Pros: The location was superb and within easy reach of everything you could need. The apartment was fully furnished and with all mod cons. Complimentary fruit, juice and water in the apartment before we arrived was just the right touch. Heather, has always been in touch and easily reachable and if there was any issue thatc arise she was there to reassure us. We had a power cut for a few hours and she came over to investigate if it was local property or an area issue and it turned out it was something the power company has to deal with for the local area. The location also helped us engage with locals which you will not get when staying in a hotel where you become one of the herd. We got treated like royalty by staff and I loved it. Oh don't forget free Wi-Fi, alarm clocks and Air conditioning in the rooms. I just love it all and I have found my second home in Barbados at Hopeville Apartments and will stay there everytime from now on (Guaranteed) because I have visited Barbados several times in the past and nothing compares to Hopeville Apartments. Honestly, if you discount this place when you come across it online then you are missing out big time. How it is not the most recommended accommodation on booking.com or TripAdvisor I don't know. 5* service and cleanliness, location. Love it.

Pros: Hopeville Apartments are beautiful apartments. Very tastefully furnished, very clean and very fresh. Fully air conditioned and did I mention clean. 😁 We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. I met Miss Heather who is extremely friendly, kind and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better host. There were enough linens for myself and my 4 kids. Would I stay here again? Most definitely...

Pros: Heather was exceptional and very helpful. We were welcomed with a little something, some bread, butter, cookies and a bottle of water for everyone. This was very welcome after a long haul. The walking distance from the guest house to the main bus route was just right. Good to walk and you don't hear anything from the main street. The deposit was refunded without any delay.

Cons: a large number of air fresheners and their strong smell of lavender / rose / etc. sachets and plug-in fresheners. It helped a little that we collected all items from drawers and furniture to banish them outside. Anyway, after a few days, our son got an itchy rash that he had never had before. After moving to Long Bay, the rash quickly improved. Even the self-filled water from the tap has taken on the smell. Unfortunately, this wonderful house is therefore not suitable for allergy sufferers.

Pros: The whole entire experience the apartment was a home away from home. Excellent value for money.

Cons: To quarantine i wouldn't stay here again, the one pricey restaurant with very little to offer feels like a trap. The room was old and not very clean it made us uneasy as to whether it had been properly cleaned before as we found things behind the drawers and under the bed. Toilet was dirty stained and broken. Room service is all you csn have but each order needs to be over 20 dollars its just not worth it. Perhaps for a normal stay better as the beach was beautiful

Pros: I was here for quarantine, and the staff did all they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Junior Suites are spacious and comfortable. Room service was good. I wasn’t able to use any of the facilities or swimming pool, so cannot comment on these.

Cons: My room was poorly finished as a result of upgrades/maintenance- eg. hole in wall under tv with wires coming out, un-filled holes from previous air conditioning unit, new shower and mirror with poorly finished surround. Overall it is a bit on the expensive side for what it delivers, especially as there was no discount for guests in quarantine.

Pros: The rooms are airy with a big bed and ceiling fans also aircon or, just throw the doors open to the balcony with its table and chairs, leaving the mesh anti-mozz screens closed and you will be open air to the sound of the waves rolling onto the shore. This hotel is on a white sand beach, perfect for swimming and walking. The rooms have a kitchenette with cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. White Company shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion is all generously provided so your luggage can be lighter! Breakfast is delicious and the staff very charming and helpful without being intrusive. Quarantine is brilliantly organised with a separate area with a pool looking onto the ocean, for arrivals (have a PCR test 72 hours before flying) who await results of their 2nd day after arrival tests before being moved if negative, to a new room on the other side and freedom to explore.

Cons: More choice on the menu for a vegetarian would be nice! It was greek salad with a tiny smattering of barely visible feta. But on request they very kindly made omlettes. And the carnivores were very happy with delicious fresh fish, fresh burgers and fresh veg.

Pros: Excellent beach, location with amazing restaurants near by such as Champers and Primo, really cosy hotel and beach area, very calm and beautiful views, cleaning on top (although daily tipping required). Also, surfing school and perfect south beaches nearby for the like minded surfers.

Cons: The only thing that negatively surprised was the staff. Not sure if it’s due to covid and lower activity/ wages, but in some instances it was simply disappointing. For example, simple smiles or being pleasant, lack of minimum warmth from Kalabash Cafe or the pool bar servers made us sometimes feel a little bit like we were asking a favor ordering lunch or a coctail. Also, we had to phone 3 times and request them the covid test result, while they had results since 7am, and we got them only by 4pm- so make sure not to wait around but push them and keep asking otherwise stuck in isolation haha. But again, maybe its just a tricky time for the workers, did not ruin our stay whatsoever, just the main point of improvement for the hotel to become even more excellent.

Pros: Beautiful beach, great shower and very comfortable beds. The kitchenette had everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful watersports team.

Cons: There are no elevators so those on higher floors had some exercise before reaching up. This would be difficult for elderly and physically challenged people

Pros: The hotel is beachfront, nicely laid out, comfy, clean.

Cons: It does not protect the guests from taxi overcharging - the only country I've been to (and I've been to many) where taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is cheaper than from the hotel to the airport!! Taxi overall is expensive, and there are no cheaper alternatives for families. Ocean waves were all the time too choppy to swim. Hotel could use renovation.

Pros: The hotel is very clean and the staff friendly. I had a fabulous room over looking the sea and one of the pools one side and the other pool the other. Room clean and well appointed.

Cons: The only criticism is the WiFi which drops out every few minutes - making FaceTime calls impossible and particularly irritating if on a website and you’ve filled in data. That said sometimes difficult communication is a good thing!

Pros: The ocean view room we asked to be upgraded to was very bright and the view was wonderful. We especially enjoyed being able to have the window open - thanks to a screen - at night and falling asleep to the sound of the crushing waves. The best rooms are the ones in the new building, facing the ocean. The island view room is equally spacious but faces the parking lot and nearby traffic so we would not recommend it.

Cons: The staff was very inconsistent regarding their attitude. Some people were very nice and friendly others more prickly. This applies to the bar staff and to security, staff so you never knew who you were going to interact with. The staff at the front desk was nice with perhaps one exception.

Cons: Extremely rude evening front desk person who refused to clearly explain the protocol when we asked to be explained what we could do : go to your room until you leave the hotel. These are difficult times and we were keen to comply with any specific rules but I do not think it is too much to ask to be told what the rules are. Thankfully another person stepped in and explained what the rules were, we complied with pleasure. Another note, the rooms are old (rust stains in the bathtub), we chose this please as a stopover to another island... it is still a terrible place.

Pros: Proximity to the beach is optimal, the service staff is amazing and breakfast is lovely. The ocean view studio is very cute and comes with a stove, plates and cutlery if one is interested in cooking for oneself. This was a pleasant surprise.

Cons: The pool is not the biggest, and after having stayed at Accra Beach Hotel it was just basic but this is not a deal killer. The beach that the hotel occupies is not the the calmest but this is the south coast of the island and that's what you get. The walls are a bit thin and some adjoining rooms might have guests that are sticklers for quiet and your noisy child might drive them crazy :) Other than those minor things, they're really no downsides to this hotel.

Pros: Apartment was big and very luminous. Lots of storage space.. Large patio. Reception staff were wonderful. Phoning me to check if I was ok during quarantine and picking up stuff for me at the supermarket. Repairs were fixed immediately. Felt very safe. There is a security guard at night. Location is great near the beach, supermarket, cash machine, bar and restaurant, etc. There is a restaurant onsite called Irie. Acces to the pool once I got my second negative test.

Cons: The pool was a bit disappointed. Smaller than on pic and sun beds are just piled up in a shed and not cleaned.

Cons: Only a door between units, light streaming through ,could hear every word of drunken neighbours as they swore and yelled,slamming doors in the middle of the night and/ or early mornings- totally ruined my sleep and our stay.Plus left a large,dead,cockroach on the floor by the desk to see how long it stayed, passed by two supposed cleaning days and not picked up.Extremely poor pots and pans, got an electric shock from stove, complained and it was fixed,supposedly.

Pros: Amazing reception upon arrival; friendly and understanding. Walked us to the guest house which was lovely. Quaint space with all the amenities we were expecting. Kitchen had all needed cookware and utensils. Dishsoap provided on request. Always service with a smile.

Cons: The shower in the main room was tiny and the main bathroom was in need of a quick wipe down which we didn't mind doing. We requested a later checkout which was forgotten but then rectified in a conversation. I prefer a safe that you choose your own code in place of a keyed safe for security purposes.

Pros: Great place to stay close to the airport. Very quiet are with good beach access. The hosts were phantastic: very friendly, welcoming, knowledgable, and professional.

Cons: Restaurant options in walking distance are limited. A nearby local bar serves food, but if you traveled with kids, you would probably want to take a taxi / car to the next town.

Pros: We have stayed here before a it was our first choice for a one night stopover near the Airport.

Pros: We had a two bedroom suite and the suite itself was lovely. The beds were standard for the Carribean which means they aren't cushy but comfortable enough. Gorgeous coral throughout, lovely large bathrooms. We had a private pool on the deck which was super nice, especially during quarantine. Decent kitchen facilities and the restaurants were okay but not spectacular.

Cons: The air conditioner didn't work. When we first arrived, it blasted cold air regardless of what temperature the AC was on. I even asked for many, many blankets as I could not get the AC to regulate. During the evening, I woke up and the AC wouldn't work at all... it became like a sweat lodge and although maintenance came by to reset the AC, it still was not working. The second night it went out again so I opened the windows to get fresh air but as this is a very active environment (think mosquitoes) not only was I hot but I got bit, a lot. I also felt that the maintenance staff didn't take my discomfort very seriously and the second night, they didn't even respond to my request that the AC was broken. Luckily, our covid test came back negative and therefore we checked out early... primarily to get sleep. Its really unfortunate that a favorite blouse also got ruined in their laundry. We ended up using housekeeping laundry to clean our clothes and my blouse came back with spots like it had chlorine or pool chemicals washed with it. I don't know what happened but as I wore this shirt on the plane and put it directly into the washer (that didn't work, the locking mechanism was broken) I lost my favorite shirt. I did receive back $100 bajan for the shirt and a $100 bajan for the AC issue; however, it was truly the most miserable sleep I've gotten on the Carribean and I could not wait to leave. Also, even though our kitchen had basic kitchen utensils and supplies, they were not to my liking. Please note that I think we just had bad luck and this is not their usual but I cannot stress enough how uncomfortable I was here.

Pros: The whole way they've managed the covid restrictions and precautions is fantastic, we felt very safe at all times. The "quarantine" while you wait for your 2nd test on arrival is very comfortable - you can walk the resort and use the beautiful historic pool. Room service menu for dinner is slightly limited, but perfectly good for a couple of evenings. Included breakfast is brought to your room for no charge. Then once you have your green band...we never left the resort. Beach is stunning with loungers, towels all provided and a bar/cafe right there (with elevator access from the resort to the beach!). Restaurant choice was great with well priced delicious food. Breakfast buffet had a great range of options that switched each day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall couldn't have wished for a better holiday.

The staff would not let me use the beach or go to their restaurants or have housekeeping and the resort still charged me the same rate as everyone else. Unfortunately my test results came back the night before we were checking out

Pros: The hotel and resort staff were excellent. They greeted us upon arrival and the staff was very attentive. The room is precisely as described (ocean view king suite) complete with a kitchen. The beach staff was also great drinks and food delivery.

Cons: The only recommendation I would make is to add more local food to the room service menu and extend the hours. This can be avoided however, by shopping better during the day.

Pros: We had three nights at the resort after 10 days on a catamaran in the Grenadines and it was great. Wonderful views, pools, and beach. Good food options. Will stay again!

Cons: The location for this hotel is very central to both the Gap and Dover Beach which is literally across the road from the hotel. Hotel was OK, clean and tidy, the pool is small but the beach is metres away so not too much of an issue. The on site resturant is very expensive for what it is, I'd advise eating and drinking on the strip loads of stalls and restaurants nearby walking distance. Overall I would reccomonend staying here which is good value for money.

Cons: facilities were old and run down, my friends toilet was leaking and didn't get fixed for a couple days. very loud vent outside our room that was disturbing. housekeepers were exceptionally rude. a lot of other things i can tolerate considering what we paid but in the service industry its personality that counts. Cons: The hotel rooms are very tired and in serious need of a full refurbishment. Covid, as in so many places now, gives a massive excuse to provide limited and poor service. Cleanliness was not appropriate to the levels required by Covid. Having chickens and cockrels that start crowing at 3am is not a good selling point.

Pros: A nice property albeit a bit dated and the rooms for a condo are quite small compared to newbuild stuff these days. Very pleasant staff especially the team on the front desk.

Cons: The water pressure in the shower is atrocious down to the point of non-existent. They claim they are sorting it but I think this is impossible as they do not have the pipe network set up correctly. Most days the shower was merely a trickle and it was impossible to wash off soap and shampoo. There are many other comments through reviews regarding this and the fact it has not been properly resolved is quite hopeless.

Cons: We were put in a beach front room upon arrival and it was filthy and run down. The curtains had holes in them the floor was stained there was hair on the bathroom floor .

Pros: The location is excellent, with a great beach and plenty of restaurants, bars, music a short stroll away down St Lawrence Gap. I think this was my 3rd or 4th stay and the staff were great, especially Heather at the Front Desk who is very resourceful and a problem solver, Jaden at the Front Desk, Margaret the Operator, Kevin Cadogan at Pure Ocean and Denise, who cleaned the room.

Cons: Unfortunately I was unable to phone the front desk or access the internet for most of my stay. I think there should be an a la carte option at breakfast for those who don’t like big breakfasts or buffets where food is cold. Buildings near the beach could use some sprucing up and fresh paint.

Pros: The staff was very welcoming and pleasant. We were served drinks upon checking in and the lobby staff served us drinks or water each day. The resort was conveniently located in walking distance to St, Lawrence Gap, a strip of bars, restaurants and lounges. There was also a convenience store on the walk to the Gap so you don't have to go all the way to the supermarket for small items. The rooms were nice and as pictured. The cleaning staff were thorough.

Cons: The mattress for the pull out couch was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I literally felt every single spring in that mattress. I left my vacation with back pain. The kitchen was stocked with glassware, plate and silverware but it was annoying that there were no paper towels to dry our hands and no sponge to clean the dishes ourselves. Also, it would have been nice if the pavilion by the pool was actually functioning. It looked like is used to be a bar/restaurant but it was not in use. We were able to sit at the tables under the pavilion but I was hoping for more activity and entertainment near the pool area. On the last day the power went out in some areas of the island and the hotel waited until it got dark on Monday evening to start handing out small candle lights and plug in a mobile generator for a light in the lobby. A resort of this size should definitely have a back up generator for situations like this. The resort would not even compensate us for the 1 day we were without power or hot water.

Pros: Everything else...The staff was warm and welcoming and helpful. The room was excellent it has in everything you would need for a relaxing stay.

Cons: My tv didn't have a tv guide so it was hard to choose something to watch. But otherwise there was nothing to dislike

Pros: The people who work there are friendly and helpful. The many return guests add to the “family” feeling which makes you want to come back. Free internet and a lovely beach. I enjoyed the beach restaurant and the happy hour was not to be missed.

Cons: Elevator out of service and we were put on the 5th floor. Wifi was worse than dial up. Food was expensive at the restuarant. I don't plan on going there ever again.

Pros: Location! Hotel needs & is working on updating. Main section of hotel is NOT beachfront. Main section -get pool view OR get "beach villa", its across a road by restaurant on beach. All room have full kitchen

Cons: 3 star is accurate, I have no dislikes, we have to remember that most of our time is not inside

Cons: This hotel is in need of a major refurbish and overall clean up and maintenance and paint. Our view from our room was the dumpster. Staff could not find our reservation even though it was booked day before. $--- per night-/ old pictures and info on hotel

Cons: Front desk staff was cold , no smile on their face but in the morning during Check out it was little better , there were not bottled water in the room , I don't mind paying for it but they didn't kept any for sale , will never stay again

Pros: Nice big uncrowded pool, beautiful surrounding, very close to the beach.

Cons: The mattress could be more comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was very low and water kept changing temperature from hot to cold.

Pros: The staff and owners were overly accommodating, even giving me a ride to a local medical clinic for a non-emergent issue. The property was just lovely, very quaint with a local flair. You received a drink of choice upon arrival and all staff (and even some locals hanging at bar/ restaurant) were very very friendly. Look forward to staying again the next time I am passing through Barbados!

Pros: I liked how the staff is 100% dedicated to helping you have the greatest vacation. They even got me a rental car at the last minute! Very friendly. The view is absolutely spectactlar.

Cons: The Wifi leaves something to be desired. It was only availible outside my room (I had to go to my porch) or go down to the pool.

Cons: WiFi was not worked well, I was connected to guest WiFi since I couldn't find hotel wifi inside the room and signal is getting dropped most of the time. Room didn't have basic necessities like coffee, water bottles, etc. The stay was definitely expensive.

Pros: Breakfast was decent and Cathy ran things very well. Pools were nice and clean and good temp, although one very deep and one very shallow, not ideal for my 7yo daughter who is learning to swim. Staff were all helpful and friendly even before we arrived with helpful email responses to questions. Food was good but basic. Young barman not very experienced at making cocktails so made the rum punch incredibly strong! Room was basic but clean and everything worked.

Cons: No pool or beach towels provided. Wi-fi was pretty weak and slow in our room at least. Hotel seems to be a place where airlines dump stranded passengers so lots of big groups of people coming and going every day.

It's so pricey and you definitely do not get what you pay for. The property is very old, the fridge in the rooms is always EMPTY, staff is EXTREMELY RUDE, the food is NASTY and if you ask them for something (such at juice, fruit or yogurt they give you nasty looks and tell you off), and not everything is included and there is nothing else you can drink besides fake coke and Sprite if you don't drink alcohol. Be prepared for random taxes and to pay 2 USD for 500ml of bottled water. I would never come back to this hotel and I would definitely not recommend staying here at all. I came here with my whole family for a family vacation and they completely ruined it. Stay way from this place, it's not even half as nice as it looks on the pictures.

Cons: Terrible dinner for a very high price. Don't be sucked in by the big looking menu - only a small amount is available and they don't tell you until you are committed. Chicken undercooked, salad just small lettuce leaves, some thin apple slices and tomato wedge.

Pros: The property was a mess ..... from the time i enter the room i notice the light in the bedroom werent working ,i paid for ac and the host had to borrow the guest next door ac remote to turned mines on,no television r lamps as advertised ,wifi poor poor as soon as the room door was closed the wifi cut out ,room needed dusting and room smelt moldly it was awful i asked to have a refunded back to my credit card.

Pros: Ol' guy waited for me to reach quite late, to ensure that I could get the keys to my room, which had an okay size.

Cons: The beds were hard, the water was warm only, the television was a challenge to operate, and I had to pay for air-conditioning!
