The most I liked about the hotel was its location, it is in the middle of all the action. The views from the room were wonderful. Additionally, I liked the exterior architecture and the decoration of the lobby.
What I did not like about the hotel was the decoration of the hallways and the room. The carpets and wall paper were in bad shape. It does not seem to be a 4 star hotel, it needs an urgent remodeling.

Location is definitley great. Parts of the staff are very nice and helpful.
First room was horrible, old, dirty, not cozy. I needed to ask 3 times for an upgrade. At the end, I got one for around --$ (before tax). New room was better, but coffee machine was not working. Asked every day to fix it - the fourth day they did.

Convenience to theater district
The hotel was old, not remodeled, no modern conveniences. A resort fee is charged, for what? The heat stopped working in the middle of the night. The room was 60 degrees in the morning. At check out, the clerk was pleasant, others had same issue.

The location and staff were great!
The hotel is beyond tired. The rugs in the hallways were coming up and worn. The bathrooms were gross, we refused to shower because of the condition of the shower.

However, dining options are hardly a problem for guests at the Manhattan. You’ll have less than a 1 mi walk from Penn Station to the hotel. Penn Station is one of the busiest subway stations in the world.
