10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful, would remember guests and be on hand to help with whatever was needed. Food was great and good choice of evening activities (wine tasting ect)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was cold when we went in as the heater had been turned off. After an hour it was not heating up at all significantly so I went to reception and asked if they had an extra heater that we could use. However. mobile heaters were against health and safety reg's so they transferred us into the room next door which was nice and warm and very easy to transfer our stuff into. After that everything about our stay was excellent.
Cons: The weather! and I know there's nothing they could do about that
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very comfortable, very clean and spacious, lovely venue and location.
Cons: There wasn’t a fridge in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Hot tub wasn't working which was a shame
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel looks amazing, in the middle of nature, pure beauty everywhere you look. Our room was huge, nice views from the room, bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is huge aswell, big cupboard with mirror, amazing really. We were there when this virus became serious so we couldnt do much just stuck in the room because the frist 2 days anywhere we went it was closed and it was constantly raining after 2 every day, but it was very warm and comfy in the room. Jacuzzi and swiming pool area nice and tidy aswell, had noone else there except us so we were lucky because the jacuzzi is very very small.
Cons: The food itself. There was not many choices for a start and the portion sizes are small compare to the fact how expensive it is. Breakfast was alright but only had cold food and you had to order the hot food which was really nice but would call it buffet because of it, just "half-buffet" (if that is a thing?). Maybe they have a proper buffet when the hotel is full?! Anyway first night we had food from the bar, after that we decided to eat outside because it was well expensive and we were still hungry after it.. The closest place is about 10 min drive, thats where you can find shops, pharmacy, pubs etc..
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous. Book a room with a balcony, overlooking the Loch, and sit and enjoy the view. Wow.
Cons: Some entertaining restaurant staff. Not bad, just different.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is beautiful & there is plenty of parking available
Cons: Restaurant - no variation in the menu & not even a daily special, room service menu has more choice than the restaurant. Breakfast chaotic during coronavirus restrictions. All areas - stayed for a few nights during coronavirus epidemic & there was NOT a single drop of antibacterial gel being used or available in the hotel Room- the hot water at the bathroom sink was dangerously hot & there was no mixer tap, the towel rail radiator gets far too hot & is right beside the toilet so could not be avoided, there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes or bathrobes on. The bed sheets were too small for the bed as was the mattress topper resulting in both not staying in place overnight as they were not large enough to be tucked under the mattress which was not ideal. Spa - for the size of the spa there were not enough loungers, there is a large area beside the pool but only 5 loungers , there is ample space to put more seats in this area either in the form of loungers or tables & chairs but the lack of seating was very disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so fabulous
Cons: No issues
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Golden Lion Hotel - Stirling - Building
3
8.1 Excellent (4,079 reviews)
Overview Reviews

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Golden Lion is perfectly located 5 minutes from the train, and at the heart of Stirling. There was dozens of pubs, restaurants and shops to keep you entertained, the room and bathrooms were clean, and the staff were lovely and had no problems holding my bag until check-in time. I was even able to squeak into a top-floor room with an amazing view over Stirling and of the surrounding hill-side - spectacular!
Cons: While the exterior and main floor are exquisite and inviting, the hotel rooms left a lot to be desired. The beds were comfortable enough, the bathroom was functional, however it is out-dated and has an off-colour that doesn't come out from years of use. Luckily it was big and spacious - a great break to stretch your legs after a busy day.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional and having car parking in the very central location was a real plus. Food was very good as well. Not many places offer the "full buffet" option for breakfast. And it was welcome.
Cons: Given my stay was at the beginning of the Covid 19 shutdown of all outdoor entertainment more time was spent in the hotel than I planned and the lack of available Wifi in my room but only in pockets of the reception and bar put paid to using the time available for work or essential contact with far flung family and friends.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great hotel with great staff
5.0 Okay

Cons: No complaints
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was good value for money
Cons: TV channels
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location for fishing at Lake of Menteith. Most anglers at lake events stay there. Looks newly refurbished.
Cons: Have stayed there many years for lake events. Always we were allowed early breakfasts at 0700hrs to get to the lake for the venue gates opening at 0745hrs. This time they point-blank refused early breakfast for us(approximately 15 anglers) and said 0730hrs would be the earliest. A lot of anglers not happy about this. With several angling events per year a bit stupid to lose this business for such an issue. No other issues with this hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Value for money and location make this a good choice for people wanting to visit surrounding areas. Food was good and bar prices reasonable.
Cons: Noise from adjoining rooms was audible due to structure of building. Would better be described as a motel. No hand sanitisers at restaurant entry point and toilet areas.

Pros: Very nice staff. Tasty but basic breakfast.
Cons: My key didn’t work at the front door so I was immensely grateful when the property owner appeared to let me in (this at 11:30pm!) Also, the walls are extremely thin so be prepared to hear everything from the adjoining rooms (and they can hear you too). Water pressure in the shower was a bit low but the water was very hot and I liked that there was the option to take a bath.
