Great location, free parking, very interesting historical building and not expensive.
Nothing much to dislike about Dhow Palace. For a western visitor, not being licenced to sell alcohol is always a little inconvenient and the coffee at breakfast was awful given that Tanzania grows fine Kilimanjaro coffee beans.

We would recommend this hotel, its located directly in stone town, everything in the old city is reachable by foot within 15 minutes. Try a pizza at the night market @ Mr chocolate! The rooms are big and very comfortable. The personal is nice, maybe a bit "too much" in selling tours. Anyway - we booked a city walking tour and the prison island transport and enjoyed both of them! The breakfast is also very delicious and has a variety of things to choose.

Perfect location two streets back from the sea. It’s a 16 century building furnished in traditional style largely with old furniture. Beds v comfortable and ceiling fans effective.
