No problem being picked up from Liberia Airport to off-site pickup location . . . It was either a pay an extra $419 for " a 'mandatory' 3rd person collision insurance" or no rental!!!! This was $419 payment for a $147 7-day rental!! The personnel at Payless were were helpful to secure a taxi to Playa del Coco for $60.Reviewed 29 Mar 2024

Cons:I was quoted a low price then told that the price was double. And I did not take the car. I rented a car from another company that was honest about the pricing upfront. I paid more for the company that was honest.Reviewed 10 May 2021

Pros:Vehicle in good shape. Convenient location.Cons:Be careful! Staff lied about insurance requirements and way overcharged. Was told it was required by government and the government sets prices. Not true. Do your research before you arrive unlike me!Reviewed 5 Jan 2021

Cons:The car was inferior to the quality suggested in the application and they didnt want to admit it at time of check in also the rate of $165 for 5 days ended up being over $400 after all the insurance fees that the same company wants you to pay.Reviewed 11 Mar 2018

Cons:Our plane arrived in Liberia, Costa Rica at around the time we had informed the agency. When we came in front, there were numerous vendors holding signs from the other car agencies, but no one from Payless. More than one of those vendors called Payless for us but no one answered. One of the vendors had an office near Payless and they told us that no one was in that office. We had to rent a different car.Reviewed 4 Feb 2018
