I reserved an “intermediate SUV” on Kayak, but Dollar (fulfilled by Thrifty?) only has a Compact/Intermediate SUV class—so naturally they provide a compact SUV.Reviewed 7 Feb 2024

Rental counter was closed when my flight arrived late (past midnight). I would expect a ‘major’ airport such as SLC would have coverage for later flights. With nobody available in-person and a typically frustrating phone call to a computer only, we had to stay the night nearby and rent my vehicle the next day. No change in rental costs, no acknowledgement of the hassle, simply “tough luck, you want the vehicle or not”.Reviewed 23 Dec 2023

Pros:PriceCons:Reservations give a company a pretty good idea of how busy they will be on any given day. We picked up our car on a Friday with a convention in town, why are they understaffed on a day like this? It took over an hour to get to my car. They might have made a profit that day, but I will think twice before going with Dollar/ Thrifty again.Reviewed 12 May 2021

Pros:No Dollar staff at counter at time of pick up which was 10.30 am on a weekday. Had to wait over an hour in a long line to get a rental from another company and got charged 89 more dollars in charges.Reviewed 9 Apr 2021

Pros:The car was great and the drop off was easy.Cons:We initially paid about $360 for our rental and were told that we would pay $167 more once we picked up the rental. Instead we ended up paying $478. Also, there was no option online to check how much more it would be for people under 25.Reviewed 3 Apr 2021

Pros:Staff was AWESOME. Pickup and drop off were simple and quick.Cons:Both pickup and drop off were at different counters/spots than Dollar. Ended up picking up at the Thrifty counter and dropping off in the Hertz spots. Really just a minor inconvenience.Reviewed 24 Mar 2021

Pros:Drop off in Vegas was super easy and the attendant was super friendly and quick.Cons:Pick-up in Salt Lake was way to slow. Partly because of the first time renter asking a million questions at the pick-up window, and because they were under staffed.Reviewed 26 Dec 2020
