Pickup was wonderfully easy; upgraded from intermediate to a large SUV. Drop off through Dropbox at airport very simple.

Pros:

The drop off process was bad. The Hertz location was suppose to open at 7:30am but nobody was there. There was no drop box to leave keys. I was late for work waiting for someone to show up - they arrived to open the location at 8:15am.

Cons:

Customers shouldn't be waiting to drop off a vehicle. All locations need a way to drop off keys. It was unacceptable that I was forced to put my day on hold and be late for work because nobody was at the location to receive keys.

Extra trips were made, from hotel to this location, due to the fact that it wasn’t specified that they don’t take debit for a deposit hold, only credit. Also they only have the chip reader for the credit card, we had to make a separate trip because they don’t have tap to touch. What originally was a 9 o’clock pick up ended up to be an 11 AM pick up. They did upgrade us, but the fact of the matter is we had another rental to turn in with a different company and because these specifics of their franchise weren't posted anywhere online, it affected us negatively.

We originally wanted a sedan, but we were “upgraded” to an SUV. The car was clean but not great to drive. It felt like we were being pushed around by the wind. There was a very annoying beeping sound whenever you moved even slightly. The screen which we connected our phones too kept switching off so we had to keep adding the destination to google maps.

Two times they said one thing and did another. Overall was left feeling like they cared more to nickel and dime the customer than the actual customer. When signing up for the fuel prepay option, they had a sign that showed the price per gallon would be $3.56/gallon and they also verbally confirmed this pricing. But upon returning the vehicle, I noticed that the paperwork said it was $3.68/gallon. It was my fault for not reading more carefully, but they had just said one thing and then immediately printed another. Further, when returning the vehicle I called ahead saying I wouldn't be able to make it to them by their closing time (1pm on Sundays - very inconvenient), they said it's ok to return the next day, they'll just add an additional rental day, which I thought was fair. I explicitly asked if there are other fees associated with this, and they said no, just the additional day. When I returned the vehicle I get the bill and they added an extension fee and a late return fee. After pointing this out, they agreed to waive the extension fee but kept the late fee (but why is there a late fee when you return on the day you extended to?). The vehicle itself was fine. Would just like some accountability for the statements you make to customers.
