How to Get to Sorrento
Plane
Although Sorrento doesn’t have its own airport, you can fly to Naples Airport (NAP), which is located 30 km from Sorrento. The shortest flight to Sorrento from Ireland departs from Dublin and takes around 3h 25m.
Train
Trenitalia is the most popular train carrier serving Sorrento, followed by Italotreno. The train journey from Sorrento to Salerno takes 0h 24m and costs around €18 for a one-way ticket. When coming by train from Milan, expect to pay about €10 for a 0h 26m trip. The train station in Sorrento is called Sorrento Mare, and is located 0.1 km from the city centre.
Car
Another option to get to Sorrento is to pick up a car hire from Naples, which is about 26 km from Sorrento. You’ll find branches of SURPRICE CAR RENTAL and Galierirent, among others, in Naples.
Bus
Several bus lines operate bus routes to Sorrento, including FlixBus, Fiumicino Express and Itabus. From Salerno, the bus ride to Sorrento takes 80 km and will cost you around €7. From Rome, the ticket costs about €7 for a journey of 241 km.
