Subject: Misleading Charges from Advantage Car Rental I booked an Advantage rental through KAYAK at $18/day, but at pick-up, Advantage coerced me into paying for unnecessary insurance, falsely claiming it was mandatory. This significantly inflated the charges. Upon review, I found out the coverage was optional. Advantage has extremely low reviews on Yelp for similar deceptive practices, and I urge KAYAK to reconsider listing them to protect customers from scams. Please let me know if you can assist in addressing this issue or ensure others don’t face the same.
Charged an unwanted fee for “tire and windshield insurance” even though I have full coverage rental car insurance with my carrier. Car was very dirty.
Very nice employees. Very helpful and trying to do the best they can with what employees they do have. They need to hire more help.
My plane was delayed and when I arrived at Advantage two hours and fifteen minutes late, they said my car was gone because they only hold it for two hours and they would no longer honor my price. They offered me a more expensive car and said that was all they had available. Don’t ever use them.
I never took possession of the car. After waiting for over 40 minutes with just 2 people in front me, the agent wanted to force me to take additional insurance for the tires. It was absurd. So when I asked to show me the policy that clearly shows that there is mandatory requirement for the additional tire insurance, the agent became hostile and offered to cancel my reservation if I did not agree. Worse experience ever for renting a car I went to Alamo and it took me 5 minutes to get my car.
The internet site would not let me put in the correct return date it automatically went 2 extra days and made it a one week rental when I went to pickup the car I advised them that it would be returned 2 days early at that point my rental fees went up $400, I ended up canceling the car, then had to walk over to the rental car area at the airport and start over, I will never use Advantage again
