I received a call an hour before taking off to go to Bishop that my reserved car would not be available and they had no other cars to give me. The person who called to tell me said he would be at the airport when I arrived, however he was not there. I had to scramble and find another mode of transportation to get to my destination.

Cons:

Kayak needs to check to see if they are actually renting car's when you book a car rental. We got a call 1 day before our trip to find out that National was closed at Mammoth Lakes airport and we would have to go to Bishop for a car (44 miles away). We ended up not renting.

Wait for a reserved car was 90 minutes. More than a week after dropping off the car, still awaiting a copy of the final invoice. Returning the car was about the only part of the rental process that went well.

Car being rented at very remote location. Called two days before to confirm reservation and operating hours of 9-5 and customer service confirmed. Called day before date. Location didn't answer but went to customer service who assured me facility open 9-5 and car was there. Paid for ride to location. Car was not there. Location not open. Instead of interesting drive with my son, I had to use a private car service to drive me a substantial distance to another airport, to buy last minute ticket. We won't talk about fees I had to pay for ride and tickets, which for an ER RN who hasn't worked due to illness contracted during outbreak, Basically it means there will be no summer vacation with my son.
