We had to wait awhile for our paperwork to be completed and the car was disgusting. The front tire was going flat, the car was so dirty and when we turned the air conditioner on high, two dead cockroaches came out of the vents. The car type that we thought we were getting was not at all what we got. The car was the size of a shoebox. We will never rent from them again on the island of Aruba.Reviewed 6 Apr 2024

Cons:When we got there, we were told they had no cars left. Not even in a different size. They told us they would bring us to Thrifty, who would match the price. Get to Thrifty and they want to give us a smaller car for $20 more (I'm a big guy, and can't fit into those little lunchboxes they call cars). They refused to come down to the promised price, and then told us it would be an $800 security deposit for damages. They wanted to charge my card $1000. Someone else was having the same problem and they couldn't get a car because they didn't have enough credit available for that. They also only take Visa or Mastercard, no AMEX. Went to look at the car and it was small and old, so we ended up never getting a car. Would NEVER try to rent a car at Dollar or Thrifty again.Reviewed 31 May 2021

Worst Experience ever in car rentalPros:Absolutely NOTHINGCons:We made a reservation for a van amd when we got there there was NO van, there was also NO other vehicle that wohld fit 6 people available- we were given 0 options!!! We hace to take a small car and come back the next EVENING to get a van, disrupting all of our plans! Not to mention how RUDE the employees were, Michael was by far the rudest person!!! I hd to call Dollar US cuatomer service juat to complain because there was not even a manager in store!!Reviewed 22 Mar 2017

Good rental but a bit priceyPros:Liked the ease of pickup and dropoffCons:Was not a great value for money, since I can't say the car was in great condition which is what you would expect in rental cars. Luckily it didn't breakdown which was also a worry I had.Reviewed 31 Dec 2016
