The Marker was a lovely hotel. The staff & manager could not have been nicer. Property was in a good location, safe & clean. I warn all travelers; however, DO NOT book with TRAVELURO!!!! They did not state anywhere on their website that there was a $35 per night resort fee!!! Pros (+) In the midst of a move, I booked a night at the Marker and was upgraded to a suite. The room was an extravagant escape and I was greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate truffles. I really enjoyed my stay and am so grateful to Clayton, the Director of Guest Experience, and every member of the team for making me feel such good care.

Pros (+) This hotel is well-located -- easy to walk to Union Square and Chinatown, walkable to the waterfront/Embarcadero, and a quick drive to the Mission, Golden Gate Park, etc. The staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. The lobby area is a nice place to lounge, and the rooms are comfortable.
Cons (-) It would be really helpful to have coffee makers in the room or room service -- there is coffee in the lobby, but if you are traveling with kids or have an early morning, it is useful to have it in your room. I didn't care for the fact that the water bottles in the room had price tags. It would also be nice if the wine service rotated wines.
