Boarding was delayed for no reason. Bags took (no exaggeration) about 1.5 hours to come. And it is a hot mess with no carts"

Cons: "Agents at check-in desk took longer time to process passengers, even though some desks had two people helping. The web check-in line moved slower than the line with passengers who had not done online check-in. When I booked my flight via kayak, I was not given an option to select seats (this was new) . I was able to indicate my seat preference but there was no followup. When I checked in online 24 hours before my flight, the only option for seats was in the middle, which I did not want, although I I knew the flight would not be full. I was able to change seats when I checked in with the agent in the airport ."

Cons: "One food option.. VEGETARIAN.. when asked the crew member as to why vegetarian only.. she said not sure, but may be because most of the passengers were vegetarians.. REALLY????? Also no ice with drinks.. because they didn’t have ice!!!! But apart from this, it was another quality Etihad flight. Just didn’t expect the above inconveniences from Etihad! This is the first time I experience this with them."

Cons: "1 hour delay to begin with. Then trasfer area at Abu Dhabi was utter chaos. While it's suffocatingly crowded, there was no A.C! No vegetarian option for meal on the flight from Brussels to Abu Dhabi. The seats hurt by bottom. One of the worst flight seats ever. All in all, a totally underwhelming experience."

Pros: "My seat had a problem initially it was not reclining once they fixed that later the seat got deflated. It became unbearable to seat. The crew tried fixing it for about 30 mins and they then they changed my seat. Ideally I would want refund for the flight as my experience was extremely bad"

Cons: "On line flight status. Since the flight arrived earlier (11:50 PM instead of 12:15 AM the next day) from Chennai to Abu Dhabi, earlier time was entered. But since the date was not changed, it showed a delay of about 11 hours."

Cons: "The upkeep of the airline, some of the airline staff to treat all passengers as one as I noticed more than an unusual amount of passengers were favoured over one another. A minimum flight of 5 hours was served with just the one meal. We were served lunch at 930 am on one flight. The observations in economy aren't as important as business class. Only if we could all afford to travel on business class."

Cons: "While going Airport staff was not at all good at Chicago airport. I had a carry on bag, which I had been using in all other airlines as carry on for last couple of years and never was told that the size is not right. I was asked to either check in carry on as extra baggage and pay $300 or put my carry on stuff in my other checked in baggage and pay extra for over limit $120. And I have to trash my carry on of $80 value. I was not at all happy. I noticed in the flight so many passengers have the same size carry on, which I have to trash. On my return journey from Delhi to Abu Dhabi I was talking to a woman in the security line, who was sharing the same experience and she told me that they charge her $400 for one extra suitcase. To me that was shocking as how come I was asked $300 for extra checked in bag and she was charged $400. No idea what kind of policies Etihad has for extra baggage. I would like Etihad management to pay attention to the airport staff dealings with customers."

Difficult to adjust seats in the last minute. I was separated from my family. Given wrong information about seats. Had to real work with staff to finally get seats adjusted. Not very easy to work staff. Understanding of English is not that good. 2.Had problems checking the luggage all through despite connection was through star alliance. 3.Had to wait in airport in transit to get boarding passes. Did not understand why it was despite having booked seats early. 4.Seats provided were not good. 5.Also head phones didn't work. I told staff three times and still no response. Finally gave up i had booked because ratings were good. But service was not even close to expectations. Dissapointed."

Pros: "Stunning level of service. It feels like what U.S. Airlines were like when you traveled in the 1950's-60's. They pamper you and really seem to care about your flight experience. Food was excellent. I will try my best to only fly this airline from now on for overseas flights."
Cons: "Not much to say about what I didn't like. My only negative experience was waiting almost an hour for baggage upon return in Toronto. I almost missed my shuttle back to home . Entire luggage experience was very disorganized and pathetic, I blame that on AerLingus, which is owned by Etihad."
Pros: "Very professional and accommodating crew on board. The Abu Dhabi lounge was large and looked very beautiful with it's appointments, but it was also packed with people (late time of day, I know), noisy with men pacing around shouting on their cell phone headsets, and I wasn't aware of the many services they had like the spa, no one informed me when I checked in. I understand this airport has a lot of business and first class travelers from all countries, but they need to better organize the lounge into designated "quiet areas" for people like me where cell phone use isn't permitted, family areas, where the kids can run around screaming unimpeded like they were, and also direct newcomers into areas where there are less passengers so you can find a place to sit & grab food without wandering around this cavernous place looking for a place of respite"
Cons: "The experience of transferring through the Abu Dhabi airport was a little hellish--very hot (I know it's the ME in summer), long lines, I was patted down in a cabin by a security office because of the underwires in my bra, which I was cool with, but my carry on luggage was kept outside the cabin area with my passport and money with people swarming through in lines. Not cool. I've probably never had an international transport experience like this, outside of Cuba where they pulled me aside and interrogated me by agents even though I had a visa and had documentation I was presenting at an education conference at the government state hotel, (and I'm Panamanian American, I speak Spanish, maybe that's why they though I was a scientist/spy). This airport definitely needs more basic staff and better organization. But I'd have to say this wasn't any worse-- other than the heat--- of any US or European transfer experience I've had in the last 10 years. Lounge staff in Abu Dhabi were kind of jerks compared to other airports, they were very stand offish (like they couldn't be bothered to help you, or maybe it was my Canadian/American accent)."
