Don't use a debit card unless you only want a maximum of a full size car. I requested an SUV because I had to travel and the weather got pretty bad. I had to downgrade to the Maxima and the handling was terrible. I understand there's rules but my debit card has more cash on it than most credit cards. They could have done a larger deposit or something to secure the vehicle I requested. I needed the vehicle so I couldn't cancel or change things.2.8 Poor

The car was parked very close to a car on the left, which made it very difficult for me to get into the car initially. The car was not clean when I first entered it. The steering wheel was oily and there were crumbs from food on the floor and under the emergency brake. The windshield wipers had some sort of sticky residue under the rubber, not allowing me to properly wipe my windshields. Visibility was low during my road trip, making driving somewhat dangerous.2.0 Poor

When I signed up for the car which was a one way trip from NY to NC it asked me when I would pick up the vehicle and when I would drop it off. I entered 8:00am pickup on Sunday, drop off before 6:00pm Monday. I dropped off at 4:00pm. Hertz didn't have that information so instead of paying $216 I wound up paying $390 and I am less than happy. $15.75/hr plus addl for anything over 24 hrs. Find this unfair and wrong.
