Clean room, location
Location is awesome less than one minute from Oxford st about five minutes walk to soho and Carnaby st and about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the London eye and the tower bridge Breakfast is very good Rooms are unlike in the pictures The hotel needs a lot of updates
Over night stop
Not much other than it was clean and close to the Eurostar. Essentially you paid for the location.
No toiletries or fridge. Tiny double bed in awkwardly shaped room. In Europe it would have been marked up as a no frills business hotel and would have cost far less.
Excellent location
Location is very central, across the road from a tube station and right next to Oxford St for shopping.
Room was small, perfect for travelling as only really in the room to sleep. Was disappointed that the pool was shut for renovations while I was staying as I wasn't aware of this when booking.
The location was the only positive.
The room was about the size of a closet, and everything smelled.
London visit
Food location staff , all works well , I would love to go back but when all the work is done so it'll be that bit more comfortable for me
The hotel lifts were very slow and 2 was not working at all , also there was work being done for the new reception area ! As I have sciatica very bad , It was very difficult using the stairs and temporary steps the hotel put in place !
Terrible
We went on a weekend away because he had tickets to see Harry Potter and the cursed child, which the hotel was a short five minute walk away which was great for me and my friend to get there as it was over 2 nights.
However we were never informed that there was to be building works happening throughout February. This resulted in there being no room for a reception desk and little to do in the hotel as everything was cordened off. As for the rooms, they were small and dated, they also didn't have much of a blind for the windows. As there has been a neon lit build finished across the street from the hotel, the room was lit up all night. To add to this there was a false fire alarm at 4am in the morning which no one came to inform us about but we could barely hear it from our room. The shower cubicle was really small with a really powerful shower that wasn't pleasant and to top everything we had a cockroach crawl into our room just before our departure that resided under our bed. All in all multiple things went wrong with our stay and I wouldn't recommend.
Too Many Issues
Location and cleanliness are the only positives about my stay.
Poorly operating lifts. Bathroom so small. TV inoperable. WiFi requires £5 payment daily by purchasing a code from a vending machine. Long lines at check in. Long line at luggage check/collection. Never again!
Pretty average
Spent about a week in London and stayed at the St. Giles. No regrets. Close to the West End action and much cheaper than some in the area. This hotel is also frequented by bus tours - Ugh. The room was good though small (almost Japanese hotel room small). We did not partake of their restaurants and went to a much, much better buffet down the street for breakfast. Concierge staff was very helpful
we had a great visit. The staff was impeccably polite and helpful.
the elevator situation was pretty bad. I don't know if some of the lifts weren't functioning or what, but we ended up taking the stairs most of the time
Location. Location. Helpful and pleasant staff.
Cold room in morning. Too few lifts. Lack of TV channels.
Concierge people are very nice.
Single room has no place for luggage
Access to tube trains
This hotel is not a star hotel. Rooms are very small
A nice complimentary breakfast the following day.
We booked a table for 4 in the hotel's Italian restaurant for Saturday 27/11/10 at 5pm in order for us to attend a show. When we were ready to eat we were told that we didn't have a reservation as this restaurant did not open on a Saturday night. We were however placed in your Japanese restaurant without too much bother. Better communication with guests would be better.

St. Giles London is situated in London's beautiful West End area, near the junction between Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. St. Giles is a short walk away from some of London's most beautiful gardens like Hyde Park and nightlife hotspots like Tiger Tiger and Funky Budha. and guests will find everything they need easily within walking distance. All of London's airports can be easily gotten to either by car or train, should visitors want to skip renting a car altogether.
There are 675 guest rooms in St. Giles, with four different styles. Classic Rooms come with all the standard amenities one would want in a hotel room, including LCD TV, digital safe, hairdryer, wifi, and an in-room tea & coffee maker. City Rooms are very similar to the Classic Rooms, except they come with extra space for a lounge area, a work space, and a mini-fridge that is perfect for storing beverages or leftovers. Executive Rooms and Executive Suites are the final two layouts, both of which come with the best that St. Giles has to offer. The only difference between the two is that Executive Suites are multiple rooms while Executive Rooms are just one.
All guests at St. Giles are welcome to start their day with a self-service breakfast buffet in the main floor of the hotel. Beyond this expansive buffet, the hotel has three different facilities guests can choose to dine at. VQ 24 Hour Cafe is a quick service spot where diners can grab a meal any time, day or night. Hudson's House is a fully-stocked bar with beer, wine, and an array of liquor. The most popular of the group, though, is Sage & Chilli Restaurant, which combines contemporary European dishes with Italian culinary traditions. Some of the house specialties include fish & chips, wild mushroom risotto, and slow roasted aubergine.
