Staff very friendly. But my gas tank wasn’t full and my bill was $900. So now I get to spend prob an hour on the phone tomorrow fixing this.

When I picked up my car o was charged an additional $80. I noticed it a few hours later when I had to take the car back cause of the maintenance light being on. Not to mention the car was dirty and had the previous customers outdo so belongings still in it. And Budget had the nerve to have a dirty car clause in the contract stating if you brought the cat back dirty, there was a $400 fee when they gave the car to me dirty. I took the car back due to the maintenance light being on but I had to take it to the Budget at the Austin Airport because the location (Barton Creek) that I picked it up from was closed. I explained the situation to the ppl at the Airport, and was told because I picked it up 40 minutes early, I was charged for another day which was BS. No one told me a thing. If I was informed, I would have waited the 50 minutes and came back, I was in the mall anyway. After Waiting in line over 30 minutes, I exchanged the first car and had the same issue with the maintenance lights being on. So I had to get back in line and wait another 40-45 minutes to exchange the second car. I get a third car and it wreaks of string cigarette smoke to the point I began to immediately start coughing and got a headache. Got back in line to inform them of this issue and the lady said she can clean it out to get rid of the smell so I was like ok. She took about another 30 minutes to get the smell out of the car with air fresheners. We left the rental car place and after about an hour into the trip, thr cigarette smell came back stronger than before. Dealing with the multiple exchanges with this car took up valuable time that I did not have. When I returned the car I was charged a total of $160 over what my reservation was for. The owner at the Barton Creek Mall location said he would refund my $160 and send confirmation to my email. I have yet to receive that email

I showed up late to my reservation so the rate changed, increasing my bill for a one-week rental by $150, which was my fault. But the agent at the desk didn't tell me my rate was increasing, instead obfuscating the increase with a bunch of fees, one of which was a fee for prepaid gas which I explicitly declined. I called support to inquire about the rate increase, which I only noticed later, and it took over an hour to get a straight answer. During that call the service agent said she'd remove the prepaid gas free, since I declined it, and she didn't. So... yeah, the car functioned fine but the customer service was terrible.

Flight was delayed and when I got there they told me they gave away my car because I was late. No other cars were available, so we spent the weekend using Uber.

Pros:

One needs to be very careful in checking puck up and drip off locations. My pick up was NOT at the airport . The airport location told me there would be a sleight upcharge to redo the reservation and start a new one. The price was DOUBLE and there is no refund on the Priceline reservation!

Cons:

The airport should have helped there customer and traveler and explained to me where the other location was. They should have advised me to take a 30$ Cab ride and saved myself over 500$. I had to jump through hoops to get it right. In all fairness, the Representative at the OTHER location was awesome! He was helpful, honest and empathetic to my situation.
