Unfortunately we were there for one of the hottest June's in 40 years in London. No a/c in the hotel, just a small fan that we tried to situate to blow across the bed. There was one night during our stay where it cooled down enough at night that the 4th floor room was comfortable for sleeping. There was a/c in the breakfast room in the morning. Too bad we couldn't sleep there. Breakfast was a small buffet of meat, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and juices as well as tea/coffee. Enough to get us started for the day.
No a/c was really the biggest issue. If it had been cooler, it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but it was so hot while we were there we were sweating all day and all night making it uncomfortable to get any sleep.
Unique atmosphere and yummy breakfast and social room. Distances to oval station required a bus, but allowed to be away from tourist attractions which was nice.
Initially the neighborhood and building being locked (requiring being buzzed in) were disconcerting that the area was unsafe, but we did feel safe for our visit.
Fantastic SERVICE and attitude towards their customers, exceptional CLEANLINESS and care :) and, of corse, DESIGN!
Location could be better, but it was a bit complicated ONLY on the day of arrival. Nearest bus stops are just a few steps from the hotel and they take you directly to the city center. No problems at all.
The service was absolutely incredible, the breakfasts were delicious, and the design of the building and the rooms were unique (in a great way). I recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again, no hesitation.
The location wasn't ideal for visiting the city center, but that wasn't much of a problem, as the area had plenty of bus service. The area also got a bit noisy in the early morning hours (we visited on a weekend), and the room got uncomfortably warm during the night (my bed was right up against the heating unit).
Staff were especially helpful, really clean and well run hotel., nice rooms and nice breakfast.
