Cons: The car was in bad shape. The suspension was out of balance and alignment. The steering wheel and the whole car was shaking when going above 80 km/hr on the highway. The drop-off at the airport was complicated

I did not receive the car.
Cons: When I called Avis to receive the vehicle on Saturday morning, they didn't have it! The rental never occurred. The phone number posted for the Avis location where the vehicle was supposed to be - per the official website - was disconnected. I called a different Avis location, they provided me the cell phone number of someone working at the location, and this person who answered the phone was extremely rude and even used profanity when I asked where the car was. "Ciao, pendejo," he said as he hung up. I am considering filing an official complaint with Avis. I highly recommend that Kayak consider reevaluating their contract with this agency. No reasonable person would give Kayak money for this.

Pros: making the reservation was a breeze
Cons: Do you insuurance purchase from Alliance was not accepted at the Avis in Colombia. They said they don't honor those third party insurances and forced me to pay for their insurance.

Pros: Nothing. I cancelled the rental on the spot.
Cons: I was quoted a total of about $300 for the 9 days rental, and at the counter it turned out to be about over $900 for the same 9 days, for the same "smallest, most economical" car. On top of that, the $90 insurance I purchased at the time I made the reservation was useless.
Cons: The customer service provided by Budget at the airport was awful. We called to pick up the car early and were told that there was no issue. When we arrived they seemed surprised we were early and began to tell us we did not have a car. They found a car for us but after they charged my credit card for the rental they again said there was no car available. We ultimately had to complain with the person's boss on the phone for them to find a car. They also have terrible information security. The person at the desk took 3 copies of my full credit card information which could easily be stolen. When asked his only excuse was that their computers were not working that day but could not explain how they would keep my information safe.
