The car was new and ran well, but needed windshield wipers. Pick up and drop off were a little challenging with poor signage for the lots.

When we arrived, we learned our pre-paid reservation had been cancelled without notice. The friendly woman at the counter fixed it for us, but upon returning the car, the bill was about €60 more than what had been arranged. We have to wait a few weeks for the original payment to be refunded. Annoying to have to spend the extra time figuring out the additional charges and getting refunded.

The girls at pick up were lovely. Only thing is at drop off the guy was new and could not answer any of our questions and even kept asking us what we should do next. (For example do we have to go to the front desk or can we leave since he inspected the car and we gave him the keys)

Cons:

Our Skoda diesel sedan got terrific fuel mileage, over 50mpg! We found the seats to be less comfortable than desired on our multiple 2.5 hour daily jaunts. Other than that, wonderful car and great experience from Avis.

Pros:

I was pleased that we could pick-up & drop-off in different cities without paying a large fee. Also, we appreciated not being required to use the locations at the airport, which was more convenient for us.

Cons:

The car was provided with only 3/8 of a tank of fuel, which required us to fill it very shortly after pick-up. Also, the car provided was much larger than anticipated (a crossover as opposed to intermediate size), which made driving on narrow mountain roads a bit more difficult.

Cons:

There is no dedicated drop off lot in Split (city location). You have to pay to park the car at the bus station and walk a few blocks to the rental office. No one mentioned this when we picked up the car and requested a drop of at the city location.

Pros:

Nice car, nice and clean.

Cons:

Ordered a 5 seater car, when we went to pick it up it only had 4 seats! You shouldn’t advertise a car for having 5 seats if it doesn’t. Man in the shop was quite grumpy.

We reserved and payed the car 3 days in front. Because of the delay of our flight they just gave the car to someone else and offered us for more then double the prize another car. What a scam! We took our car from another car rental for the same prize we had booked. Now I have to loose time and effort to get my money back…

When I got to Split airport and I told the Green Motion that we had arrived, after a long time, speaking to lots of different people over the phone, being called many times, someone arrived eventually to pick us up. We were told that we had to get in the car and drive to their offices 500m away. We asked which company office this actually is, because from google maps, it did not seem like green motion had an office this close to the airport. We asked again what company they work for and they said Vintax, who had ‘taken over’ after green motion closed down their Split airport branch. After a quick google, I realised this was a fraudulent company and did not get in the car, so I did not receive the service I had paid for in the slightest. Many Google reviews as well as speaking to staff from Hertz at the airport corroborated this. As this listing was on Kayak, a trusted price comparison site, I would like to have full compensation of this booking due to the awful and at times scary experience I had, resulting in me not receiving the service I paid for
