Pros (+) The staff were very nice and helpful.
Cons (-) The hostel facilities are old and dirty. The window had to be open all night in order to get decent ventilation, but it was extremely loud outside... I barely slept.

Pros (+) Clean, efficient, friendly, value, accomodating of request for shower,.Personal assistance using the get-around for their guest PC and re-setting my TV channels. Casper at the desk Walter the maintenance man helped me with those. This was my third stay here. I came for the Phish shows and plan to patronize the 11th Ave. Hotel every labor day weekend when Phish comes.

Pros (+) Location and price.
Cons (-) No A/C, only fans and open windows. Also, the bathrooms were not cleaned and the floors in there were always dirty - so bring flip flops. One more thing - never any hot water. The "beds" are just single mattresses. I'd never go back.

Pros (+) Good location. Comfy beds
Cons (-) Lots of homeless people living at that place, probably by the next bed to you. While it's good from humanitarian point, I doubt travellers will feel safe around them.

Pros (+) Great location, affordable. Ideal for people who want to be downtown and don't need luxury.
Cons (-) Definitely more of a hostel than a hotel, although I stayed in a private room. You have to pay $3 for a worn out towel. Clean the bathtub before you use it and bring flip flops if you plan to take a shower (all showers are shared). My mattress was pretty uncomfortable but not the worst. The locks on the door are kinda sketchy. The older white gentleman checking people in blatantly ignored an Asian...

Pros (+) It was quiet and nobody bothered me. I had a single room with a toilet-- not the tidiest place, but it wasn't scary either. If you're 20-something, not picky, and traveling cheap, I highly recommend. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but hey, you get what you pay for. Pros (+) Nice staff, simple nice room, option for private bathroom, great location. Loved fan and open window instead of air conditioning.
Cons (-) Despite it looking very tidy and clean, not as relaxing as staying at a nice hotel. But for the price, totally awesome and good enough for me. I would recommend it.
