  • When you arrive on the beautiful island of Barbados, there aren't many better ways to get around than with the flexibility of your own car. With Bridgetown being situated approximately 25min drive from Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI), it means you can get to the capital city efficiently, rather than having to rely on other modes of transport. The airport is also connected to the Tom Adams Highway, which itself turns into the Errol Barrow Highway and Highway 2A, so you can explore the rest of the island at your own pace.
  • There are many companies which offer car hire at Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport, so it’s probable that each one will have a different policy when it comes to returning the vehicle. Before you book, it is best to double check which one works best for you. For example, SIXT allows you to return your vehicle outside of the office hours upon request, whereas Europcar allow access after-hours for an additional cost.
  • You are likely to have a better choice of agencies available for Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport car hire if you plan your collection for a weekday. For example, some hire companies, like Europcar, do not operate a full schedule on the weekends, being closed entirely on Sundays. The most likely time to catch all the car hire branches open is if you look to hire a car during the morning or early afternoon of a weekday when most agencies operate.
  • When you are intending to car hire at Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport then you might want one which is easier to access upon arrival. For instance, companies such as Drive A Matic and Bajan Car Rentals require a shuttle to get the vehicles, whereas companies like Europcar and Enterprise have vehicles at the terminal, so you can be on the road in no time at all.
  • Book your car hire at Bridgetown Grantley Adams Intl airport at least 1 week before your trip in order to get a below-average price

I checked the Navigation option and I got the one with no navigation. The car was very old. The two tire caps were zip-tied. Barbosa had a poor road condition and I hit the pothole and had a flat tire. The rental company said I damaged the tire, and rim, lost the cap, and charged me $454.00. I swear the actual car might cost less than $500.00. I paid $168.00 for the insurance and that insurance did not cover the tire and rim damage. I was better off crashing the car and using the insurance coverage than having a flat tire. The whole trip was ruined at the end dealing with the rental company. I ended up paying a total of $930.00 for a rental car. I asked them for the damage charges breakdown and here are the charges: for the tire $195.51, for the rim 154.76, and the hub cap $424.04 (hub cap tied with zip-tie!!!). I can provide their documentation of the charges if this sounds too unbelievable. I feel like I was ripped off and cheated.

We arrived at the counter to be told there was a booking, however they have no car for us and that Kayak keep issue cars when they don't have available. No communication was given advising us on this. Absolutely terrible service. Will never use Kayak or Europcar again. Luckily we were able to arrange a car from another provider.
