I would definitely recommend JAL to others."

Cons: "Our flight was delayed for two hours. We have a connecting flight from Osaka to Los Angeles, which we were worried we couldn't make it. They told me the flight will wait for us because there were 20 plus people also need to get on that plane. When the time of boarding we heard they were calling us to the front and explained the flight we were suppose to be connecting already took off. They had to booked us to another airline. We were extremely disappointed! We asked if we could took another Japanese airline but they said our luggages were already transferred to that airline and the tickets were printed! Mosf importantly we have already waited in airport 5 hours and they needed us to wait for another 3 hours! Very bad experience with how they dealing with this situation!"

Cons: "Checking in with Japan Airlines was a serious hassle. I had my e-ticket but they kept asking me if I had already paid. The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency."
Pros: "The stewardess of the flight from LA to Osaka was awesome , I don't remember her exactly name , I think she is older then other crew members working that day on economy class . She was very professional , serving customer with the best she can. Always smiles. I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

Pros: "I feel like I got way more than what I paid for with this airline! The hostesses were super friendly always offering some sort of beverage, the food was tasty (Be careful not to drop noodles on yourself like I did, those bad boys left a little mark). The video selection wasn't huge, but it was definitely adequate with good titles. Maybe I haven't noticed this before in other airlines, but they had new toothbrushes (packaged, not someone's forgotten toothbrush) in the restroom so the poor sap next to me didn't have to smell my stinky breath. Finally, they were quick with boarding! They were very punctual and we took off right when we got on, so nice!"
Cons: "The seats were pretty adequately sized, however, I felt like I couldn't lay back too far or if the the person in front of me did, it made it really difficult to get the seats. Also, I thought it was my headphones, but it happened on a couple of flights with different headphones, but the audio only comes out of one earphone which was slightly annoying... Other than those things, JAL is super solid and I would recommend it to anyone considering them."

Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Cons: "I didn't like that the crew at check-in and the crew on the plane told me different things. The crew at check-in told me I could keep my purse with me, and the crew on the airline told me I had to put it overhead. Please be consistent! Flying is very stressful for me, and I want the staff to make it as stress-free as possible. As for boarding, I wasn't allowed into the gate until an hour before. What really bothered me was that they had already let some people into the gate and shut some other people out. Either let people in or don't. Don't follow the rules halfway because then they won't mean anything. I was very shocked by this and have never experienced this at any airline before. All I wanted to do was sit down and relax at the gate before boarding. If this ever happened to me again, I would not fly with the same airlines. To think that this was a JAL flight, with such a high reputation of customer service, makes me even more wary of booking a flight with JAL. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, and I will not tolerate it if it happens again."

Nothing can the counter do till i've to call kayak/flight network. One hour conversation from malaysia to canada. What a wast & replace me with air china. Stupid kayak & flight network."

Yeah my flight was delay by 3 hours for reasons out of their control and I missed my connecting flight but they completely made up for it. The food and drinks were really good along with the service. Plus they booked me on another flight along with a hotel for the night. Awesome service and experience, I would travel with them again."

Cons: "...the boarding, which was somewhat chaotic. An announcement was repeatedly made that the final boarding call for the flight had been issued, and suddenly the entire assembly of passengers waiting before the gate stood up en masse and moved toward the gate, where we ended up standing for twenty or so minutes while the passengers were boarded in sequence according to seat assignment. I'm certain that Emirates has a protocol for gate announcements, but one of their employees certainly didn't know what it was."

Power at every seat to charge devices a great list of movies shows etc... food was great tasting and good portion. I enjoyed this flight more than american, delta or any of the big name companies. They should strive to be this good."

Cons: "The plane was old. The movies were played in the aisle and the selection was inappropriate/terrible. No kids on the flight and they played a Disney dinosaur movie and the Peanuts movie."
Pros: "Friendly crew. Finnair subcontract to British Airways so this was a BA flight at a better price. Flight was far from full enabling me to stretch out."
Cons: "Unable to pre select seats because the arrangement makes you neither a full BA or Finnair customer. Food was just about edible and that was the better non vegetable option. The plane was old and the in in seat screens were old too, with poor resolution (no touch screen to illustrate the aging technology). Although the entertainment selection was relatively current the aging connection in the arm rest, coupled with cheap ear buds made for a poor listening experience."
Pros: "For the first time ever I had a flight on British Airways where I did not feel like I wanted to choke somebody at the end of the flight - so I was pleasantly surprised at this particular BA flight."
Cons: "BA gates in NYC are abysmal - the entire terminal is... Why are the restaurants advertising being open to some specific time (well prior to the departure of this flight) yet then have staff holler at you that they are closed when you try to go in well before that time. It would have been very nice to have been able to sit down and have some dinner prior to the flight, but the rudeness of both of the two restaurants and their staff was worthy of the notoriety of NYC attitudes (which I don't generally see in mainstream NYC society)."
Pros: "I was not well and at the check in the lady was kind to change my seat ..."
Cons: "I order a special meal ....no meal for me on the plan ."
Cons: "Hi -- the flight was fine. A bit of turbulence and rocky but it was raining so it's understandable. The crew was nice, professional. The plan was actually delayed 1.5 hours. They sent a text message at 7:15 apparently but my phone was not on so I understand not receiving it. I also left for the airport around 7:15. I also received an email from Kayak at 7 am that said there was no delay so I didn't check to see if there would be any others. I never received an email from Kayak about the delay. I would just suggest making sure all the alerts I get are correct. I also receieved an email to check in 72 hours before the flight but it wouldn't let me on Finnair.com Maybe I was supposed to go to Open Skies. Thanks! Melodie"
Pros: "I made it home safe"
Cons: "Little legroom for such a long flight. Too crowded."
Cons: "Entertainment system is very old, but have a good selection."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable with plenty of room."
Cons: "Plane was broken and we had to wait 3 1/2 hours to get a new plane. Crew kept awkwardly mentioning during every announcement that the delay wasn't their fault... My husband's entertainment screen was broken and flickering so much that all shows/films were completely unwatchable. My screen began flickering 1/2way through a film."
Pros: "On time arrival."
Cons: "FinnAir Entertainment selection was not as good as British Airways."
Pros: "on time, rather efficient process, cabin crew"
Cons: "not much room in economy, ipads are not ideal"
Pros: "Very friendly and helpful cabin crew. Excellent boarding procedures. The food wasn't awful. Everyone seemed relaxed and upbeat...maybe because the holidays are approaching."
Cons: "The rolls were ice cold, and the butter was not real butter. My husband found the seats cramped, and little foot room. I'm 5'2" and they were ok for me. The child behind me screamed and then projectile vomited for the last half hour of the flight, which can't be laid at BS's door. Many people were still on their cell phones and laptops during the whole takeoff, despite multiple announcements. I would have kicked them off."
Pros: "Flight was on time. Staff were very friendly. The whole process was easy."
