We had very wonderful experience with Avis in Tasmania especially staffs were very friendly and helpful. Dipa helped us out getting our car very simple and she also gave us some guidance on which places to visit in Tasmania. We did not had any issues with the car and very convenient to pick up and drop off the car at the airport. So, Thank you Dipa and other staffs for your excellent service. 😊😊

Compact car and efficiency of fuel

Cons:

Poor condition of vehicle. Vehicle made rattling noise from engine, which made us insecure of car breaking down. When defrost / a/c system was powered an extremely loud and disturbing sound came from what I imagine is the compressor. This last condition resulted in lots of vibration in the car when idle.

Very easy to pick up and drop off. Got deposit back within 2 days. Very affordable price. Only issue was a sticker on the rear windscreen was right in the middle of the glass blocking the best view from the rear view mirror. Not terrible but just annoying

Car was waiting for us...no delays. Clean, and gassed up.

Cons:

Car was old...it had over 117,000km on odometer, plus a weak battery making for difficult starting. But having said that, the car made it through iur rental period ok.

Great price and quality car. The pickup was a little confusing, as the supplied instructions were to call Apex to arrange transfer to pickup point, but no-one answered the phone, and the system was not working. We just saw the Apex transfer bus at the airport pull up and hopped on randomly. With the Apex depot off site, the car drop-off had to be done before 5pm, which was inconvenient for us, as we had a late night flight. It would have been good to have an extra cost option to be able to leave the car/keys somewhere else for after hours drop-off, but unfortunately this was not an option. But the hire car was good quality, well priced and the staff were great once we found how to get to the depot.

Kayak misleadingly shows this as “in terminal” when in fact it’s a shuttle ride away. The shuttle does not run very often. And they don’t have cars ready (we were told when we arrived that it would be at least an hour because they were waiting on another rental company to send them cars). Sketchy! Avoid!
