completely full (with people sitting in aisles) before taking us to the hotel. We got there too late for dinner, since all that waiting around resulted in a two hour trip for what should have taken 20 minutes. Since we had to leave so early in the AM, we didn't get breakfast either."
