All good, really. A little far from the train station, about 15-minute walk.

I have nothing but good things to say about my Hertz experience in Oxford. We had a great car. It was very clean and the staff could not have been more helpful.

I rented a compact size car from Oxford, UK for more than 2 weeks. Customer service are really wonderful, very helpful, friendly and never push to buy unnecessary insurance and upgrade. The price is very competitive.

We had a flat tire and they sent AA within an hour. Changed tire and sent us to tire shop for new tire. Hopefully they will not charge us for this road hazard.
Great staff, great car and sorted out a minor problem very quickly. Would rent again from this team.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Only thing that could have been better was if it was closer to the center of the city.

We reserved a Nissan Qashkai in advance but were concerned about space for 2 large suitcases in the back plus some smaller bags. Once we arrived in the UK from the US, I called the location and asked for an SUV with a large trunk area, so they set aside a Ford Kuga for us. The car was terrific; large trunk and comfortable seats; it was also a diesel model and seemed to get good mileage. Tahlia and Sam at the location were very friendly and informative. If we’re ever in Oxford again and need a car, we’d definitely book with Enterprise again! Note re insurance: we normally rely on Amex coverage but weren’t sure about the coverage for tires and roadside assistance so we did pay for that (£5/day) and waived the rest. Suggest that renters check their coverage before arrival so you know your options.

Out of my 14 day rental, I had to deal with two flat tires. The first happened sometime after the rental branch had closed. I tried numerous numbers, was cut off, transferred or given another number to call, all to no avail. After an hour of trying to reach someone, I was advised to call the police for help. After calling them they came and gave me a ride to the nearest town to find a hotel for the night. They gave me the number for AA to call and give them my number and tell them what hotel I was at. They said they would notify me the next day when they found someone available to fix the car. I wasn’t called till the afternoon, had to take a taxi back to the car to meet the AA tow truck, drive to Quick Fix location, then walk to and wait 2 hours at a nearby restaurant while it was fixed. Then I had to drive 2 hours south to find my next hotel to be close enough for an early morning planned Castle tour. So, I lost both a day’s plan from my itinerary and had to stay in a different town than planned and the place I was having dinner. With the 2nd flat I had a direct number to AA. They were there in 20 minutes, took the screw out and plugged it. Told me to take it to a Quick Fix location along my itinerary route plan. They didn’t have the right tire so they sent me to another town that did. They had the right tire but no time to do it, so I went back to the first one where they said they could order one and get it by the next day. That came and went and so did the next. I drove around with my tire plugged for the duration of my trip before turning it in.
At pick up I was told there was no damage to the vehicle, but upon my inspection I found scratches and paint chips which I showed to the manager. The damage was then documented, but this raises concerns that lax oversight will lead to false damage claims for the renter. Scamming going on?
Some Oxford car providers already include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection Waiver into the hire price but not all of them. We recommend always be aware of your coverage when hiring a car in Oxford.
Keep in mind that car hire insurances often have a deductible clause, which is the amount you’ll have to pay if something happens during the time of your hire. If you want to avoid unwanted surprises, you should consider adding a no-deductible option to your Oxford car hire.
As a visitor to Oxford, renting a car means that you don't have to restrict your sightseeing to the city center. Although there are several options for public transport around the city, they can be expensive and fail to give you the same freedom as a car. There are plenty of places to be discovered across the city and beyond with a car, like the University Museum of Natural History and Bicester Village.

Travelers new to the UK should remember to drive on the left. When you enter a divided highway or motorway, you must keep to the left-hand lane unless you’re passing. Roundabouts are very common on UK roads, especially in and around Oxford. The traffic will flow in a clockwise direction around roundabouts, so you must give way to traffic approaching from your right.
The morning rush hour in Oxford begins around 7:00 am until 10:00 am and again in the evening from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. On Sundays and bank holidays, traffic is much heavier on the roads. If possible, it’s best to avoid the M40 motorway, especially going towards London, on weekdays as it’s often congested at rush hour.
