Tausi Palace Hotel

The Hotel was close distance to lots of walking places and near the beach also. The beds were clean and with comfortable mattresses - not too hard. The air conditioning was fabulous and we were so thankful for it as February was HOT! We had a kettle in the room through you had to boil drinking water as the tap water tasted like salt when boiled. The fridge was wonderful for a family of five. Showers were good although in one bathroom the shower floods the floor for a bit. I really wished there were bath mats but they appeared on our third day which helped to mop up water on the floor. The rooms were spacious and it was nice to have the suitacase racks. Breakfast was a vast choice with lots of drinks and food to choose from. The staff kindly made sure my kids managed to get pancakes every morning. The view from the roof was lovely and breezy. It was a perfect location for the first part of our trip.

The taxi did not meet us at the airport at 1.30am so we were a little lost trying to find our way in a new country. We ended up paying for our own taxi $20 to get there but the hotel were kind enough to remburse us for this - v good customer service. It would be nice to have more pillows please. Each member of the family only got one pillow and a few were pretty thin. Apart from that the Hotel was very nice for our family of five and we really enjoyed our stay. There is no view outside really from the room itself but it didn't matter as it was a cool base point for us to explore. It was also too hot to even think about going out onto the veranda so we were happy to stay indoors in the cool air con. A drying rack would be nice in the family room as there was nowhere to hang wet clothes. A big empty basket for a family's shoes would be nice too to keep them together in one place off the floor. The two "double beds" in the back room were not as big as I expected. One was pretty much a slightly big twin bed and two children would not sleep comfortably in it. It was good the master bed was so big so my seven year old could sleep in the middle of us. Then my 11 year old and 13 year old had their own bed - definitely not like a double size that I am used to.
