Friendly service at the ick-up location; VERY pleased that when I called the 1-800 number to modify my reservation, I actually talked to a real person in under 5 minutes. Overall, Alamo has provided the best rental service that I have experienced in a long time. Will definitely use them again.Cons:
The Kansas City location required additional photo IDs (fraud prevention). This didn't affect me, but others may need to be aware of the requirement (which was not advertised in advance).6.8 Okay

Cons:
Alamo was closed when we arrived in Kansas City. The rental car company to the right next counter over had to handle the paperwork. I had already booked and paid online for an easy pick up. They made us jump through hoops while my 90 year old parents had to wait for us.10.0 Wonderful

I got a car that was dirty (inside and out) and that WAS NOT FULL OF GAS, but was down almost a quarter tank. When I pointed this out, I just got a shrug. Bet if I returned it down a quarter tank the reaction would be different10.0 Wonderful

They let me close any vehicle in the line so i chose a mini van. It was perfect for my needs, clean and new. Return was super quick at the MCI Airport. Never had to wait at all for the shuttle bus. Shuttle was about 5 min from the airport.Dollar

Travelers are in a hurry, when we do a Phone SEARCH, MCI rental cars, we actually want to PICKUP at MIC airport. Travelers don't know what street address or zip code is at the downtown location. Then there's no way to call you, you were closed. I better NOT had been charged anything.7.6 Good

The downtown location didn't have a way to return the rental to them late Saturday or Sunday. I had to pay extra to take it to the airport, less than 1-2 day rental, but still a drag.4.4 Mediocre

They booked me a time after they close for the day so I couldn’t pick up my car. I called the next morning when they opened but they had given my car away the day before. They wouldn’t honor my booking. They charged me double. They would’t “pick us up” (their slogan). Very frustrating!!!Thrifty

Showed up after a 30 minute delayed flight, no one at the counter to assist. Actually have a clerk at the counter that can assist during later hours. Or, if you're going to partner with another rental agency and defer your customers to their desk, make sure that desk is staffed. The counter was closed prior to the scheduled closing time. We were unable to pick up our rental under this reservation and had to check nearby counters that were still open to try to find an available rental. The entire fiasco ended up costing us more than double the original reservation. How will we receive compensation for the unacceptable incompetence?Cons:

Our flight was delayed, the rental office was closed at the airport when we arrived at 1205am. No options but to wait there till 7am to get car. Spent $185 for a cab and hotel that wasn't in our travel plans or budget. No help or discount from budget rental!!!Payless
