We had a terrible experience with our drop off. We had to change our plans and our original pickup location was closed. We called Hertz and we were on the phone for 2 hrs being transferred around. No one could help us figure out what we were supposed to do with the car. Finally we just took it to the airport (airport staff was extremely rude) where again no one knew how to help. We ended up getting charged $2,200. We then went to the Hertz counter where a kind lady talked to her manager and helped us get our original prices. I will absolutely NEVER use Hertz again. Their staff is UNFRIENDLY and have no idea how to help!Reviewed 3 Jan 2023

This was a nightmare of an experience. I reserved my rental car through kayak for pick up at the Atlanta airport. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, and when I arrived to the Atlanta airport Hertz location they advised me that my car was actually reserved at the peachtree location, and that that location closed at 6 PM. They then proceeded to advise me that since I had pre-paid that reservation there was nothing they could do for me. They could not transfer my Hertz reservation from the Peachtree location to the Hertz at the Atlanta airport location. So I then ended up paying an additional $740 to rent the exact same car!! Grateful I had a credit card that I was able to put this on, but not everyone is so fortunate. I just do not understand how a company cannot transfer services between different locations. When I requested my rental, my pickup location was entered as Atlanta Hartsfield airport. When we arrived at the Hertz counter in the airport, the rental was in Buckhead-a suburb of Atlanta. To transfer the location was $2100.00 Instead, we took a $35 Uber ride to Buckhead. My blame is not on Hertz but on Kayak which I will not be using again. When we returned the car to the Toledo Ohio location I was given a credit for our Uber cost, and they were very apologetic. Next time I will book directly thougfh HertzReviewed 11 Oct 2022

First my booking was changed to downtown Atlanta from airport. At midnight, the attendant informed me i needed to head downtown for pickup, at my expense. I did so, and found that location closed. I returned to the airport location where I was treated to a new reservation, at a higher rate!! It’s bizarre that the agents on duty feel empowered to make sensible decisions yet failed so woefully.Reviewed 6 Aug 2022

Reservations were allowed when there were no cars. Three and a half hour wait for an unsanitized, dog hair filled, dirty, gas guzzler when I booked a compact. I had to clean the car myself with three staff sitting and watching me do it. Drop-off location was closed when I was scheduled to return the car. Location did not have a drop box for key. Other location given as an option had no place to park the car. Stressful customer service interaction because they could not find a solution to alleviate the drop off issue beforehand. The Atlanta office was dirty. Was a dead cocaroach under my chair. The representative advised the tank was half full and offered no refuel for $39. As i pulled out of the location i realized it was only a quarter tank full. I advised on drop-off that I was misinformed and merely shrug his shoulders saying too bad. Terrible experience with Hertz. I'm an executive platinum flyer and travel often. Will avoid using Hertz in the future.Reviewed 26 May 2022

Their was a cracked windshield on the van and the agent quickly resolved it at getting me another vehicle from another location, however it was not cleaned when I rec'd it. I had no time to take it back. All in all great experience with them. I'll rent again Thank you, LisaReviewed 25 May 2022
