If using budget, know that the service desk is located inside the airport and very close to the main entry doors. If you are not coming in on a flight and happen to be a local, it would be best to have someone drop you off at the front door. Otherwise, you will have to pay to park the vehicle that you drive to the airport again. We were renting a couple of passenger vans for a church event and didn’t realize we would have to pay to park the vehicle we came in, but that was our own fault And could’ve easily just got dropped off and avoided the extra fee.

Every person that I encountered was incredibly polite, efficient and competent . My flight arrived one hour before the Alamo/Enterprise desk opened. I would have loved the ability to pick up my car through a kiosk or something else to avoid a one hour wait for the desk to open.

I was told the only car available was a Tesla, which was fine, but there was absolutely no information/staff available to answer basic questions. (How to start the vehicle, how to detach the charging adaptor.) I asked a Budget staff member in the garage to help, but he was busy with other customers and his coworker was apparently not answering his phone to come help. The worst part was that it was only charged to 50%, and I had a 90 mile trip ahead of me at 1am through a very rural area. I got to my destination with 15% left, but it was somewhat nervewracking. I didn’t realize that it was only charged to 50% because I am new to Teslas and was looking for an approximate range (ie 200 miles) as is common with other EVs I have driven. The car also came with 2 identical charging adapters, ostensibly to help the Tesla connect to non-Tesla EV chargers. But this adapter did not fit the advanced charging station at my hotel, and I question why it came with 2 identical adapters, not 2 different ones. My only option was to go to a Tesla supercharger, which was only 12 miles away, but it was still quite a hassle.

Correct class of car was ready when i arrived. Car was clean.

Cons:

Short staffed. Only one person for 3 rental car companies. Nobody was there for drop off even though it was during the day and i had to put the keys in a lock box. There wasn’t anyone to return the car to.

I was overcharged. They charged me for insurance that I had previously declined via Kayak. They are paperless so I didn't realize the over charge until I saw the email with the bill after I had driven off the lot. I called customer service immediately and was told they couldn't resolve issues on an ongoing rental and to call after I had returned the car. It took multiple calls to resolve.

The pick up process was ridiculous. It took 30 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up. Then once there it took another 30 minutes waiting in line to get the paperwork. Even with a parking lot full of cars we had to wait yet again for them to drive a car up from the recent drop off area.

Pickup and return of the rental car to the CVG Cincinnati airport was superb. Returning a car quickly is so important with the pressure of getting it done before the flight time. The staff I worked with at CVG was excellent both in picking up the car and returning it.
