Pros: The beds were amazing

Cons: The lighting and aircon could be improved (room 407,408 and 409)

Pros: The Yeatman came highly recommended and did not disappoint in any way. The staff was exceptional and went to extremes to make everything perfect for us. Breakfast was amazing both in terms of the food choices and the helpful people, not to mention that it was included in our room rate. The location gives a great view over Porto. Walking to town takes some effort (and more effort for the return!) but cabs are plentiful.

Pros: This hotel, the staff and their restaurant should be a benchmark for anyone expect 5 Stars!!! Excellent !

Pros: Great view and a well decorated and comfortable room. The breakfast was excellent and with many options. Overall a great hotel and TOP staff.

Pros: From the moment you step on to the property The Yeatman does not disappoint. The property itself is divine, but it’s the quality of service and the amazing staff that will bring us back time and time again.

Cons: What didn’t we like? When it was time to check out. Most definitely could have stayed on longer if we didn’t have a pressing engagement.

Pros: The owner is very nice and helpful. He speaks many languages. Very sympathetic welcome. Very good and complete breakfast : homemade cake, excellent bread, jam, cheese, and meat.

Pros: Returned to Gaia Porto Hostel after 4 years and it is still as good as it used to be. The host Joao and his family are amazing, they know how to take care of their guests. Location is nice with many restaurants and grocery shops in the area. Besides, views from the terrace are unbelievable. Breakfast is probably the best out of all the hostels I have been to.

Pros: Excellent location, easy access to shops, restaurants, railway station and close proximity to airport. Spacious room very clean and neat, well decorated, comfortable bed. The facilities i.e. spa and pool are affordable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent atmosphere! Great value for money!

Cons: Having to leave so soon - end of holiday!

Cons: No cooling air conditioning in rooms.

Cons: Didn't have toothbrush kit not a body cream and only add one bottle of water in the room.

Pros: The food and staff were wonderful.

Cons: There is NO reason that a high end spa and wellness center should have a smoking room in the middle of the lobby, bar, and restaurant. It was very unpleasant to step out of the elevator and be hit with smoke.

Cons: Disgusting breakfast! Very old hotel! In bathroom there is hairdryer like vacuum cleaner from 80’s!))) it’s really bad hotel which not worth those money takes! Tacky robes and towel. The staff is kind wile you pay, but if you try go out earlier than booked, they become loud and unfriendly! They steal money and nothing more!!! EXTREMELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Pros: Luxury hotel located between the towns of Espinho and Nova Gaia 20-minute away from Porto by car. Great swimming pools and spa. Excellent menu for dinner at the restaurant. There is a long walking wooden trail ( "pasadiço") bordering the sea that walkers will love.

Pros: Staff very friendly.Breakfast very good.Evening meal hardly any choice so used the bar snacks.Needed a car as no places to eat or drink nearby.So had to walk about 15 minutes for coffee etc.Pooll lovely but if weather was bad nothing to do.Quite isolated.Dudnt cater for English even though English there.No tea or coffee in room.Pillows were awful .

Pros: Great ocean view from most of the rooms that have a balcony. Very quiet and calm. Great place to relax thanks to well functioning amenities and services. Direct exit from the hotel to the ocean and beach promenade. Free spacious private parking in front of the hotel. Overall, you will get reasonably priced upper-class hotel. Perfect for relaxation after busy sightseeing day in Porto. Also worth spending a day inside without leaving hotel area.

Cons: If you don't have a car getting to the hotel and back to the Porto will be a problem. Food selection during the breakfast is rather limited, and was the same all days of our stay. Also, don't waste time on nearby village: construction works are ongoing throughout the town, most business are closed, only one descent coffee place and one good restaurant are available.

Pros: Staff was amazing. Free Daily shuttle to Porto. Restaurant was great

Pros: All was good except the bathroom, was not clean, the shower was the worst, rest of the room was so so the room cleanses dpt not correspond to the of the hotel, all was very nice and clean.

Cons: Hotel is outdated. Dark carpets in the room and in the corridor make the hotel very dark. Room was a little bit noisy.

Pros: The location could not have been more convenient - within walking distance to Porto and the waterfront. Our room was charming and clean and we were very comfortable throughout the duration of our stay. This guesthouse is a great value for money!

Pros: This small guesthouse was excellent in so many ways. Fantastic location -- close to riverfront, numerous port wine cellars and tours, restaurants, and shops. Friendly, helpful staff made me feel at home the moment I walked in the door. Loved my room -- bright, nicely updated, very comfortable bed...and a big shower with space to move around, a real plus for larger people! Air conditioning was a welcome treat, and wifi worked like a charm. It all felt like luxury to me, but at a very reasonable price.

Cons: Stairs were loud and I heard everyone going up and coming down, could have used some carpeting. Plenty of fresh clean towels, but I would like to have had a washcloth.

Pros: Brothers Yousef and Othman did everything they can to make us feel at home. They had my shoe repaired for free. They organized our transfers to and from station. Excellent breakfast.

Cons: Stairs eere too steep for our age.

Cons: Room on 3rd floor, no elevator, had to carry suitcases all the way. Really no reception or decent eating area

Pros: Great location!

Cons: There was no one working on site so we had trouble gaining entrance to the hotel. It was a huge disappointment that there was no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor & my 81 year old husband had to figure out how to get luggage up 3 flights of stairs - fortunately a friend helped. If this info was in the online site, we missed it - shame on us. But that information should be marked more prominently.

Pros: Close to port cellars, restaurant and easy walk to Porto. Room was clean and nice. Contact took the time to recommend siteseeing highlights, great restaurants (we tried 2 and were both great), cellar tours and how to get to the airport.

Cons: We had confirmed there was an early check in between 8-9am. We got there at 8:50 and got in 15-20 minutes later via another guest opening the door. After several calls a person finally came at 11:00. We could have made other arrangements if we hadn’t gotten the early checkin confirmation and not wasted 2 hours of our time. Once the person came everything went smoothly.

Pros: Comfortable bed and serviceable shower room. Very good location.

Cons: No breakfast available a couple of days, but money refunded. All clean but a slight bad smell in building. Chilly for wet November.

Pros: The typical 3-star hotel. Not too big rooms but clean and cosy. Helpful staff. Good connections thanks to the Joao de Deus Metro station.

Pros: Great value for money! The room is spacious and provides all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is above all the expectations for the price. Very good variety of breads, cereals and fruits, fresh orange juice and Portuguese sweets. The location is great, very close to the Metro, with which you can quickly reach most touristic points of Porto. We were very impressed, and would certainly recommend the hotel for anyone staying in the city!

Pros: The hotel is great, with a lovely staff. They noticed that it was my wife’s birthday and, when we came back from a visit to the city, there was a very nice plate with cake, candy, fruits and a beverage in our room. It was a very kind and sweet gesture!!!

Pros: The Receptionist "Rita" who suggested a trip to Braga. She booked a good trip for me, as all the other ones were booked up. Also the black haired man who's working in the dinning room - very good and a hard worker.

Cons: Yes, I was beside the metro but I didn't know how to use it. Only for the great staff and very nice portogese people, who explained how to use it My 1st and only language is English.

Cons: Where to begin... the place is old and run down, not clean. Room was musty smelling. Room 201 is next to elevator and noisy. Street traffic is noisy. No way is this 4 star, more like 2 star.

Cons: I have mentioned on a mesaage that I would like to pre-order a cake for my husband’s birthday and is a surprise... so on arrival at reception first question after I paid the room was(in front of my husband)” when do you want to bring the cake before or after dinner?” Obviously I tries to pretend that I did not understand the question but my husband knew what is “ the surprise”... anyway that was minor comparing to when changed the towels the cleaners left only one towel in the room and never came back to bring more. The heating wasn’t working and was lots of dust as after first day experience we did not let the cleaners to “clean” the room. But the major problem was the “ SPA” were is too much called spa, first of all the lasy on reception let us changed and than informed us we need to buy from hotel reception if we want to swim head cap, well agree with thet but why all these rules were not advertised before so future clients could make a plan, therefore we said ok we don’t have those can we use the jacuzzi or steam room, obviously they were not working... so basic for a wanna be 4 stars hotel with “spa” I woudn’t give more than 3 for the room and view. Was very dissapointing esspecialy because was a very special occasion in my husband birthday so we wanted the spa... but next time I will take in consideration more previous reviews. Also at breakfast my husband found hair in scrumbled eggs twice...so other big surprise.. for a big birthday. Overall very poor quality for a Golden Tulip Hotel, and please don’t advertise you have spa if ia not working....for 4 days..(our time there)
